» Noah made his way from the lab to route one as Erik, as he had come to nickname his eevee, and Donner, his hot headed dæmon, walked along on either side of him. Erik was telling Noah about himself and having Donner translate for him as they reached the beginning of the route. At that point he stopped talking for a moment to take in a deep breath and look around happily. "Truth be told, I always thought I'd end up a trainer's pokemon, you know? It never occurred to me that I'd get to be a breeder's starter. I don't mind though! I always wanted to have a lot of sons! Maybe a little princess too, but first I've got to find the right queen!" Erik said happily as Donner looked at him quizzically.
» "Don't pokemon usually take multiple mates?" He asked looking at the little eevee as if he had just spoken some unknown language and Noah looked over, wondering what the topic had shifted to exactly.
» "Well sure! But not me! I want to fall in love with my one girl and stay with her for forever! Like humans do! Don't you want to do the same thing, Noah?" Erik asked, starting to look a little confused himself. Donner grumbled to himself before translating the conversation for Noah, who consequently blushed.
» "I.. um.. I don't really like girls..." He muttered looking away from his pokemon in shame and wringing his hands together.
» "Boys then. Fine by me, I think I had a brother who was gay as well. Haven't seen him in a long time, but he was ever so nice an eevee I ever met. in fact in most cases I prefer gays to straight guys, much nicer for the most part." Erik nodded at his own statement while Noah was turning redder the more Donner translated. "Anyhow, my point is I only want to mate with one girl ever."
» Noah was about to say that he could respect that when he heard a rustling from near by and looked around curiously to see what it was while Donner informed Erik that he was a loony, something Erik just laughed at.

The puppy was hungry. He had eaten just that morning, true, but how he longed for another bite of that sweet, sweet Apple! It had been pure luck that he'd found a small Apple tree that still bore one hidden fruit, shielded from foragers by a bundle of thick leaves. The pup had been lying in just the right spot, and he'd seen it. It was the work of another two minutes to snap the branch, and he had gobbled down his treat rather too quickly for him to enjoy it. Now, feeling rather empty-bellied and wishing for another Apple, the Poochyena nosed along the ground, ears down forlornly.
He perked up at the sound of voices and footsteps. Raising his snout, the Pokémon sniffed the air, identifying a human and his Dæmon, as well as something vaguely feline. Not a Skitty, definitely, and not a Meowth either. He hadn't met one before. Giving them no more mind, he wandered away, searching for another Apple tree—
Wait!
What if that human had food?
The Poochyena thumped his tail, clearly pleased by his "quick" thinking. He'd shadow the trio for a few hours, see if there's anything worth taking from them. Humans always had all manners of tasty treats with them – sausages, Berries, sometimes that strange food called a "sandwich", which consisted of some filling spread between two pieces of white, starchy material. Lolling out his tongue, he retraced his steps. A bush rustled when he tried to push past it, and he leapt back guiltily, staring at it for a moment before continuing on. The Dark-type picked a way through the brush and quietly assumed a position at the rear of the party, sniffing the air for any signs of food.

(warning! My muse is still pretty dead xD) » As Noah glanced around the bushes and trees, seeking the source of the rustling, he kept glancing at shadows and couldn't really spot anything that could have made the noise. As he continued looking ahead though someone else found the cause of the rustling first.
» "Gotcha!" Erik called playfully as he snapped himself around to face the puppy pokemon, having scented him on the wind and recognizing the scent from the laboratory. He lowered his front half playfully, wagging his tail like a puppy himself, but not doing it quite like a dog causing him to look amusing. Noah stifled a giggle while Donner just burst out laughing and rolled to the ground, shifting into the form of a Mime Jr. and rolling around in that form.
» "What?!" Erik asked incredulously, standing back up a little too late to save his dignity, but at least he had looked adorable. He now looked confused and a little insulted though and he stuck his nose up in the air at them. "Well I am just an eevee! I can't be a dog if I'm feline like!"
» Noah and Donner shook off their amusement and tried to recompose themselves. Donner recovered first, strangely enough, and instantly turned back to the poochyena. "So, Pup, what do you want?" He asked in a rather big brotherly tone, being in a good mood so far about all of this.

The Poochyena leapt backwards, stumbling and tripping over his four paws in his hurry. He hadn't expected the brown, furry creature – the cat-but-not-quite-a-cat – to sense his presence, and the "Gotcha!" had come as a rude shock. He immediately realised the reason, though: He had forgotten to check the wind direction, and his scent had probably blown across to the party. Stupid! He told himself. This sort of thing could get a full-grown Mightyena killed, never mind a pup. His hackles raised in fear, and he let out a small growl that was more of a yelp, expecting an attack at any moment.
Instead, he hear thumping sounds, followed by laughter. The pup blinked. His presumed opponent was wagging its tail playfully, apparently meaning no harm. The antics had sent its Trainer and his Dæmon into hysterics – the Dæmon had shifted forms and was rolling on the ground, laughing. The Poochyena felt himself grin at the sight, and let his tongue loll out in a friendly manner, thumping his tail against the ground in return.
The brown Pokémon drew itself back and ceased its actions, throwing a sour look at its companions. He followed suit, but kept the grin on and the tongue out. So it's called an Eevee, he thought. Such a strange, strange name! The Dæmon, apparently recovering himself, shifted yet again into Poochyena form. The pup felt his grin disappear at the Dæmon's next question: "So, Pup, what do you want?"
Worried yet elated, he swiped his tongue over his muzzle. This was his chance! "Food," the pup answered carefully, giving them his best puppy eyes. It wasn't hard for him to look adorable when he needed to, being a young canid. Who could resist those eyes, those drooping ears, that sadly-thumping tail? "I'm sooo hungry."

» 'Oh!" Noah said as he looked at the poochyena's adorable expression and pulled off his backpack to look inside of it. He always had juice with him of course, but his stock was low at the moment due to a lack of money, however he did have a few peanut butter sandwiches from a nice lady who had found him sleeping in a park one morning earlier before he even had Erik. She had told him to take good care of himself and had aided him a lot.
» Counting the remaining amount of sandwiches he had he discovered that he still had four from her, and they were probably going to go stale soon if he didn't eat them, despite his plan to make them last. Sighing he decided that it would be better to share them now then to have them go stale later.
» "Here!" he said, pulling on of the sandwiches out of the bag and kneeling down beside the poochyena, holding it out at full arm's length so that it was about a foot in front of the pokemon's nose. "It is a little chewy, but I think you might like it." Noah smiled gently at the pokemon and Donner shifted into a ralts, the form he often took when Noah was feeling happy but shy. He too smiled, but at the fact that since his human had gotten Erik and really started this journey, he seemed to be happier then usual.

The slow, baleful wag of his tail quickened as he saw the boy reach into his pack. Food's literally on the horizon! thought the Poochyena, allowing this tongue to slip out again in a panting whuff of approval. The pup leaned down and placed his head on his forepaws, large eyes never leaving the boy and his pack. Oh, pleeeaaaaase, hurry up!
Sure enough, he'd brought out four of those "sandwich" things, only that the scent was more foreign to him. Sniffing the air and wrinkling his nose as he tried to identify the smell, the puppy pinned it down to some kind of nut. He'd never tasted it before. Still, it really did smell good. He allowed himself a soulful bark, pinning his ears down flat again, the very image of a starving puppy.
"Here!" At the word, he sat up a little (though still being careful to maintain the entire sad-dog act; it wouldn't do to act overeager, would it?) and nosed the sandwich a foot or so before him, whining softly. "It is a little chewy, but I think you might like it." He licked the edge, then, and discovered that he indeed liked it. The Poochyena snapped down the food with a few large bites, licking the crumbs from his muzzle as he finished the last strip of peanut-buttery bread, tail wagging so hard that he almost wagged himself along with it. This human was awesome.
"Thank you! I absolutely love it!" Yapping, he carefully trotted forwards, licking at Noah's hand. The Dæmon shifted again, this time into a Ralts, but he paid it no more attention than a careful look and a slight hesitation in his wagging. He suddenly wanted to follow the human; if it meant a steady source of food, he was willing to fight for the boy. And fight he certainly could! Puffing out his chest, he proudly barked, tail still thumping against the ground, "I could come along and fight for you if your Eevee could best me in a fight!"

» Noah smiled at the poochyena as it gobbled up the peanut butter sandwich happily. He was glad he had been able to make the puppy pokemon cheer up, however he was surprised by its next request that Donner translated.
» "Oh, um I don;t know about that..." He stuttered, not really wanting to fight the pokemon he had just befriended and fed. It somehow felt wrong to him that he might turn on it so easily. However Donner and Erik were both of other opinions.
» "I can do it!" Erik said happily, wagging his tail once more and looking towards the poochyena challengingly, but playfully, confident that his own skills would be superior. "He won't stand a chance!"
» Noah hesitated even more though and Donner looked to him with steady eyes. "This is what you'll have to do all the time. You might as well get started now with someone who even wants to be fought. It is this or be with your father again." Donner hated purposefully scaring Noah like that, especially as the young boy cringed but he knew that it was something that had to be done.
» Reluctantly still but now knowing it was what he'd have to do, Noah turned towards Erik and nodded, the eevee, smiling and getting ready for the small challenge ahead of him.

The Poochyena's tail drooped slightly when he thought that his request was to be rejected; it went back up again when the Eevee stepped forwards, claiming that he could battle – and that the pup wouldn’t stand a chance. He bristled at the comment, hackles rising, and let out an angry little growl at it. How could that cat-thing speak of him as such? Planting all four paws squarely on the ground, he watched as his opponent get ready. Apparently the first hit was for him.
Raising his muzzle to the sky, the Poochyena let out an eerie, haunting Howl, feeling his blood course through his veins. This was the blood of the ancients, the wolf-gods who once roamed the land! He was not going down so easily, that was for sure. Dropping his Howl, the pup glared straight at the Eevee, before charging straight at it with a Tackle. "Take that!" He didn't know if he was going to hit, but in any case, he was confident he could manage to land a blow in the near future, and his attacking power already felt stronger. It was the Eevee who wouldn't stand a chance!
All his opponent, and the boy and his Dæmon, needed to do was to impress him with their skills. It wasn't a fight to the death, certainly, but the trio didn’t know that yet, and he didn't plan to let them. This way, he could take measure of his master-to-be in a much truer way.
