Heeere's Kenny!

"Yay! Yay! Adventure time!" Piyo chirped, flying behind Kenny as a Taillow.
"Yes... adventure... hoorah," Kenny sighed. The Pidgey boy just kept walking, finally reaching the lab after a lot of walking. Flying would have been faster, but he wasn't in the mood. He knocked on the door with a clawed hand.

ic// A smiling, cheery face greeted Kenny at the door. Professor Pine was always pleased to see new trainers here. It gave him such a good feeling to see that people cared that much about Pokémon, and that warm feeling of pleasure he always felt when he saw a young person so happy, with so much potential, was brilliant. His Noctowl daemon, Telepa, unheld her reknown bored look. She examined the eccentric Tailow daemon and the Pidgey 'morph briefly, before shifting her wings impatiently, clicking her beak.

"Don't mind Telepa. I'm Professor Pine, come on in," Pine grinned, waving Kenny inside. The Laboratory was partly messy and partly neat, as though someone was trying to clean it but hadn't quite finished. Pine looked at Kenny. "Let me guess what Pokémon you would like... a Flying type, by any chance?" he guessed, the smile definately real and definately staying.

Kenny looked around a couple of times, while Piyo landed on his partly folded wing, bouncing with energy. He looked back to Professor Pine with a grin that showed that he was definitely going to surprise the professor.

"Yeah, you'd think so, wouldn't you? But no. While I'm planning on getting all Flying-types for the rest of my team, my starter needs to be a Pokemon that can both catch my dear Flying-types and take down the Pokemon that would be used to counter them, namely the Electric and Rock types. I'm thinking of a Pokemon that's a water type and an electric type that heals when it's hit by electric attacks. I'd like a Chinchou, shiny or otherwise," Kenny said. He grinned. "There's no way you were expecting that, right?"

"Yay! Yay! Zappy fishy!" Piyo chirped. Kenny quickly flapped the wing she was perching on, knocking her off. "...that wasn't nice..."

Pine smiled, and Telepa rolled her eyes at the hyperactive Tailow daemon. Urgh, idiots. She, on the other hand, was far, far better than them. She swooped over to one of the filing cabinets, making no sound, of course. When landed, she tucked in her pale brown wings, cocked her head and cooed questioningly to her human. Pine sighed, but followed her regardless as she hopped along and flew to the next cabinet when the invisible bonds between them permitted it. Pine reached into the second drawer of the cabinet. Everything was very neatly arranged, thanks to Telepa's handywork, and the Professor found no trouble in finding two Pokéballs. He showed them to Kenny as he walked over.

"In my right hand, I hold a shiny. In my left, a normal. Which one will it be?" Pine asked, holding out his hands so Kenny would be able to see the little stickers stuck to them which had been scrawled on in biro. It was true; one said shiny, the other said normal.

Kenny considered for a minute. Shiny Chinchou were a funny greenish color, but their evolved forms were a beautiful purple. Normal ones were a consistently cool blue. It wouldn't affect their strength, of course, but he would prefer a variety of color on his team, and there were other blue Pokemon he wanted to catch...

"Kenny, Kenny, Kenny, pick the shiny fishy," Piyo interrupted, sitting on his head.

"Okay, Piyo, I think I will. Shiny Lanturn is really pretty," Kenny said. Piyo cheered and bounced on the Pidgey-morph's head. "...And would you please stop bouncing on my head?" Piyo ignored his request. That, or she didn't even hear him...

Pine grinned, placing the shiny's Pokéball into Kenny's hand. Plenty of people liked shinies, and most Professors found them interesting to study. Well, this Pidgey Pokémorph obviously shared and interest in them, or he just thought they were pretty. In any case, shinies were just something you couldn't help but love. He carried the other Pokéball and carelessly threw it back into the drawer in the wrong place, knocking several other Pokéballs. Telepa gave a shriek and flew down to sort them into the right order. Pine rolled his eyes, then started getting Kenny's starter items together.

Telepa flew to Pine's side, but stayed on the ground. She looked unhappy. Pine grinned again. "Well, here are the items you'll need to take along with you. Good luck!" he wished, waving at Kenny and Piyo as they left.

"Thank you so much!" Kenny said, taking the Chinchou's Pokeball and stuffing all the items into a backpack, which he put on Piyo.

"Why do I have to carry everything?" she whined. Kenny shrugged, and waved back to the Professor as he left.
