Riza took a right turn on the path, hoping it was the right one. "You're lost, aren't you. Need some help?" said Kaiser, her Daemon, who was curled up around her neck as a Furret. "I'm not lost, I'm taking a shortcut!" Riza replied indignantly. This only elicited a sigh from Kaiser, who trnsformed into a Taillow and took to the skies. A few minutes later, he returned overhead and shouted, "I knew you were supposed to turn left at that path back there! Let's go!" Riza sighed and turned around where Kaiser was fluttering a few yards off the ground. He had a smug look on his face. She pretended to ignore him, walking past him to where the lab was clearly visible had she been looking. Kaiser transformed into a Furret and climbed up her back to curl around her neck once more.
Riza approached the doors and pushed them open without even bothering to knock and yelled at the top of her lungs, "I'm here to get my first Pokemon!"

Professor Pine opened the door, blinking in surprise. His disgruntled looking daemon was perched at his feet as he scratched the back of his neck. "Woah, no need to be so loud." he muttered, before adopting his usual tired smile. "Welcome! Come on in!" he opened the door wider to admit Riza. The Noctowl-daemon nodded to Kaiser, fluttering in.
Pine turned back to Riza, waving a hand at the selves of Pokeballs behind him. "Any perticular Pokemon you had in mind?" he asked, pushing his sleeves further up his arms.

Normally Riza would have rushed in without knowing what Pokemon she wanted, but he had made her think it over carefully before she left for the lab. But now her mind was racing to remember what she had decided on, as all the way to the lab she had been thinking about every other Pokemon that happened to pop into her mind. "Erm... yeah, I know what I want! I was hoping to get a Buizel!" Kaiser nodded over her shoulder.

"Buizel. A Water type. Gotcha." Professor Pine nodded, moving forward to rifle through a cabinet. Pulling out two Pokeballs marked 'Buizel' he held them out. "In my left hand I hold a female, in my right a male." he explained. That was quick. He must be a fairly organised person. Well, at least, his daemon was; presently she carefully closed the door to the drawer, straightening the neat rows of Pokeballs inside. Talk about a perfectionist.

Riza stared in bewilderment at the two Pokeballs. She didn't know if she wanted a Female or a male. She went with the eenie-meenie-miney approach. Finally, she pointed a finger at the ball in his left hand. "I guess I'll have the female Buizel, please!" Kaiser just shook his head in bewilderment at her lack of decision-making strategies.

Pine nodded. "Good choice. The male is a little rebellious." he explained, placing the Pokeball into Riza's hand and the other back into the drawer, where his daemon grumbled about neatness and alphabetical order and such. He just laughed, grabbing a pack containing the starter items and handing that over too.

Riza nearly squealed as she took the items, then bowed quickly and said, "Thank you, sir!" and ran out the door, impatient to start her adventure. "Route 1 isn't going anywhere, you know...[/color]" said Kaiser in her ear just before he turned into a Taillow and took to the skies. Riza ignored him. "Route 1, here I come!"
