Character
Name: Tyra Voss
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Pokemorph: Zangoose-morph
Appearance: Tyra stands at around 5'11", and has a thin physique. However, she is obviously well muscled, just very toned. Her skin is very pale, although she spends a lot of time outside, because she burns if she stays in sunlight and thus mainly stays in the shade. Her hair is in a high ponytail that is verypoofy and sticks out in multiple directions. The right (her right) side is white, while th other is red, same as a Zangoose, with a jagged dividing line between the colors. Likewise, she has the ears (one red and one white) of a Zangoose, and a fluffy white tail. Also, she has red marks on her skin in the same places as a Zangoose: over her left eye, across her chest and stomach, and on her hands up to her wrists. Her eyes, similarly, are red.
Tyra wears a black band of fabric around her chest (its not enough to call it a shirt, but it covers her chest completely). Over this she wears a white coat, open and showing the part of the chest mark that extends beyond the band, with a fur trim around the neck and front and loose long sleeves. On her hands she wears black fingerless gloves. Loose black shorts hang on her hips, held up by a black belt. They are tattered and ripped at knee length (they WERE pants at one time, but thenTyra needed shorts so she... made some). On her feet she wears black leather sandals, simple casual footwear for most terrains.
Personality: Tyra is a very rash person. She loves and lives to fight, and finds conflict exciting. She is quick to anger, whether at personal insult or injustice, and often responds violently (or would, if not for Kavi's intervention). Also, she will not forget a slight and is slow to forgive people. In addition to fighting due to anger or vengeance, she loves friendly competition, in fact more than anger-fueled competition. Unfortunately, she's very bad at not going all-out, all the time. Because of her love of competition, she has a tendency to act cocky and aggressive to start a fight, plus because she thinks she's pretty awesome and tough.
Usually, unless pressured, Tyra is actually very friendly. With these people she is loud and affectionate, although she considers play fighting and teasing to be a typical way of showing affection. She is very defensive of people she considers her friends, and will become enraged if she thinks someone is mistreating them, sometimes unintentionally making the situation worse. Tyra is a little more cautious around normal humans, but not too much. She is also very sensitive to racism, in particular, having been subject to it when younger. Also, Tyra is a little naive about some things, such as how her lack of shirt could be considered sketchy (she just wants to show off her stomach to show how strong she is). Tyra's goals are to be the very best, defeat absolutely everyone else, defend people who need it, and see the world.
History: Tyra was born to a Glameow-morph mother and a normal human father. To say they were actually in a relationship at any point, though, is a bit of an exaggeration. So, when Tyra's mother gave birth to her, she did not want to deal with the difficulties of raising a child (and a morph at that), and dumped the infantZangoose-morph on its father's doorstep. Luckily for Tyra, her father was a kind person and quickly took her in and became a single parent. Although they had their hard times surviving on his low wage and his inexperience and unpreparedness for children,Tyra and her father survived just fine for a few years.
However, when Tyra first started going to school she learned that not everyone was not going to be as nice to her as her father. Her obvious signs of being a morph, from her skin discoloration to her ears and tail, were a constant bane for Tyra in her young years. The other kids would not associate with her, and took great pleasure in pointing out what a weirdo she was. It wasn't a huge leap to physical bullying in the next few years, and Tyra was constantly hit and pushed around. Not wanting to worry her father, she simply said nothing and withstood it, turning to her daemon as her only friend. Kavi, for his part, usually took the form of a Zangoose to try and make Tyra feel more comfortable with herself. It was these two against the rest of the school, or at least thats how it seemed to them.
Tyra had grown to hate the other kids by now, but had been taught not to retaliate, as all kids do when they are young. But one day, when she was in second grade, the other kids had hit hard enough to leave a rather noticeable bruise on her arm. Of course, her father noticed this as soon as she got home, and while he accepted the "I fell" excuse this time, when he noticed more twice again within the week, he finally got a guilty admittance out ofTyra (at Kavi's urging). Immediately worried for his daughter's safety, he enrolled her in martial arts classes.
In these classes, Tyra found that she LOVED fighting. And so, at school, she began retaliating whenever anyone tried to bully her, often accidentally going overboard and hurting someone more than they had even intended to hurt her. In this way, she started to get in trouble, but by this point she didn't care. She felt that they deserved it. At points, she even would even start fights against students she particularly disliked, partly for vengeance and partly for the fun of it. This only served to alienate her from her peers and the school staff more. Worried more than ever after hearing of this from the teachers, her dad also gave her classes in self-control.Tyra couldn't care less, but luckily Kavi took these lessons to heart and set to the task of keeping Tyra out of too much trouble, although no one could stop her if someone else started it (or if she could justify it enough).
Tyra, by age 13, had calmed a little bit at Kavi's constant urging. Most of the students now avoided her completely. She still loved to fight, and spent her free time practicing martial arts and working out. Despite not having any friends,Tyra was happy living with her father and Kavi. Then, as happened to all children of that age, Kavi settled. Unfortunately, Kavi didn't settle as a Zangoose, like everyone thought he would but as a Seviper.
The first time Tyra woke and found a Seviper sitting next to her, she instinctively tried to hit it, shocked when she felt pain as she connected. And things became more clear, but more terrible, when she heard the voice of her beloved Kavi come from this creature. The problem was, as a Zangoose morph, she had a deep dislike of snakes, Sevipers in particular. Now she felt as if she had no one. And Kavi, his personality having not changed at all, was deeply hurt and upset that he was now being distanced from Tyra. Tyra fell into a depression at this age, and spent a lot of time sulking.
This culminated in Tyra, sick of seeing the Seviper, tricked Kavi into squirming under a fence to see what was on the other side. As soon as he had, Tyra ran in the other direction. As a Pokemorph, she could go some distance, but when she felt she had hit the edge of that distance, she tried to keep going despite the intense pain, ignoring Kavi's cries as he tried to get back under the fence as fast as he could. After what seemed like forever, but was only a few steps,Tyra relented and ran back with tears in her eyes to hold the snake daemon. It was then that she realized, with Kavi apologizing for being stuck in this form through his own tears, that this was the same old daemon who she had always loved and cared for, regardless of his form. She also realized that it was silly to keep up a hatred due to the genetics of a species she actually wasn't even technically a member of. In that moment,Tyra grew up a lot, getting past one of her strongest problems.
Since reconciling with Kavi, Tyra had become a lot more cheerful. She no longer sought out confrontations, but was more than happy to undertake one in fair competitive spirit (or when righteously angered, as much as Kavi tried to hold her back). Soon enough though, she found herself bored in her town, having nothing to do with her time except work out. It was then that she decided she'd had enough of being bored and that a Pokemon journey sounded exciting. Almost spontaneously, she gathered her stuff, said goodbye to her dad, and walked out of town with Kavi draped across her shoulders.
Career: Trainer
The Daemon
Name: Kavi
Form (If settled): Seviper
Appearance: Kavi looks like a normal Seviper for the most part, but his colors are bolder and brighter than average. He is also exactly smaller than a normal Seviper, 6 feet from nose to tail tip.
Personality: Kavi is quiet and gentle. He takes great joy in being able to comfort and help Tyra. He has made it his duty to try and teach her self-control, and keep her from getting into pointless squabbles. However, he is often unsuccessful as she manages to justify the fights, and Kavi is unable to stop her. Even in these situations, though, Kavi makes sure she stays somewhat rational. He is the calm, methodical, reasonable one to counterbalance and protect his pokemorph companion. He also enjoys music of all sorts.
