Elika could see that Lilly was nervous. However, despite how the trainer felt, she laughed. "I haven't had many tourists before. Maybe I should, eh?" she said brightly. Tourists might actually relieve any moments of boredom when she'd run out of things to do, but they could also get in the way of battles. Plus they could get annoying after a time. Anyway, the main focus of the moment was Lilly. She looked like she was telling the truth.
The gym leader felt that Lilly looked a fair bit like the sort who'd challenge her, but it wasn't her decision to say whether or not she'd fight. The most common reason trainers didn't fight her straight away was because their Pokémon weren't strong enough; perhaps Lilly would appreciate a tip on that, then. "I'd recomed a visit to the PokéMart to stock up on the basics. If you want to train, there's the big Training Area which never seems to be far from anywhere." she told Lilly. She believed that this Training Area was classed 'Other Areas' or something like that.

She smiled lightly at the tip that she received and bowed her head lightly "I will do that." She spoke "But first I have to wait for one of my Pokemon to be healed." She felt safe enough to admit that, besides, it wasn't that unusual that trainers waited for Pokemon to heal, right?
She gave a small smile, slowly relaxing in the other woman's presence. She still could feel the lingering tenseness, the stress she never would lose. She breathed out and looked around yet again, unthanks herself quite curious.

Elika smiled. So, she was waiting for a Pokémon to be healed. "How serious is it? I had a trainer in here not long ago who battled me while she was waiting. I think hers took about a day, and after that she wasn't allowed to battle the Pokémon because it was still tired." she told Lilly. The leader wondered if Lilly's Pokémon would be too tired to fight. Maybe. Hopefully, the trainer had other Pokémon with her, too.
Elika watched as Lilly looked around. The girl seemed quite curious, and there was no-one around, so why not? Elika waved a hand at the lined on the ground. "These lines mark the battle area. There's not really much to do here, but perhaps you'd like to meet some of my students? I'm sure one might be willing to give you a battle." she offered. Hey, this didn't happen very often, did it?!

"I do not know." She answered, seeming troubled "Its whole leg was cut open..." She looked at the ground, following the lines that Elika would address moments later "I didn't dare to listen further.." She was afraid what she would do to herself if she would have listened further. She most likely would have searched them and hurt them in turn.
"Oh.." She murmured, looking at those lines again "That would be.... nice." She spoke, offering a small smile. She could use a bit of training after all. She intertwined her fingers in front of her, leaning forward a little "Although I'm not sure if my Pokémon are strong enough.." It was more said to herself, as she pondered out loud.

Elika could see that Lilly was a little worried. Hm, she hoped her Pokémon would be OK, and it was clear the trainer was concerned for it. She seemed to cheer up a little at the prospect of battling, however. As for Lilly wondering whether her Pokémon were strong enough, Elika could give her a little information. "Most of my successful challengers tend to level their Pokémon to at least level twelve; my Pokémon are at level twelve and fourteen. Anyway, let's go see if any students want to battle!" she smiled, leading the way through the door that Lilly wouldn't usually be allowed through.
Inside was some sort of entrance room. A number of shoes were tucked into cubby holes of a large box divided to fit shoes. Coat were hung on hooks and there were two trainers talking beside one a door. Elika smiled at them. "Hey, Mike, Selene. This is Lilly, she wondered in the gym for a look-see and I wondered if perhaps you'd like to fight her?" she asked. Mike, a boy with a Leovine daemon, shrugged. "Yeah, OK." he said. Elika led Mike and Lilly to the gym student's battle area, where the battle could take place. Mike would have only Grass types since this was a Grass gym. Lilly was to select her Pokémon first.

She did so, what a luck that she had a flying type. She knew that they were generally effective against grass types. She had to hide a small smile and took the pokeball from her belt and opened it. The Cacnea emerged from it and looked briefly around. She wouldn't show her Natu yet. The Daemon by her side looked at the Pokémon, before turning his gaze to her What of the Natu? He murmured, making her smile wider for a moment and he had to shake his head.
She then looked at the other person who would battle her. She wondered how strong he would be. The Skitty by her side looked at the other trainer as well; although the thoughts running through him where different, wondering why he wasn't send out to fight. He was stronger than the rest, wasn't he? She would have used him, if it wasn't for the simple thought that she had to level her other Pokémon up as well before Lith get too strong. She again clasped her hands in front of her, waiting.

Mark blinked. Surely this trainer knew that he would have Grass types only? So why was she choosing a Cacnea? His guess was that she was either trying to level up more than one Pokémon or trying to confuse him into using something which would be to her advantage, or making him be taken by surprise. Well, he would be ready for her to switch Pokémon, and besides, if she was trying to confuse him, it wouldn't work; since he had only recently started here, he still only had one Pokémon.
Presently, he took out that Pokémon's Pokéball and pressed the button, releasing the Grass type inside. A Bellsprout emerged. These Pokémon might not look too strong, but Lith had better watch out; they were extremely agile and could dodge moves easily and deliver them sneakily. "Bellsprout, I've got faith in you! I know you can do this, so prove me right!" he called. The bulb Pokémon nodded, smirking and looking determined. "You can have the first move." he said to Lith, ever the gentleman.

She was quick to act on it and bowed her head lightly, almost mockingly "Thank you." She spoke, she looked at the Cacnea for a moment. It looked back at her, with an expression that seemed to say that he wouldn't follow her orders. She really had to train him, she licked her lips, detirmed.
She had to try it, her eyes narrowed back at the Cacnea "Use Leer and then Poison Sting, Salch!" She ordered it. The Cacnea looked like he wouldn't do it for a moment, but then turned and leered at the Bellsprout, before raising his arms and shooting the poisonous darts.
She almost grinned at that, when he started to fight there wasn't really anything anymore that would stop him. It was most of the time a positive thing, only when she wanted to withdraw him it could pose a problem. She doubted that he would fight too much with her.

Mark smiled as he saw clearly that the trainer he was facing didn't seem to have developed a very strong bong with her Pokemon yet. That would definately play to his advantage, he was fairly sure of it. The boy watched as his Bellsprout felt the Leer lower it's defense stat, and try to dodge the Poison Sting. However, the attack came too quickly and the Grass type was struck. Mark frowned, not too happy about that. Still, the show must go on. "Bellsprout! Use Growth then Vine Whip!" he called. The bulb Pokemon grew in size before shrinking back to normal, raising its attack stat, before sending strong vines Salch's way in the Vine Whip.

Salch's eyes widened briefly, the tiny arms raising to ward off the attack, but yet not large enough. It winced as the attack struck and tried to shake it off. Lilly bit her lip briefly, trying to think of something quickly. She could attack once or twice, before having to switch him, then it was to hope that the bellsprout didn't land a critical hit.
She finally nodded to herself and only hoped that the Pokémon would hesitate as long now "Salch, use Absorb!" The Pokémon again seemed to consider it, before doing what he was ordered to. He realized the advantage for listening to this command, he weakened his opponent while healing himself.

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Mark watched as the Cacnea took the Vine Whip, smiling. That Absorb, though, would probably even out the health difference. He didn't want that. "Bellsprout, try to throw the attack back with a Vine Whip!" he called. The bulb Pokémon attempted this, but her timing was off and the beads of energy struck her. She winced in pain as she watched them steal her health and send them right back to Salch. "Never mind; send the Vine Whip in for an attack!" Mark called.
The Bellsprout nodded. It had been a shame that she had been hit and Salch had recovered a little, but she would just have to keep going. She hadn't retracted her vines throughout being hit, and now the rose off the ground and she smiled, waving them menacingly. She decided to include some of the strategy they'd practiced under the gym leader's teaching; the Bellsprout aimed for Salch's right side, then just before her Vine Whip would have hit, she changed direction to the left side. This would cut the attack's power, but would increase accuracy.
