Character
Name: Mario Santana
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Pokemorph: n/a
Appearance:
On his back, there's scars shaped like a snake scattered all over his back. Also, on his arms, there's a burn towards his shoulders since his father 'branded' him as one his punishments. Then, on his chest and abdomen area, there were two more snake-shaped scars. One for trying to run away one time and the other for not eating his food. His legs have a black burn mark because his mom 'accidentially' spilled kerosene at his legs.
He wears a stripped red and white shirt, blue drnim jeans, black sneakers and black BMX gloves, fingerless at his knuckles. His eyes are dark hazelnut (well at his right side, his left eye is completely blind because he lost sight of it at the age of four from his parent's beatings). His hair color is charcoal black and his skin color is caucasian, slightly muscular as he tries to keep his traumatic events.
Personality: On the outside, he may be this cold, ruthless person because of his past. All of the calamity in his past ruined his childhood, never enabling his 'instant trust' side, always being cautious about his surrounding.
But..., if you get to know this person long enough, you'll crack open the shell that binds his innocence, always leaving people to believe that he's the same person that they met the first time. He always reminds people this saying: "Never judge book by its cover."
In other words, he has wisdom from his past experiences in his life ever since he left his family.
History: During his first three years in life, his parents were extremely torturous to him. They barely even bothered to care for him. Usually, he would hide in his next door neighbor's house, hearing his parents say about how he was a mistake, that he should've never been born in his life.
His punishments were painful to him. His parents whipped him with a belt, gagged him, punched him, pulled his hair, left him in his room locked without any light, bed, or clothes. Through these times, he spent most of his time crying in his room, crying out for help. But in the end, he always gets punished for whatever reason.
Then, one spring afternoon, at the age of six, he looked at his daemon, Selena, as she was in her ninetails form, staring at him with her innocent eyes as Mario hugged he, sobbing on her fur heavily as she nodded, feeling his sadness as well. ~Listen Mario..., I have a plan. Tonight, when mom and dad are asleep, we escape to the house that's farthest from the village. I wish that we should've left sooner,~ she told Mario as she sighed deeply. Well, sunset was around the corner as Mario looked at his barred-window and waited until nighttime came around.
As soon as the moon arrived and everybody fell asleep, Mario got on Selena's back and they snuck out, trying to be as silent as possible as they snuck out of their house and ran out of the village, running nonstop. By the time they arrived at a house that was far away from the village, Mario was already resting on her and the sun was about to rise.
Selena walked up the steps and barked loudly so that whoever was inside could hear her, panting heavily as she waited for an answer.
Soon, someone opened the door and gasped in horror. Mario's clothes were shredded, leaving him almost nude. "Mom! Dad! You need to help someone!" a girl, around eighteen cried to her parents as they rushed and gasped, bring Mario in as Selena walked in weakly, shifting into a Growlithe. Suddenly, the girl and her parents knew that Selena was Mario's daemon as her mother picked Selena up and walked to the guest room and laid them on the guest bed.
Later that day, Mario finally opened his eyes as he looked at the same girl who answered the door. "Where...am I...? Who are you...?" he asked weakly as he looked at her. "Well, your daemon brought you here while you were resting and I was so stunned when I saw you. Also, I'm Crystal," she told Mario as she looked at him. "Thank you...Crystal," Mario told her and smiled. "Anyways, your clothes are on the desk there and the food will be ready in a bit," Crystal told him and smiled.
After that, her parents, Hikaru and Lia, introduced themselves as they ate. Their daemons were an Altair named Roran (Crystal), Charizard named Eliza (Hikaru), and a Quagsire named Roy (Lia). Each of their daemons were takling to each other while Mario and the rest were eating.
Yes, they let Mario and Selena stay until when Mario felt like he was ready to go on his journey.
Byt the time he reached sixteen, Selena decided on being a dragonite as her settled form. Mario was packing his things that Crystal's family gave to him as he smiled softly. ~Mario dear..., you're sure that you're ready?" "Yes Selena, I'm ready," he told her and smiled as he saw Crystal entering his room and smiled. They talked to each other for a bit and smiled. After that, he went downstairs with Selena and said their good byes before leaving their house to start their jorney.
"Finally, off on our own journey," Mario smiled as he looked at her, seeing her smile and nodded as he got on her back as she flew to where Crystal told them to go, Pine Lab.
Career: Pokemon Trainer
The Daemon
Name: Selena
Form (If settled): Dragonite
Favourite Form/s (If not settled):
Appearance: Selena has her scales covered in maroon, jet black, sapphire blue, and blood red. Her eyes has two colors: gold and emerald, and her wings are snow white and jet black. In this, many people believe that she's part angel, part demon. But these colors represent the emotions and scars from Mario's past.
Personality:Selena carried Mario's pure innocence in his tragic child hood. From the start, she had all of the characteristic opposite from what Mario had. Mario was a cold, ruthless person, Selena was the gal who was friendly to others and Mario, seeing that she's the only person, besides Crystal's family to see his (Mario's) true colors. She proptects Mario from any confrontations and dilema that happens. She's the source that Mario has to keep on living in his life.
