Professor Pine was sitting with an almost-smile next to a popular newlady with a Maril daemon on a news program. The woman looked as though she wasn't sure whether to smile or not. "A major advancement on our knowledge of the strange spirit and, now, soul Pokémon that entered our world through the ancient Ruins of Ranjou at the hands of Team Tsuasa. Leading researcher Professor Pine, famous for inventing Enera's PC system and handing out starter to new trainers, has managed to capture two low-level samples of these Pokémon, and has joined us today to tell us his findings." she said, looking to the Professor. "Over to you, Pine."
Professor Pine nodded. "Thank you, Mary. Now, you should not have heard about this, since we've been keeping a secret to protect the project against Team Tsuasa. I have managed to catch a Spirit Ponyta and a Soul Pidgey, and have made remarkable findings. Firstly, I have noted that the behavoir of the Spirit Ponyta was far more aggresive than that of the Pidgey, seeming to have the basic instinct of hating all things non-Spirit Pokémon. It's mind was intent on destroying and damaging, the violence directed especially towards the Soul Pidgey. Pidgey's behavoir was somewhat protective, as though its purpose in life is to protect every living creature from Spirit Pokémon. The two... well, it's like being enemies is in their nature.
"I did tests and training, finding that the Pidgey formed a close bond with me while the Ponyta continued to hate all living things. I discovered that they are as strong as normal Pokémon and grow as fast, but they can learn moves unique to Soul and Spirit Pokémon. From what I could tell from their DNA, each one learns one of these special moves. The Pidgey knows a powerful beam move I call Soul Ray, while the Ponyta knows a charging move where it coats itself in dark energy, which I've named Spirit Plunge. They also have strange powers; so far, I've found that the Soul Pokémon is able to calm Pokémon, inducing good moods. The Spirit Pokémon is able to do the opposite; inducing intense fear.
"However, the most shocking thing is that they seem to have a limited ability to teleport. Just a few metres at a time, but this is still worrying. A flash of white light indicates a Soul Pokémon teleporting, dark purple-blackness a Spirit Pokémon. What I'm worried about is what if Spirit Pokémon teleport into a house? Think of the damage they could cause." he finished.
"Thank you, Pine. To finish, we will show you images of the Spirit and Soul Pokémon in question- their first time on TV!" the woman finished.
The screen flickered, and changed to the tough looking face of a Tsuasa Grunt. "Here's a warning to you all; Team Tsuasa have the Spirit Pokémon! Bow down to us, or perish!" he growled. The TV flickered, then blacked out.
