Why do you want to be a Mod? Okay… A few reasons. One because I really like to help out with things – no need to be very important, but helping out with a project makes me happy. This site is awesome, so naturally, I want to help. Two, because I have this odd feeling that not a lot of the mods are very active right now, and making you have to do administrating/moderating stuff on an iPod seems very rude and selfish – for me, that is. XD Three because I hadn't dared to apply before, but since someone has set the precedent, I thought, "Oh, well, let's send this up and see what comes of it!" (I am quite obviously not such a brave person, you can tell.)
What do you offer us? Um, I don't know what I might offer that you'd like to make use of, but what I do know is that I am very willing to do things that other people don't want/have time to do. Lately, it has been a rather hectic month, with all the exams and projects piling onto each other, but I will take time to visit the site regularly. I'm willing to mod wild Pokémon, if that's something mods do, as well as do general boring administrative work (as in, not doing the very important work an Administrator of a site does, but just... pen-pushing, paper-shuffling, logistics, that kind of admin stuff). I can do skinning and some basic code tweaking, and if I get time to use the computer I can access Photoshop and make small odds and ends for a skin, if needed (although now I can't, because of said projects). I can mod wild Pokémon (I LOVE doing that!) and spriting (this too! I know I am not even near to being good, but it's something I really enjoy doing.) I can scratch-sprite and edit from sprite bases, so if anyone needs a spite edit/overhaul/etc I can help, though probably no-one would want me to do that. I do think I have good grammar, spelling and punctuation if I am awake enough, even though English happens to be my second language – school really does help, I find. XD I still need to work on nuances and need to be careful about metaphors, but otherwise I am considered to be rather good at the language. Er, that just sounded incredibly arrogant…
What is your experience? Hmm. I have been the admin and co-admin of two sites, though ultimately they fell into disrepair, and I have modded a few sites in my time (some Pokémon, some otherwise). I have been RPing for the past four years, but if you count this period of happy Pokémon Journal roleplaying (those were good times!) that went on two years before I knew of online RPing, I have a bit longer. XD I generally went from modding to skinning to administrating, then I went back to doing the former two, because I really haven't had the time to fully administrate a site of my own (though I am bursting with ideas!).
Roleplaying sample; I have quite a few of different standards, depending on the time I have to formulate a post, the amount of inspiration I have for a proper reply, and how much workable detail the previous RPer has put into his or her post, so here you go (also, no formatting, sadly...)!
Done when I am rather busy:
Done with time on my hands and being an introductory post:
Done when I have far too much time on my hands: (This one is not a Pokémon RPG. The people there are really awesome, so I have lots to work with when replying, and this happens to be one of my flashes in the pan. The vernacular used here is probably a little confusing...)
The last one probably will not occur often at all. XD It's just here because I amproud of it and want to show off trying to demonstrate a range of my abilities, LOL. Also you have seen some of my normal standards, though most of the posts are rushed. XD

Done when I am rather busy:
Rega clapped her hands over her ears at the loud, high-pitched noise. "Aaaah! What's that?"
Leafre, similarly, was stunned by the sudden Supersonic, covering his ear-holes with his own paws. "Pokémon noise! Confusing!" He dropped to all fours after the attack passed, glancing around him in confusion, before blinking back out of it. "Supersonic attack," he informed her. "Confuses us sometimes."
The creature that had produced it appeared. Leafre glared at the Zubat in disapproval. "Loud noise is painful," he stated, clearly unhappy that his Trainer was hurt (though temporarily) by the attack. "Battle coming. Trainer is not happy; I am not happy."
Rega frowned. Leafre was speaking in grammatically incorrect sentences, most of the time. She put it down to his age. The Treecko, after all, was still very, very young. "That's a Zubat. I think he doesn't like you – look out!"
The Leech Life hit its target. Leafre yelped with pain and sank down slightly as energy was pulled from him; however, he swiftly regained his composure, and glared calmly at his now-opponent. "Real battle now." Without waiting for his Trainer, he scurried up a nearby tree, and leapt off its branches in a courageous Pound that, if missed, would send him crashing straight towards Rega.
"Um" was all that the girl managed to utter.
Done with time on my hands and being an introductory post:
"That'll be ten Pokébucks, miss; would you want some toast to go with that?"
Lira, jolted out of her reverie, looked up at the waiter standing at her table. He was setting her table with the coffee she'd ordered; she thought today was a special enough occasion to warrant a small indulgence. She gave him a wide smile and shook her head. "No, thanks, sir, though if you do have bacon, I'd like a bit for Helicase – my Growlithe, I mean. He always loves bacon—"
The puppy in question sat up immediately upon hearing his name and "bacon" strung together in one sentence, ears perked, tongue lolling out. He gave them a morose look and a plaintive whine. //I'm hungry, Lira!//
"—I've been spoiling him, you know. He never touches Pokéfood, these days! I wish he doesn't make it so hard for me to feed him. Well, at least he tolerates ham sandwiches…" Still prattling on, unaware of the mortified look on the waiter's face, Lira pulled out her wallet from her satchel and counted out fifteen Pokébucks. "There! I think these should cover the cost of bacon as well – just a bit will do!" The waiter, wide-eyed, nodded at her and left swiftly with the money. He returned with a small plate of bacon, still wearing a dismayed frown on his face as he set it by the coffee, and escaped before Lira could continue to assault him with her tales.
//Speak for yourself, Lira – I personally could do with a whole bowlful,// complained Helicase. //This certainly won't do! I've been starving since last evening, you know!// All the same, the pup wolfed down his breakfast eagerly. Lira sighed and propped her chin up onto a hand, holding the coffee carefully with the other. She took a sip, decided against replying that Helicase had, in fact, consumed a good portion of her dinner, and recalled her journey so far.
She'd left yesterday morning, trekked through some forests and reached Coriander City only during noon, slightly tired but mostly upbeat and awed by the number of Pokémon she'd seen. Helicase had managed to keep them away from her, but she knew the luck wouldn't last. She found the Pokémon Centre, admired the goods in the Pokémart, lamented her lack of extra cash, and ate her lunch at a nice little restaurant that sold cheap but good food. Her afternoon was spent around the Port, where she met with quite a few foreigners from other regions, and gawped at their unbelievably powerful Pokémon. I'd like to be that, one day, she had thought enviously, steeling her resolve once again. Her dinner was the ham sandwiches her mother had packed for her, meant to be lunch (which she forgot to eat), and she spent her night at the Pokémon Centre. The Nurse in charge of the Pokémon Centre had looked her over doubtfully before allowing her, but her age and the Growlithe by her side must have convinced Joy that she was indeed a trainer (or at least a budding one), and she was allowed in.
Her watch beeped, reminding her that it was time to go visit the lab. Lira gulped down the rest of her coffee, worry briefly clouding her features before being dispelled. She had been putting off that visit since yesterday for one simple reason: she hadn't known what starter to get. She still didn't know. But it was no use procrastinating. Standing up, Lira called to Helicase: "C'mon, boy! We're going!" and tried her best to hide her worry.
They took barely five minutes to reach the lab; really, no-one could've missed it, what with all the signs pointing to it from kilometres away. All the same, Lira was almost nervous when she worked up the courage to rap on the double doors of the lab. Her father had told her that Professor Up was a fine man, but he wasn't really one who made being nice his main goal in life. The girl nibbled on her lower lip as she waited for someone to answer the door. Beside her, Helicase, apparently sensing her unease, rubbed against her leg in a comforting manner.
Done when I have far too much time on my hands: (This one is not a Pokémon RPG. The people there are really awesome, so I have lots to work with when replying, and this happens to be one of my flashes in the pan. The vernacular used here is probably a little confusing...)
She frowned down at him. "If you chase 'em, what'd you get? Them people will just laugh at you for runnin' after a Rat in these clothes. Like as not, they'd cheer 'er on." She pointed to the orange girls and flower sellers threading their ways through the crowd: "Mayhap yer fast enough, mayhap yer not. Still, it might get you closer to the Lower City." Charging off into unknown circumstances was something her Dog trainers had drilled into her about; she, like most other Puppies, knew that it could mean death if you misjudged the enemy's strength. "Ain't worth it. Mayhap one day you might know the area well, but not now." Then, thinking to soften her blow, she added, "Le'ss go Dog that Merric of yers."
The girl blinked at the thought of giraffes and badgers. What, exactly, was a giraffe? It sounded like a slimy, crawling thing. She grinned along with him. Whatever it was, it sounded like a good descriptor. She'd share it with Rudyard, perhaps, when she next saw him; he always loved it when she arrived with a good curse-word or two. It was a joke shared between them, to see who could come up with the best swears for every occasion. Shaking the thought off, she replied, "Sure you can. Jus' don't let the Badger-God get any ideas." Pausing, she pondered: "A giradgernob? Baraffenob?" Shaking her head, not unkind, she continued on, dropping the subject.
Miss Tinner! That would have set Cori laughing to bits. She hadn't once, in her whole life, been called that (well, not in a respectful way); mostly she was just "Cori" and "Corisande" and maybe "Miss Corisande!" to her parents, few friends, and many exasperated household people. "Dog Tinner" was better, but that didn't sound like her, either. She was still a Puppy, only to become a full Dog if she survived the first year. With some guilt, she realised that she had probably been misleading Seaver all along. This sort of overconfidence could get a Puppy and her Dogs killed – that was drilled into her since she began studying at the Academy. Clearing her throat a little self-consciously, she was about to reply when, thankfully, her companion changed the subject. "I've a squire friend I knew awhile ago. He's off in Irismere now, wherever's that, an' he knows 'bout the fiefs. I ask if I can. Helps, I guess." She had thought, at that time, to be careful when addressing nobles, in case one of them decided she was disrespectful. That might put a stop to her career – or even her life. So long as she didn't call a Duke a Baron, she was fine with it, but somehow or other she picked up more about fief colours and locations from various sources. Shrugging it off, she continued the discussion. "It's the Academy. We Dogs start there an' work our way up. If you pass the tests, yer allowed to patrol with yer Dogs." It was a very simplified version of what actually went on inside those doors, but that was the gist of it. There wasn't time to say much else, anyway; they had found Merric.
She couldn't help but stand aside and quietly laugh her guts out as Seaver launched himself onto his cousin and started hitting the older boy. She'd let them handle the family brawl themselves – no sense in getting elbowed in the ribs this early in the Watch – until they resolved it. From what she half-knew and half-guessed, they'd stop within the next few minutes; if they didn't, she'd just have to wade in and whack them – gently! – about the shoulders to stop it. Thankfully, Merric managed to dislodge his cousin. With a glare at her that conveyed more fear than anger, he turned to Seaver, still glaring but less fearful, and spat, "Did you have to bring the Puppy Seevy?"
Ah. Not good.
Meeting Seaver's confused look, Cori bit her lower lip and resisted the urge to rub the back of her neck in chagrin. Instead, she gripped the older page about the left elbow and hauled him into the less-populated alleyway, signalling Seaver to follow. The commoners going about their daily business had stopped, out of curiosity, to watch the boys. On the off chance that a crowd would build up, a pair of Dogs (and mayhaps even their Puppy!) might come along. That was a situation to be avoided. She shoved her way through a pair of middle-aged mots, replying to their complaints at the rough treatment with a "Move off, trollops – nothing to see here". They were soon back in the shadows of the alley, a safe distance away from prying eyes.
Releasing her hold on Merric, she shot an apologetic glance to Seaver. "A Puppy's not – well, not a full Dog. A 'prentice, like. We're still learnin'. But that don’t mean we ain't t' be respected," she continued, returning Merric's glare. "You right deserved it, leavin' yer cousin out there alone. He coulda getten bit. I know you lads don't like bein' cared for, but the Lower City's more dangerous than you thought, 'specially to you nobles." Jerking her head towards the general direction of the Palace Way, Cori decided that she had best send the pair off. "Yer not s'posed to wander too far. Palace Way's o'er there. I'd walk you two to the edge o' Patten, but I've Watch Duty to tend to." Giving Merric a gentle push, she softened her tone, unable to resist a jab at the page. "Lead the way, there's a good lad." With a glare at her, he did.
The last one probably will not occur often at all. XD It's just here because I am
