Trevor turned in case he was unable to stop the Tackle before he hit the tree, but he stopped before then anyway. The trainer smiled. He had guessed Alexander wouldn't allow Hydra to be hit by the Tackle, and so that meant his plan had worked. He hadn't been bluffing, he would have gone through with it if the Ekans hadn't got off, but it had had a similar effect. Well, Trevor looked a little Poisoned now, but not to worry. That wouldn't be too much of a problem. "Trevor, Tackle!" he called.
Trevor was, in fact, feeling rather weak. Another attack or two would finish him off. He couldn't disobey his trainer though, because he knew his trainer was very talented. He ran at Hydra in a Tackle. He guessed that she would use a Wrap again, and so angled himself in a way which would make it easier for him to escape.

Hydra watched as another tackle was given, and out of habit he prepared himself to use wrap, and he noted that Trevor's tackle was angled differently then before. However, Alexander did not give out any order. No order to dodge nor to attack. Hydra waited, preparing for his order, and as Trevor approached Alexander said. "Hydra, use Poison Sting the instant the tackle hits you!" Hydra hadn't been expecting that, and when Trevor collided with him, Hydra sent out a Poison Sting, again at full power. Hydra was not sure where Alexander was going with the battle as he shook his head, recovering from the Tackle that still hit him.
To Alexander, it had made sense. With Trevor at full charge it would be hard to dodge. Whats more, Trevor was expecting the Wrap, not the Poison Sting. It was to catch him off guard, if Alexander's battle tactic was too obvious it would be easy to beat.

Trevor was partially expecting Alexander to see that he was expecting a Wrap. The trainer suspected that, too, but it was hardly as if a Pokémon like Turtwig would be able to nimbly dodge or anything. The Grass type was hit by the Poison Sting, and was pushed back by the force. The tortoise Pokémon was already weakened by the previous attacks, and this last super effective move was enough to finish him off. Trevor went down, and Hydra had won the battle.
The trainer returned his fainted Pokémon, then smiled at Alexander. "Well done, that was some skilled battling. I'd have beaten you easily with my Cacturne, of course. Er- anyway, you'd do well against my cousin, although her Pokémon are still at a little higher level than yours. Well, see you." he congratulated Alexander on his victory, then walked off.
Hydra gains two levels!

When Hydra saw that he had won the battle, needless to say he rather enjoyed it. It was a new experience, after all. "Good job, Hydra." Hydra hissed happily and with a bright expression as Alexander returned him back into his Pokeball. Alexander then looked up to see that the trainer he had fought was coming to congratulate him. "Thank you sir." Alexander said, however it could be told he wasn't that warm about it, but again he wasn't trying to be mean. He had at least won, even though it would be awhile until his Pokemon were high enough levels to take on the Gym Leader-and win-he had grown closer to it.

Looking at the area around Alexander, a number of options were open to him. He could heal Hydra again at the Pokémon Centre, of course. The gym was nearby, but as he himself had said, he was not yet strong enough to fight in there. He could head back to Route Two to train, but that might result in catching a lot of Pokémon and would take a long while. He could also head over to the Training Centre, where he would be able to train his Pokémon easily by himself.
