»The day was still young, with the sun raising over the horizon slowly in a beautiful show of nature, as Noah watched, his sketch book in his hands, contemplating if he should copy the beautiful sunrise. He flipped through his pages, seeing a few of the ones he had seen in the past, all different but similar at the same time, just like this one would be if he drew it. He longed to, but he had already taken a month to get this far, and now he was finally here, yet he was being distracted.
»"Come on, Noah." Donner said, affectionately nudging his leg with his dark brown eevee muzzle. It wasn't often that Donner took the form of an eevee, as they were usually much too happy to reflect Noah's personality correctly, even though he had been in that form when he was born, but today he felt Noah's hyper excitement, and the dark form of an eevee had come naturally to him today.
»Donner thought on it and figured he wouldn't mind settling as an eevee, and probably would have by now if Noah's personality hadn't changed so drastically because of his father. Yet now he was sure he would never settle into the form, nor would he likely stay in it much longer since they were now headed for the lab and if the professor was a male, Noah would probably close up again into a shell of himself.
»Noah was, thankfully not thinking of that at the moment, as the sunrise was too pretty for him to not be smiling his sweet but rare smile. He felt an excitement growing in him and wondered what his starter would be like, though he wasn't wondering what it would be, for his mind wasn't thinking on that, much like he never wondered about what Donner would settle into. His mind was too creative for him to really think of staying with one thing ever, much less to comprehend the idea of his dæmon settling.
»Upon Donner's encouraging push, Noah turned his attention away from the sunrise, happily picking his dæmon up, cuddling him close to his chest protectively and for support as well. He looked around the small village he had just reached the night before, and made his way to the only building that could possibly be a lab. He looked at it for a long moment before going into it with Donner in his arms, looking around anxiously in the lab for someone to talk to. His face looked both nervous and excited, yet Donner could feel that he was also very wary of who might appear.

ooc// Aw, I don't know why but I just love Noah!
ic// Professor Pine was inside the lab, and was near the door too. Noah seemed to be having a lucky day today; freedom, lovely surroundings, a new chance and a new companion. The Professor answering the door just seconds after he had knocked was a bonus. However, perhaps his luck was turning; true to Donner's fears, the Noctowl dæmon on the Professor's shoulder was a female, the shoulder making her perch a strong male one. Still, Pine himself looked friendly enough, smiling a warm, gentle smile. Noah was younger than most of the people he'd seen here, but he didn't mind.
"Hello, welcome to Pine Labs! I'm Professor Pine, and this is my dæmon, Telepa. Do come inside!" he stepped sideways to allow Noah and Donner to enter, and it became noticable that in his arms was a little Pokémon. A pink furred round Water type, with little ears, buck teeth and a cute smile. Once inside, Pine stroked the strange Pokémon's fur. "If you were wondering, this is one of the Beavern we breed specially for starters here. It's very rare, but this one's a shiny. It's very young, only just able to leave the lab. It's likes its hugs, see?"
Pine tried to put the Beavern down, but it compained and jumped back into his arms again. Telepa hooted in laughter, and Pine shook his head, but a smile was on his face. He looked up at Noah. "Well, as you can see, we have all sorts of Pokémon here. Pretty much everything, in fact. Which would you like? You can see a few, if you want." Pine offered, stroking the Beavern who closed its eyes in delight. Pine seemed like a nice guy.

» Donner cringed back into Noah's chest a little as he spotted the female, Noctowl dæmon on the professor's shoulder, yet he feared more for how Noah would react as he look up at his human's face, trying to judge his emotions from their weak bond and his face. Yet Noah seemed slightly in a daze of his excitement. He visibly paled at the sight of the man, yet he only clutched Donner a little tighter and took a deep breath, lowering his eyes away from the man's.
» However his attention was drawn back up to the professor's own arms when he was invited in and he felt his face showing his nervousness and slight embarrassment. Not wanting to be rude he accepted the invitation and came into the lab, being careful to keep as far from the professor without seeming as if he was avoiding him. Donner rolled his eyes, wishing again that Noah wasn't so polite and would just go with his instincts to stay away regardless of other's feelings.
» Noah watched the special little pokemon in the professors arms, smiling shyly at the demonstration of its need to be held, yet still keeping away from the professor. Donner glanced at the pokemon once before looking around the lab for any other pokemon that might be near by, Noah didn't need to be holding any pokemon, he had his dæmon. At least that was what Donner thought jealously at the idea of being put down in favor of a cute pokemon.
» "Um... I'm Noah, and this is my dæmon Donner... He doesn't like sharing me too much..." Noah said shyly before catching his slip up of revealing Donner's gender. He paled some and clutched Donner tighter, the dæmon glaring at the professor's dæmon, as if challenging it to say something about it. Noah tried to speak on, but his voice was caught in his throat and he felt his shyness closing in around him. Donner, still in his arms, suddenly shifted forms into an aron, dropping to the floor from Noah's arms at having become too heavy to hold.
» Donner grunted as he was dropped to the floor and growled a little. Looking up at the professor he stepped in front of Noah to protect him from feeling so embarrassed and make their point. "The point is we need a starter. Preferably something pretty tough but who won't be unruly or unwilling to protect Noah here." Donner glanced over at Noah with an evil grin and turned back to the professor. "Maybe something as cute as him so that they don't look too mismatched." Noah blushed at the indirect statement that he was adorable.
» It was a joke meant to lighten the mood, for Donner didn't really want Noah to have any cute pokemon that he might like better then his own soul, yet his voice never really sounded like he was joking when he was. "So yeah, if you have any pokemon like that do you mind letting us meet a few of them? We'll want to get to know them for at least a few minutes before knowing if they are right for us."
» Donner felt Noah's wish that he wouldn't always take charge of the situation and he only scoffed. 'if I didn't take charge we'd never get this done in any reasonable time." He thought in a sarcastic tone as if anyone could hear his thoughts. Though eying the Noctowl he reconsidered his thought that no one would hear it. She might have. If he had still been in eevee form that would have caused him to bristle. Noah felt his discomfort and knelt down to lay a hand on his head, giving their bond a slight boost for the moment to allow them to share their fears together.
» "Donner is a bit dramatic, but I do need a tough pokemon that can protect me." Noah said shyly in a very quiet voice. "I- I don't really know much about pokemon, but I'm willing to learn quickly. I plan to be a breeder, so having a really rare pokemon to start would be helpful as well..." He said, looking at the professor's eyes directly for the first time, trying to look brave and able for the job.

Professor Pine thought about this for a moment. It was clear Noah hadn't done much looking into it, but by his age and the bruises he could occasionally see, he had left home in a hurry. It was understandable that he hadn't thought about getting a Pokémon much, then. The Professor would help him find the perfect one, then. So, he'd find Pokémon for Noah based on what he needed for a change, seeing if there was a Pokémon he liked under his needs.
The rareness and cuteness instantly made him think of Eevee, but they weren't known for being tough. There was also Cubone, which weren't as cute or rare but tough. Then Snubbull. Snubbull weren't extremely rare, but they were all the other things! Then, a Spheal? Yes, a Spheal would do. And perhaps something from Enera, too... a Tigrily and a Taleo came to mind there.
Pine took out a book with photos of all discovered Pokémon in, flicking through until he found photos of Eevee, Cubone, Snubbull, Spheal, Tigrily and Taleo. "OK, These are Eevee, Cubone, Snubbull, Spheal, Tigrily and Taleo. I think they meet your criteria, although some are rarer than others. Do any of them take your fancy? In fact, while you're at it, you might want to flick through and see if there's anything else you'd like. If you select a few, I can show you them." he offered, handing Noah the book to look through.

» Noah took the book from the professor tentatively, being careful as he did so not to make actual contact with the man. He looked at the pictures in the book and smiled shyly at all of the pokemon that had been suggested to him. In his opinion they really were all cute. Donner's form shifted again, this time into a small, dark pichu and climbed his way up Noah's leg and side onto his shoulder to look at the pokemon too. He frowned at the sight of the spheal as he himself hated water, yet all of the pokemon looked like ones he thought Noah would like.
» Noah however wasn't too keen on being buried to his wait in strange new pokemon, so he decided to stick to a one new one and a few he had heard of. Before completely making his decision though he flipped through a few more of the pages as the man had suggested and his eyes caught slightly on strange pokemon he'd seen before in books at his old school. It was a dog like pokemon, often called the disaster pokemon due to its strange ability to sense impending doom. Something in his made him curious to meet one, though he wasn't sure he'd want one as his starter.
» "Umm... could I meet an eevee, a spheal, a taleo, and umm... one of these please?" He asked, holing up the picture after having chosen the other three to meet as best he could. He was nervous about meeting the new pokemon, taleo, but he was more anxious about the ones he did know about as they were just as likely to have strange personalities as the new one. He took a deep breath, steadying himself as he felt a wariness from traveling so much and becoming so anxious coming over him.
» Donner jumped from his shoulder and shifted into the form of a munchlax, plenty big enough to hold up the tiny Noah. Donner was worried about his human. The long travel hadn't been easy and he knew that nightmares had been riddling his sleeps, yet due to their weak bond, he wasn't sure how bad it was. He worried now that it might be getting worse, yet he and Noah both did their best to look strong for the professor, lest he think Noah too weak to become a breeder. Donner hoped that one of the pokemon that would be shown to Noah as a possible starter might be able to cheer him up, cause Donner was too distracted by too many things to do it himself right now.

Professor Pine looked at the Pokemon Noah had pointed at. An Absol? He was surprised the kid had come up with that, since Absol weren't exactly known for being cuddly or friendly. Of course, Noah didn't know that, but if you stripped down the knowledge and went for looks, Noah's other choices had been small and cute while Absol were large and although their looks were well liked, they weren't generally described as cute. "That's an Absol, sometimes known as the disaster Pokemon because they can sense natural disassters. They're not the friendliest of Pokemon, but should be able to ptotect you easily." he explained.
Right, now to show him the Pokemon he wanted. Eevee, Spheal, Taleo and Absol, right? Yes, that was what he'd been asked for. The man walked over to a point in the room where a tall filing cabinet stood, opening a drawer and searching around inside. Telepa scoffed angrily at the mess. ~You really ought to keep those drawers tidier, you know.~ she frowned at her human. Pine simply rolled his eyes, grabbing four Pokeballs and closing the door again. He straightened up, giving the little Beavern a good stroke since it had become suddenly restless.
OK, now it was time to actually show Noah his choices. Professor Pine released the four Pokeballs. The Eevee seemed to be the playful sort, rolling about and skipping around Noah with great excitement. Spheal was a different colour to normal- a shiny Pokemon. It rolled closer to Noah, sniffing him with great curiocity. Taleo looking a little aggresive, standing away from the boy and glaring at the Absol. The Absol gave a snarl in return, making Taleo retreat closer to Noah for safety. Absol lay down and groomed itself, smiling. It nodded in respect to Noah, but continued to watch from a distance, seeming to be a smart and strong Pokemon.

» Noah lowered himself from Donner's shoulder to a kneeling position on the floor so that he could pet the eevee and the spheal gently, though he worried slightly about the coloring of the spheal since it was so different. He didn't want to stand out in a crowd, lest his father find him, and if he kept the spheal at his side that was bound to be what happened. So at least he had narrowed the choices down to three, yet from here on the choice making would be harder.
» As Donner watched the taleo he noted that, though it seemed somewhat aggressive and yet retreated from the absol, it must have good instincts for it backed up towards Noah rather then the professor and it knew the absol was too big for it to take on at the moment. Knowing Noah was going to be alright for a moment Donner to a second to shift forms into one of the taleo and see how exactly it felt to be one. In doing so he felt a possibility of much power, but also felt the likelihood that the power to defend Noah might be a long way in coming. Still it was the most common of all of these pokemon and that was something to think on.
» Enjoying the sensation of testing out each of the possible starter's forms, Donner did so for the absol and the eevee too. He started with the eevee, and felt something extremely strange. It felt as though in this form his form might change at any moment if he was exposed to almost any sort of conditions. A wide array of possibilities came from this pokemon, yet he also felt that until one of those changes came about, it would not be the strongest possible choice. He thought on that before shifting forms again into the absol.
» Noah was watching his dæmon curiously while giving the eevee a good scratching behind the ears. He wondered what Donner was thinking as he shifted from one of these pokemon to the other. Then when he saw him flash out of the absol form as fast as he had shifted into it, he was both worried and curious. He looked at his dæmon, his hand stopping and resting on the eevee's head while he gave Donner a puzzled look.
» Donner looked at Noah, and shook out his fur as he had returned so quickly to the eevee form that he was loathe to feel the way he had in the absol form. It had felt as if he could hear echos of things to come, such as screaming and crying, and he hadn't enjoyed it. He had also felt a strange sensation that people would avoid him in that form and stare from afar. It would not at all help Noah to blend in in such a way, no matter how strong that form had felt. He looked to the absol with educated eyes, and nodded in respect, but then turned away from him, knowing that Noah would have to choose between the taleo and the eevee, and also knowing it really would have to be Noah's choice. Donner would help no more.
» Noah watched this all with slight confusion, but he looked between Donner and the absol he was walking away from, and got the point somehow. Looking between the two little fury pokemon, he really wasn't sure which one he should choose. he knew little about eevees, despite his dæmon's birth as one, and yet he knew next to nothing about the taleo except for its name and what it looked like. Though he did know one last thing for sure. The taleo was much more common then an eevee and he would do well to take it instead of the eevee. However, he would not take him from the lab against his will if he did not wish to come, nor would he abandon the eevee if it truly wanted to come with him.
» Giving the eevee one last adoring scratch behind the ear, he stood up and stroked the taleo's back from behind, hoping to get his attention away from the absol. "Alright you two, I need to know which of you would like to come with me. If you do, I promise I'll do my absolute best to train you well, even though I plan to become a breeder. However I'll also need to to protect me and the rest of our team well, so you'd have to be willing to become strong. I don't think I am a great person to be around, but it you want to come with me anyways, please let me know..." Noah felt a little foolish, but at least he had given them a choice, and he wouldn't feel as if either of them hated him if they decided to come with him. He hoped though that this was allowed, he didn't really know that much about getting a pokemon from a lab.

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥The Pokémon watched Donner try out various forms. Absol smiled as it saw his reaction to being one of its own kind, tossing its mane a little. Taleo seemed a little nervous at all the form changing; it might be a sensible Pokémon, but it was also quite a timid one. Eevee, on the other hand, seemed incredibly excited at all of that. It sniffed Donner curiously, wondering how he did that. The little fox was clearly a curious sort of Pokémon.
Pine could see that Noah had narrowed it down to Eevee and Taleo. "Well, Eevee are rarer than Taleo, so that might make it a better choice for a breeder. Then again, Taleo seems easier to take care of..." Pine muttered to Telepa, trying to figure out which one he would end up choosing. Of course, it seemed he had let the Pokémon choose; something which Pine thought showed a good, loving character. This boy would without a doubt make a fine breeder.
The Taleo thought about this long and hard, as did the Eevee. Taleo wasn't sure if it wanted to leave the lab. Fighting and exploring the great outdoors... no, it wasn't sure if it was ready for that. As much as it loved this boy, it didn't feel ready to go on an adventure. To be honest, it was a little frightened at the concept. ~I don't really want to, but hopefully when I'm stronger we might meet again.~
the Pokémon smiled. Eevee, on the other hand, was bouncing about excitedly. It too had taken a liking to this trainer and was deeply interested in his dæmon. Plus, adventure would be great, and it'd be able to protect Noah! ~Yes! I'll go with you! I wanna protect you forever and ever!~ the Eevee squealed, knowing Donner would be able to translate. Telepa translated what had just happened to Pine, and the man nodded. "All right, then. It seems that Eevee has chosen to go with you. Tell you what, when a trainer picks up Taleo, I'll let them know about you, OK? Then you can meet again!" he smiled. Taleo seemed keen on this idea, at any rate. The Professor then returned the other Pokémon to their Pokéballs, leaving Eevee out. He handed over Eevee's Pokéball, placing the others in the drawer. He then passed over some starter's items, smiling. "I can see by the way you treated the Pokémon just then that you have the makings of a fine breeder. Well, goodbye! Good luck!" he waved; time to head onto Route One. » Donner watched the two pokemon thinking and felt either would do fine for Noah if they felt they could do it, however he also thought he saw worry on the taleo's face just before it spoke. He nodded to it and looked to the eevee, suddenly worrying that neither would be up to it, but the moment he looked at the eevee he knew they were going to be fine. He listened with a bit of a smirk, then turned to Noah and relayed the information.
» Noah felt a surge of joy and noticed that Donner was no longer having to force himself into the form of the eevee, but was rather in it once more because of his good mood. It made Noah feel a little guilty knowing that his dæmon was often limited to forms that didn't suit him because they suited Noah's own mood. However he didn't let the thought sink in for fear he would cause Donner to shift again.
» "That sounds great!" Noah said happily, but quietly at the idea of getting to see the taleo again. He glanced at its pokeball in the professors hand and smiled as the taleo was recalled. However he then had to take his attention and put it onto the pokeball of his own that he was now receiving, the one for his eevee. He ran that thought through his head again, but was interrupted by the professor's complement. He swallowed and felt himself beginning to turn red. "Th-thank you..." He said as he picked up the eevee in his arms, which for him who was so small was an armful, and made his way off towards the first route, hoping to meet more nice pokemon, though he hoped he wouldn't see too many people.
