Umm, generally, I was thinking that maybe we could discuss characters here, such as critiquing characters, or bouncing ideas off each other?
Okay, I'll admit to being a selfish prat now, because I mainly wanted all of you awesome people to crit on Xuan for me. As in, what about her irks you or doesn't feel logical? Is she too Mary-Sue, or too Anti-Sue, or something like that? How can I bring out more of her more unique traits in RPG, because I've a feeling I'm not managing it...? How can she changed through time? That kinda stuff. XD
Also I am planning on making like a bazillion new characters -- ahem, I meant, three. One's a student who comes from a family of secretaries and scribes in a parallel world (since this is HDM-based, this might be okay? I dunno...) and she's studying here in the Suitay Academy. (Whooo student characters!! Moar are required liek nao.)
Another's someone whom I've been thinking a lot about, lately: a Zubat-morph with no eyes! That's the one I'm having problems about, since I am not so sure about certain biological and mental features -- mainly whether to just replace his arms with his wings and give a reason why the scientist people want that to happen in the first place, or, what, tiny arms? And clothing and all. XD And how blind echolocating people interpret the world...
The third one's been hovering around for about half a year, even before joining Enera, but I've never decided what to do with him. He comes from a world roughly around the Middle Ages, but a bit more advanced -- it's like they have better healthcare and all, but they still have the system of lords and nobles and royalty ruling over the commoners, and different houses of nobles kind of vying for power discreetly while pretending to be nice about each other, and they ride about battling with old weapons like lances and swords as well as Pokémon. Hehe, weird, I know. They have their own Pokémon starter-thingy who stays with them for their lives, and go out on battles with them, and it's very important that they not die, because the human will be sent into exile if that happens. Or maybe I will replace that thought with the convenient Dæmon, heehee. I don't really know where to go with this idea, now. XDD
Anyways, these are all just examples of what you could do with this thread/more threads like this for your own use (of course, I discreetly bribe you with cookies to comment on those ideas too, but nobody saw anything and I wasn't even here in the first place and what cookies?), etc… So, yay or nay on the character discussions and critiquing?

*ahem* I would like to declare that I love the idea of this board. ^_^
I like your idea on the Zubat morph with no eyes. However, you might have some trouble replacing his arms with wings, since if he'd be able to fly, you'd get into the the whole 'cheating because he can move around without the HM' thing, so I'd probably just stick to arms, ears, the lack of eyes, and fangs. Maybe he could have small wings that would be useless or something, or would just let him glide or hover? Regardless, I think you'd be able to do a LOT with a character without eyesight. The main problem though is Pokemon battles; since he wouldn't be able to really see what was going on in the battle, and he would probably have to be echo-locating every few seconds or so since the Pokemon move around so much. Not to mention if dust or grass flies, that would mess up echolocation. But it would be interesting to write about all the same. =] You could possibly have his dæmon help guide him.
Hmmm...I guess feedback on Ajax would be nice (or amusing, at the very least. XD Do the pictures in his application help break up the monotony? Hehehe). I have another character I'm typing up too, but I still need to quirk him somewhat as his dæmon's development is incomplete.

Ahhh, yes, that part... Hm.
I'd probably go with him needing to eat a lot just to sustain short periods of flight... But hey, that gliding thing is pretty awesome. I'm doing no eyes, very large ears, and membranous arms. So, no powerful abs. XDD
Yup, I was planning on fun battletiems. XD I just need a reason for him to be making the effort, and why he's here in the first place... That will take some thinking.
I shall feedback on Ajax at the next commercial break... D:

I really like the no-eyes Zubat morph idea! I would love to play him, but you took the idea already XD Would his Daemon have eyes? And battling with him would be awesome ;D

Generally when I make characters, there's always 5 components I typically consider as a standard; Name, Appearance, History, Powers (if they have 'em), and Personality. Obviously here characters can't really have powers, even if they're Pokemorphs, but all parts are pretty important. There's no real systematic order I go in, though; usually one or two just come to me and then I have to consciously work on the others. Heh.
Very large ears sounds good. I can't quite remember what Zubats look like at the moment. [/blockquote]

Pfff, doubleposting, you say? *Eyebrow* What evidence hath thou?
In any case, here's my thoughts on Ajax: AWESOME. I love the fact that he's asymmetrical, kind of. XD I have this tendency to make my characters bilaterally symmetrical, and it gets boring after a while, heh. Also, he's made an honest mistake and got punished for it, which isn't something that happens often with OCs. I like that.
((Pictures are AWESOME. I parrot myself.))
I also like blindly-loyal people a LOT. It reminds me of ancient China and all. I have a special soft spot for people like that. *Squees at Ajax*

When it comes to characters, I tend to prefer ones which are normal humans who have been giving a hard time (like little Noah, I just love him!). I also like those charries, like Noah, who you don't know why but there's something about them you just love. Pokémorphs with weak/bad/afraid to use powers. Like someone who can control fire, but only works on tiny sparks and candles. Or someone who's power is to, I dunno, spit dirt. Or like my charrie, Sulteron, who is scared of her mild psychic ability.
Speaking of Sulteron, does anyone like her?

Ahh, I see. I do like those characters, too, especially about being afraid to use their powers. It makes sense.
I love Noah too! He is very, very cute, and very, very young. <3
I like the fact that Sulteron's background goes all the way back to her parents'. It gives a nice explanation for why she's a 'morph and all, but I think you could have maybe focused more on her own history too? I mean, it's very, very nice, but it feels slightly top-heavy to me... O: Never mind that.
Yup, I like her as a person. ^ ^
((FML, scanner's not working... D: Wanted to get a Zubat-'morph ref. page up.))

X3 It's funny, because I actually tend to not like blindly loyal people, especially when reading because I eventually find them irritatingly stupid after a while. For some reason, though, I enjoyed the idea of Ajax being blindly loyal. Funny the way the world works. XD As for the asymmetrical part, I wanted it to be, "One arm for guarding and protection, one for friendship," which goes with the whole 'two sides' business. ^^ And I agree, I quite like Noah, too. XD There's just some way in which his profile was written and he was written that draws me to him, so I applaud Fluffy for that.
Oh yeah, and as for Xuan, I enjoy how even though she's a Weavile 'morph, she's stocky, since that doesn't fit with the whole "jumping around and slashing" image that Weaviles have. I also like how she's a pokemorph but doesn't really have much to show for it aside from the jewel. I think that in her history you could have added more story, though; you were kind of getting to it during the paragraph where she enters the classroom for the first time, but for example, you could have maybe elaborated more on her experience with the Ekans, or the first time she successfully gets the pokemon to trust her and then breed? But overall, her cool demeanor is excellent.
As for Sulteron, I think it was clever to make her afraid of her powers, which helps avoid unfairness when battling (since if a character could read the minds of another in battle, they'd learn all the other trainers' battle strategies and soforth). Like Krows, I think it's cool how her history starts with her parents as well. The escape from the lab is well done, especially since it's in story form, but I think the way that Denkou rejects her is kind of abrupt, considering all they've done together. Also, perhaps adding a little more on her guilt as she stays with the old lady? But all in all, Sulteron is a solid character. ^_^ It's a pity none of our people will ever meet her since she's farther ahead in her journey.

Mmm, yes, good point! :D I will do something about her history.
We should totally have this event where everyone gets to meet everyone else. Like... a party for the... 60th anniversary of... a random organisation! Yeah! *Epic fail*
