Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ooc// How interesting. In England, and probably America too, the s-word is one of the most offensive swears, along with the f-word and the c-word. Things like damn, dang, crap, and the like are more acceptable over here I suppose it's good that if I post a rude word I just bleep it out, yeah?
ic// It was a shame on Venonat's part that he had missed witnessing Mustela attacking her teammate; the 'buglet' would have probably found it hilarious. Still, as Xuan nudged the Pokéball towards the Bug type, the purple puffball disappeared inside in a flash of red light. It was possible to even tell the Pokémon's reaction to finding himself suddenly inside a Pokéball; the capture device suddenly twitched, jumping violently in his surprise at finding himself faced with the possibility of capture.
No, he wasn't going to be completely won over by this new trainer! Venonat struggled as best as he could, but found it rather difficult to do so due to being so weak after the battle. He tried his hardest, though, flinging himself at the red and white walls. The Bug type was tiring even more, however, and began to pant as the Pokéball's twitching grew slower until it stopped altogether, pinging to announce a successful capture. Inside, Venonat had slid to the floor and fallen asleep; it was nice and comfy inside there.
Venonat was caught!
Name: Species: Venonat Gender: Male Level: 12 Ability: Compoundeyes- Raises the Pokémon’s accuracy by 30%. Attacks: Tackle, Disable, Foresight, Supersonic, Confusion Personality: This Venonat is a very stubborn and determined Pokémon. This helps him in battle, although sometimes he feels he knows better than his trainer. Still, he manages to be a cheerful, curious Pokémon. He isn't shy at all, actually being quite brave but this can also be a disadvantage because he occasionally doesn't detect danger.

Xuan heaved a sigh of relief as the ball stopped its vibrations with a ping. She had been worried that the violent shakes of the ball had meant that the Venonat had woken and was struggling; that it would break out from the bonds. Still, it seemed that so far, it had settled down well enough. She put out a tentative hand, feeling the warmth of the ball against her palm for a moment, before picking it up and brushing the loose dirt off it.
"Sciari," she said to nobody in particular. "Sciari."
"What's that?" Rex.
"A family of gnats, truncated." Jun.
Nodding at the explanation, the Weavile pocketed her new catch and observed the surroundings. Obviously, a scuffle had broken out around here, but not much damage had been sustained by the plants – only a lot of fallen branches and leaves that were scattered in unruly piles. With a final, satisfied look, Xuan collected her Pokémon and Daemon and set off. Route 2 was still five minutes' walk away; there was still the possibility of another Pokémon appearing. She'd have to give Mustela a Potion somewhere down the road if she wanted to use the Sneasel again, but she was rather confident that Rex could settle whatever else appeared…

Xuan was right about Pokemon still having a chance to ambush her during the short walk up to Route Two. In actual fact, a Pokemon was standing right next to the border, waiting for some trainer to come near. The Pokemon was a Machop; a Pokemon that loved a good fight but was at the same time a polite Pokemon; he didn't want to anny trainers by searching them out while they walked, which was why he waited for the best ones on Route One to reach the borders he patrolled before asking them for a battle.
He had only started this recently, and had only gotten one battle. Machop knew this was risky- he'd almost been caught once- but he was willing to take the risk for a good fight. The Fighting type smiled as Xuan and her Pokemon came into view, hoping he would get a battle. Smiling at the trainer and her daemon, he then eyed her Larvitar who seemed to be in full health, then looked back at the trainer. ~Greetings, trainer. I was wondering if perhaps you would care for a battle?~

"Uh, wait, there's something—"
Trainer and Pokémon alike spun around at the rustling noise, Xuan's eyes wide, Rex's squeezed shut with fear. The Larvitar clutched at her Trainer's leg, still not yet over her fright at the previous assault by Mustela.
~Greetings, trainer. I was wondering if perhaps you would care for a battle?~
A Machop appeared; he seemed to be polite, if straightforward. With a smile and a glance at the now-relaxing Rex, he requested for a battle – apparently with the Larvitar.
Now, Xuan appreciated Pokémon – and people – who did not mince words. As such, she nodded once, waving Rex forwards. "Certainly. Be prepared for your battle." Her starter looked up, expecting her to release Mustela, but her gaze soon turned to one of puzzlement and dread when she realised that both 'morph and Dæmon were returning her expectant gaze.
"Uh, you don't mean… me?"
Silence.
"Against… him?"
More silence.
"Well… I did warn you." Almost reluctantly, the Larvitar stepped up, her gaze shying away from her opponent. "I'll try my best, 's all." With a quiet, commanding word from Xuan, Rex shifted her stance into a more stable one, arms braced, leaning slightly forwards with one leg placed in front. Meeting the Machop's gaze at last, she grinned openly. "Well, come on! Gimme a good fight!"

Machop smiled as Xuan sent forward what seemed to be her starter. It was rather odd how Rex actually seemed to be confused by that, but probably a good thing for him since it meant she wasn't used to fighting like this. Probably. Machop flexed his muscles, both preparing himself and trying to show off to Rex at the same time. He liked his opponents to think highly of him, just as he respected them in return. He nodded as the Larvitar spoke. ~Oh, you can trust me on getting a good fight in.~
he smiled. After all, most of his kind were intent on winning. Winning was great and all, but Machop personally prefered to just enjoy the thrill of the battle without minding so much whether or not he'd win. Having fun was the most important thing for him, so it was probably good that he was Rex's first opponent rather than something else, then. He became aware that she wasn't attacking; he had the first move, then. Machop rushed forwards, swinging his leg around in a wide and powerful arc. This was a Low Kick attack, and the Fighting type move would be super effective against Rex.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Yikes!"
Rex had not counted on the Low Kick being so fast. The Larvitar had thought that she was prepared by the Machop's opening words, but this came as a rude shock to her. As it was, she failed to dodge the blow; it slammed into her shoulder, thanks to the fact that she at least managed to curl up, and rammed her bodily sideways.
And it hurt.
Gasping at the pain as it peaked, the Larvitar skidded along the ground, tears springing to her eyes. "That hurt! Fighting is so… scary—"
"Get up!"
It was an order, not a plea, from Jun. Rex's head snapped back to face him, biting her lip as tears spilt over.
"Stop wallowing! You're supposed to fight, nitwit!"
Her trainer gave a stern nod. "As he says. Stand up. Face your opponent."
Biting her lower lip and swiping at her eyes determinedly, Rex stumbled to her feet, wincing at her shoulder. The Larvitar took a deep breath, willing herself to forget the pain – she was a Rock-type, darn it. She wasn't going to let it overwhelm her. Shifting back into her stance, she looked to Xuan for guidance.
"Screech, and Sandstorm after." The moves made sense; her other attacks would only be half as effective on the Machop; might as well go in for a durable, if slow-wearing, attack. With luck, the Sandstorm might make it hard for the Machop to see his foe, though it would work both ways. Screeching, of course, would help to lower his defences and allow for Rex's attacks to deal more damage.
The Larvitar raised her head and let out a tearing call, straining at the very edges of hearing. The high frequencies would seriously hurt those in the vicinity. Scowling, Jun clapped his paws over his ear-holes; Xuan did likewise. Then, pawing at the ground with both hind legs and supporting her body with her forearms (though favouring her hurt arm visibly), Rex brought up a stream of sand that quickly evolved to a full-scale, if not more erratic, Sandstorm.

Machop could see the Sandstorm easily before it hit, but before that there had been the Screech; a move he hadn't seen heading his way. The sudden horrible noise made the Fighting type Pokemon grit his teeth, angered but managing to calm himself down as he felt his defense stat drop rather significantly. The Sandstorm was next, an attack that wasn't exactly dodgable. The storm swept across the battlefield, raging strongly to cause Machop damage, but not Rex due to her typing. The storm then faded a fair bit, just being gentle winds sweeping a little sand about. It would continue to flare up again on every turn, of course; that was how it worked.
Now, finally his turn to get his own back. Firstly, he decided to use a Leer and see how Rex liked having her defense lowered, although he knew it wouldn't be as effective as the Sreech had been. The humanoid Pokemon locked his eyes on hid opponent, hlaring at them in a feirce Leer to lower her defense stat a little. He then raced towards the Larvitar in another Fighting type attack, although this time it was a Karate Chop attack, quite a bit stronger than the Low Kick had been. He moved his hand back to get in a good swing as he drew nearer with his Karate Chop.
