Damien Wolf and his daemon, Jet, ran towards the lab. "Come on Jet! Lets speed up a little bit. I am psyched for finally getting my first Pokemon." declared Damien as he went into an all out sprint towards the lab. Not wanting to be left behind, Jet sped up even more. "Okay okay, yeesh and your supposed to be twenty-one. Ya' know, an adult. Damien, stop watch out for that-" as Jet said this, Damien ran into a tree, "...tree. You okay?" After he said this, Damien jumped up as if nothing happened and said, "I'm fine Jet, come on, lets go!" Sighing, Jet followed him. Once they reached the lab, Damien knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

Professor Pine opened the door, his Noctowl-daemon on his shoulder, as usual. The daemon studied the other daemon through bored eyes, then turned attension on the trainer-to-be. A little older than the usual people who walked through these doors, and a little eccentric and clumsy, in her opinion. It was very unusual to see a daemon of the same gender as the human, but she had seen odder things about; daemons of Pokemorphs, who could travel far away or, in some cases, never settle. So, with a flutter of wings, she relaxed into her normal bored self.
Pine grinned. "Hey there. Are you here for your first Pokemon, or something else?" he asked. Plenty of people of that age came here asking him for a job, but by the excited glint in his eyes, Pine supposed this man was here for a Pokemon.

Damien grinned as Professor Pine opened the door. "Yes sir I am. I know I may be a little older than most, but better late than never. Anyways, may I have a Bagon?" asked Damien with excitement evident in his voice. As Damien spoke to the Professor, Jet analyzed the Professor's daemon. 'Seems to be a little lazy to me. Ah, well who am I to judge. I wonder what Pokemon Damien's gonna choose. I kinda wish he told me. But of course he wanted to keep it a secret.' thought Jet as he lazily listened to the conversation. After he heard Damien say which Pokemon he wanted, Jet thought, 'A Bagon, eh? Well this is going to be an interesting journey.' Damien and Jet then waited for the Professor's response.

Professor Pine smiled. "Bagon. I think we have one left- yes. Aha!" He held up a Pokeball, a little sticker with a biro scrawl on it labelling it as 'Bagon'. He released the Pokemon inside, the miniture dinosaur looking Damien stright in the eye with a tough gaze, lip curled to show pointed teeth. "You'll take him, yes?"

Damien looked at the Bagon as it's lip curled up to show its impressive teeth. Jet noticed that Damien was looking at the Bagon and seemed to be having a staring contest. 'Uh oh, this is not going to end well,' thought Jet as he moved to intervene. All of a sudden Damien broke the staring contest with the Bagon to look at the Professor and, with a toothy grin, said, "I'll take him."

Damien could barely hold in his excitement as the Professor handed him the Pokeball. "Awesome, thanks Professor!" Damien said as he accepted the Pokeball and starter pack. Turning to the Bagon, Damien continued, "Well, I think that I'll call you Valor. All right, Valor, Jet, lets go! Thanks again Professor!" Damien then proceeded to bolt out of the lab with Jet and Valor at his heels. Once they exited the lab, anyone who was close by could here Jet say, "Damien, watch out for that... sign." To which Damien would reply, "I'm okay!" The trio then headed for the first route.
