The judge stood ready, beside the centre of the battlefield. A strong Arcanine was at her side, ready to sort things out if it went wrong. She waved a flag and blew a whistle. "Let the battle commence!" she called.

What was with this kid? He didn't have any daemon as far as she could see. That was weird... no matter. She just wanted to see if the weird kid could battle. It's no fun 'beating a dead horse' as her saying goes. Sneasel was released from the Pokeball, her claws at the ready, prepared for battle. "I don't intend to go easy, so don't hold back." Mizuki knew that she should give her opponent a fair warning.

Ralts did not reside in a Pokéball, and stood ready at Khera's command. You are absolutely sure you wish to partake in this, little one? Yes, papa. We're been over this. I'm certain.
"I don't intend to go easy, so don't hold back." "I wasn't aware that restraint was a custom familiar in these scenarios." Khera lazily tossed Ralts' disused Poké Ball up and down. "Fear not, for I shall partake in none. You would not begrudge us the first move, surely?" Pocketing the capsule, he slipped his feet apart, facing the battle. Let's go. Start with a Calm Mind.
It would be rather odd for the watching Mizuki to see the Ralts, seemingly out of the blue, begin to quietly focus. A pale pink aura materialised around it; clearly Calm Mind.

Hm... interesting. A Shiny Ralts was his choice. She knew she had the advantage based on type, but she still knew to be careful and not get overconfident. She observed the move carefully; Calm Mind, a move to raise the special attack and special defence stats. Looked like her turn now.
"Start with Beat Up," she decided. She knew full well what this attack did. Sneasel could get all of Mizuki's team on the battlefield for a moment to land an attack on Ralts, but they'd only get one shot before returning to their Pokeballs.
As she thought this, Sneasel let out a loud cry, causing Drifloon, Sunkern and Vulpix to leave their Pokeballs and charge in for an attack. She took up the rear of the pack, ready to deliver the last of four straight blows.

Ralts. Weather this attack, then Calm Mind again. That should be enough. Yes, Papa.
Four consecutive hits landed on Ralts' body. Khera had seen this move before. Beat Up Was a single, simple attack from each Pokémon in the user's party. It was at its full strength when all of said Pokémon had a high attack strength, and he was pretty sure that most of the Pokémon sent out were more specially-minded than physically. Ralts should be able to endure this.
Well, the psychic Pokémon did, but it wasn't very pleasant. Dropping to one knee, the small creature attempted to focus as best it could through the stinging pain. Breathe out... and in... and focus. Another Calm Mind. Seemingly feeling slightly better, Ralts got to its feet. Now, Will-o-Wisp. Cut the opponent's attack.
Clapping its hands, a small flame appeared between them. It was an eerie blue, and illuminated the Ralts' skin. It then proceeded to fling it at the opponent. It wouldn't do direct damage, but hopefully would leave a burn.

Everyone else got back into their Pokeballs as Sneasel took the hit. That wasn't good; burns would hurt over time, and cause her attack power to drop. Did Sneasel know any special attacks? That wouldn't work; two consecutive Calm Mind attacks would raise Ralt's Special Defence to a really high level. Maybe she could... That's it!
"Use Screech, then Metal Claw," Mizuki ordered as she covered her ears. Sneasel let out a loud, piercing screech, aiming to harshly lower Ralts' defensive power. She then dashed right at Ralts, glowing claws prepared to strike.

Ralts managed to block its ears from the Screech attack, but the Metal Claw hit, and it was driven back again. This wasn't good. Khera knew Ralts was reasonably flimsy Pokémon at best; it wouldn't be able to take too many more hits, which meant they would have to fall back on its mediocre speed to dodge. Still, it he could press the offensive then he might be able to just about scrape a win, or at least a draw. Why, he couldn't fathom. What was the point of all this, the winning and losing and battling?
Ralts. Fall back a bit. Shuffling back, the Psychic Pokémon almost backed up onto Khera's feet, placing a reasonable distance between itself and the opponent. Good. Now, Magical Leaf. Flinging one arm to its side, several leaves were scattered onto the ground. As Ralts' arm rose, a glowing miasma formed around each of them, and they shot up into the air. Ralts flung its arm forwards, and the leaves began to weave through the air towards Sneasel. Khera knew they would pursue their target until they got a hit, were destroyed, or moved out of range. The former was preferable and the latter basically impossible; unless Sneasel moved out of the arena, it would be in Ralts' 'radius'.

"Parry them with Ice Punch," Mizuki decided. Since Ice Punch was an Ice-type attack, and Magical Leaf was a Grass-type attack, she'd have the advantage... right? Sneasel tucked her claws into a fist that gave off a cold blue glow. She punched as fast as she could to block. A few got past her, and the burn stung again. She knew that she'd have to hurry before bad got worse.
"Agility and Ice Punch." Sneasel moved faster than she had before, darting back and forth so quickly you couldn't see her changing positions. Her fist was glowing again, ready to strike.

(( Isn't two offensive moves in one turn a bit much? Eh, I won't complain. ^ ^ ))
Ralts, look out! Got it.
Since it'd distanced itself beforehand, Ralts had about half a second to prepare for the oncoming onslaught. It was just about enough; the psychic-type barely pulled its body out of the way in time, and the attack went screaming past. A claw had grazed the Ralts' arm, which now hung limp at its side, tiny ice crystals starting to form. Ralts! Are you - Alright? Yes, papa, I'm fine. Stop worrying. ...okay. If you insist. Magical Leaf, again. It's your only viable line of attack.
With one arm out of action, Ralts' attack didn't look quite so impressive this time around as it scattered a pile of leaves and flung them at the foe. Hopefully this time it would get more of a hit.

This time the leaves hit her dead on. Sneasel braced herself against them. It didn't hurt too much, but the burn still hurt her. She had to be quick about this.
Mizuki knew this as well, so she decided on her next move carefully. "Screech and Ice Punch," she said swiftly. Sneasel let out another painful scream while Mizuki covered her ears, then charged in for another freezing cold punch.

Khera observed coldly as the Magical Leaf made contact with Sneasel. Ralts' attack had been increased enough so that it would nullify the ice-type's natural weakness to the grass-type attack, but they still didn't seem to be doing an incredible amount of damage... which was strange, when you considered that Sneasel was a rather frail Pokémon at the best of times. He put it to one side of his mind for now. Back to the battle.
Ralts was rather taken aback by the Screech. So much so, in fact, that it barely registered Sneasel's attack. The Screech hadn't taken full effect, but had still lowered Ralts' defense some. That Ice Punch had hurt; Ralts fell to the floor, panting. Concentrate, Ralts. Distance yourself again from the opponent; then, another Calm Mind should be in order.
Grimly, Ralts picked itself up, moving as far away from Sneasel as it could possibly get, and crouching down to quietly focus. The pinkish miasma appeared for the third time this battle. Right. Magical Leaf should be a bit more potent now, so use it again.
Similarly, one one arm came into action this time. The other seemed, if not completely frozen up, covered in tiny ice crystals and really unusable. The glow around the leaves was even stronger this time, however, and they looked more menacing as they danced through the air towards Sneasel.

ooc// Just skimming through, and yes, two offensive moves in one turn is a bit much. You're looking at loosing points, Ichigo, if you had any.

OOC: Right; sorry.
"Take it," Mizuki decided. Sneasel took the hit, bracing herself against the pain. Her burn hurt her further, and she didn't think she could hold on much longer.
"Let's end this. Win or lose, this will probably be my last move, so it'll have to count. Screech and Beat Up," Mizuki decided. Sneasel let out one more scream and Mizuki covered her ears once again. She cried out again, not as loud this time, calling Drifloon, Sunkern and Vulpix onto the battlefield. Once again, she was at the back of the pack. Would this end it? She hoped so.

The ear-pierceing shriek hit again. Ralts felt its eardrums rattle in the back of its cranium. It had hit full-on, and the psychic-type's defense had been lowered another stage. It wouldn't be able to weather this attack as it had the first time around.
Ralts. Can you move? I... I think so, papa. Good. Then... dodge.
Springing into action, energy suddenly filled Ralts' body. Bending forwards slightly, it leapt up into the air with unusual grace, somersaulting over the heads of the attacking party and landing a small way behind them. The landing had been rather awkward, and the tiny pink Pokémon stumbled as its leg gave a muted crunch under it, bringing it to one knee.
You heard our foe. That was likely the last move Sneasel will have the opportunity to make. Magical Leaf.
For hopefully the final time, Ralts raised its tired arm. Leaves scattered into the air, dancing forwards on an invisible breeze, skipping from side to side as they neared their target.

Sneasel cried out as the leaves hit. She was so tired... no! If she passed out now, Mizuki would be so disappointed in her! She fell down onto one knee, panting. The burn cut her energy a little more, and she whimpered.
Mizuki watched sternly as Sneasel nearly collapsed, not showing any further emotion. She said nothing; she simply crossed her arms and watched. If she softened up now, Sneasel might think less of her. But she knew that if Sneasel lost, she wouldn't think any less of her Pokemon.
"You fought well," she said. To whom she was speaking was unclear.
