{Gym}For Brawn and Beauty{Contest}

Rukia was a little upset when her Fury Attack missed, but pressed on. The Farfetch'd tilted her left wing down and pulled up a little, circling back around til she was once again in front of her trainer and keeping her eyes on both Senis and her, battle partner, Nate. The riolu himself was only slightly pleased as he felt his Blaze Kick hit. He knew this battle would take more that one or two good attacks. As he landed, something make him snap to attention. A new feeling of power deep inside just needing some kind of boost to unleashed. He felt hyper aware of everything around him, even the mood of his trainer behind him. When looked to see Nare preparing her attack, the edges of his fur seemed to a gain a brighter blue sheen, the beginnings of a Counter Attack.

Rukia winced away from the Cranidos when she turned to look at him and found him glaring at her, hard. She felt her defense stat and was torn. On one hand, He hadn't done any damage to her, but thanks to leer her defence was now lowered so everything would hurt more. Bothe pokemon snapped out of their respective thoughts when said gave them their next orders. He saw Nate already preparing a counter. Strange, I was thinking that, too. Sai shrugged and called out," Nate, use counter! Rukia, A spiraling Fury Cutter!" Both pokemon nodded once. Nate took an odd stance with his right arm up and straight, palm aimed towards Nare as the aura around him flared blue, ready to take the tackle from Nare and deal it back twofold. Rukia, on the other hand, pulled her wing back, her body now in a small 'V' shape as she shot forward spiraling, aimed directly at Senis' front. She thought for a second and understood Sai's idea. If she kept this up, aimed at senis's front, she'd drill into the cranidos, possibly do a bit more damage than normal, but if she missed or he dodged to the side, the air sack formed by her rotation would push her away from him and make any counter attacks harder to land.

Nare was hit by the Counter, but since it had only been from a Tackle it wasn't extremely painful. It hadn't hit by much, either, since it had been fired as the Pidgey was flying off, so a very small amount of it had skimmed over her. She was still tired though, panting as she flew. The Counter had been used before the Fury Cutter, since the Counter had been used as soon as Nare had hit Nate. Lunavi frowned. He could see that if he dodged the Fury Cutter, it would be hard to attack, but if Senis was hit, it would do more damage than usual. He could think of a way to fix that. "Senis, don't dodge! Just use a Headbutt as soon as Rukia touches you! Nare, Gust on Nate!" he called.

As Nare the Pidgey flapped her wings as hard as she could, sending the slicing winds swiftly at the Riolu from a close- and likely to hit- range, Senis prepared his own attack. He could see what was happening here. If all went well, the Headbutt should throw Rukia away. The Farfetch'd would be unable to dodge it due to the momentum she'd built up. The Headbutt would deal more damage than usual, too, thanks to the Leer from earlier. However, Senis would take a lot of damage, too. A price worth paying, like Nate's Counter. Senis crouched tensed, ready to headbutt. Once he felt Rukia's beak on his head, Senis would use the Headbutt. It was an almost definate hit.

Nate growled in quiet defiance, he knew that his Counter had barely managed to hit Nare, therefore she hadn't taken the full damage of the attack. He straightened out of his stance, pouting as he panted to catch his own breath. This battle was sure taking it out of him, he'd have to get much stronger if he hoped to stand a chance against the gym leader. He only looked up in time for Rukia to slam into him after being thrown away from Senis. She'd struck as hard as she could with her leak, but was easily hit and thrown by Senis's unexpected counter attack. Both Pokemon tumbled a ways, each being struck halfway by Nare's gust. Nate let out a smalle whine of pain, while Rukia just winced slight and got back into the air, panting. The were wearing down but not giving up yet, both pokemon still full believed that their trainer could find a way for them to come out on top of hit battle

Sai could tell that this battle was getting tougher as it came down to the wire, if he was going to be a coordinator and a trainer, he'd face much tough situations than this, he needed to think more strategically and more creatively. That's it! The umbreon morph's ears perked as he thought of a new strategy." Nate, throw Rukia at Nare and then use Force Palm on Senis as fast as you can." Sai suggested." Rukia use Poison Jab on Nare, focusing your extra momentum." There was only a second of pause as the pokemon digested the orders in the minds. The plan seemed sketchy to Rukia, but Nate, sensing the confidence of his trainer, believed it would work as such Rukia could feel the confidence of the little riolu, which encouraged her to believe too. The two pokemon nodded and Nate took a hold of rukia's legs as the farfetch'd hovered a little above him. The riolu spun around with like a person throwing the shotput, holding on to her legs while Rukia tucked every other part of her body into and aerodynamic shape to reduce wind resistance. Once they'd built up enough momentum, Nate let go of Rukia while facing Nare, the Farfetch untucked her wings a bit, resembling a tiny jet shape, as she used her wings to control her directs of flight, she would unless her leek's poison jab at the last second or whenever she got in range of Rukia. Nate had shot at Senis the second his paws left Rukia's legs, his left paw pulled back and glowing with energy as his legs pumped furiously, the riolu trying to attack Senis as fast as he could.

Senis and Nare were feeling tired as well, that was definate. They could see that it was the same story with Nate and Rukia; it seemed that perhaps the next Pokémon to attack would win. It might be the opponents' turn, but their plan was pretty risky. As Rukia came towards Nare, however, the Pidgey became aware that the Farfetch'd seemed to be using an attack that was likely to hit. The Poison Jab was incredibly fast thanks to the boost, and barely a second after Nare became that the attack was accurate she was hit.

Senis, meanwhile, was facing a more direct yet equally dangerous move. The Force Palm was heading closer and closer to him. The Cranidos was a slow Pokémon, and that worked to his disadvantage. The Force Palm hit, making him topple over. He crashed to the ground, fainted, as Nare did the same next to him. Lunavi was stunned, but returned his Pokémon all the same, a little disappointed. He smiled at Sai. "Well, you're better than I thought, trainer. You might do all right in the gym or the contest hall if you tried them. The gym's to the left on here, the contest hall's to the right. OK, bye!" he grinned, waving as he healed his Pokémon before racing out the Pokémon Center to go somewhere.
