The Guardians of the Fryn

In the beginning there was the heaven and the earth... or was there?In the beginning there was nothing for there was no beginning, only an ever looping eternity. As destined over and over this eternity begins and ends with the six, the three, the one, the whole, the nothing, the whole the one, the three, the six.

The six, better known as the Fryn, are the guardians of the earth and the universe. They lived in peace with time and space until the dawn of humans. At that point they suddenly found that humans were passionate creatures with a strange curiosity and intelligence that was growing to a similar sort as their own. Most of the Fryn were wary of this, but one, Alyan, the protector of life at the time, was curious about the humans and went to live among them for a time.

Alyan stayed with them for years, and at that point the others began to worry and went in search of her. When they found her they saw that she had given birth to a set of twins, one boy and one girl, whom were half heavenly creature, half human. It was uncertain what the Fryn were to think of this until they noticed that the girl child was shriveling and torturing away, a sickness of spirit tearing her apart from the inside slowly. Upon finding this out Jynto, the protector of death, was forced to take her life for her own good. Upon that day love relations between humans and the Fryn were banned forever.

Her daughter killed, Alyan took her own life, forcing Jynto and Kyrin, protector of the earth, strangely female at the time, to call upon a replacement Fryn, who was created at great costs to both other protectors. Fearing the humans in their weakened they sought out Alyan's son who was strangely strong, unlike his sister, for protection for a while. He agreed to protect them and upon agreeing this he bonded with Kyrin to be given extra powers to protect them and there in becoming the first ever guardian of the Fryn.

While they had only ever planned to take him on as a guardian for a little while, they soon had to take up another guardian each as they found out something horrible. By having bonded with the Fryn, Alyan's son had gained an immunity to their powers as well as gaining some of their powers himself, but the power had driven his soul mad and he had turned evil, loosing all sense of right and being driven by nothing but to eliminate the Fryn and cause the destruction of the universe and eternity. The only way they could protect themselves and all of eternity was to take up more guardians.

What they found after this though was that they had created a horrible cycle, for not only did Alyan's son turn dark with the power, but so did every other guardian eventually. Yet there was no way to protect everything and everyone else but to take up more guardians every time. They came to call the ones that went evil the Gryx, a truly ancient word meaning destroyers, just as Fryn itself means protectors. The Guardians themselves were never given a special name, but rather left in plain human tongue to always remind the Fryn that they were too distant and different to come close to as anything except guardians and guarded.

What are the Fryn?

---

-The Fryn are angelic spirits who venture the earth protecting it in various ways, each Fryn taking a different responsibility.

-There are only ever six Fryn alive at one point in time. They are the protectors of Earth, Life, Love, Spirit, Birth and the Young, and Death and the Old.

-There are always three female and three male Fryn to keep a balance. Usually the protectors of Life, Love, Birth and the Young are the females and the protectors of Earth, Spirit, Death and the Old are male.

-If a Fryn is killed two of the others, one female and one male, must preform a summoning sort of spell that brings about the creation of a new Fryn. The new Fryn will take the past one's place, but it takes time for the summoning spell to work and it takes a toll on both of the callers. When the new Fryn is called into existence the two whom called it are not seen as it's parents as humans would likely have thought, instead they call each other their siblings and nothing more.



What do the Fryn Look Like?

-The Fryn have many spiritual forms. The forms they take upon the earth are usually only those of animals, though their size is always larger then that animal and they tend to stick to birds and mammals.

-Their eyes also give them away from not being actual animals by their distinct resemblance of human eyes.

-The Fryn all have pure colored fur coats and feathers, though the color differs with every Fryn and stays the same from form to form. For example if a Fryn were to change into a human form their eyes would remain the same color and their hair would take the same color as their fur or feathers, though they rarely take human form.

-Though the Fryn hold the power to change their given earthly forms to almost anything they like, they choose to remain in animal like bodies for three reasons. They feel safer in such bodies, animals would be less suspected by humans, and their human guardians won't be nearly as likely to accidentally fall in love with them.


What are the Fryn's Powers?

-The Fryn have many powers the best known of which are extraordinary speed and strength, telepathic powers, and their ability to call upon that which they protect to help them.

-Since the Fryn cannot speak to others directly they use their telepathic abilities to speak with each other, their guardians, and the Gryx.

-One of their most unusual powers is that they are able to give similar powers to humans and in exchange form a bond with those humans that will allow them to use the humans to further protect themselves and the thing they themselves guard. They also draw strength and purpose from their bonds with their guardian.

-A Fryn can only hold bond with a single human at a time and thus can only have one guardian at a time.

-The Fryn's telepathic powers include telepathy, minor mind control, and to some extent the ability to move objects without touching them, though this only works with simple or small objects.


What are the Fryn's Peronalities like?

---

-Though the Fryn are all as unique as humans are, they all have a few unchanging similarities.

-Unlike mortal humans, the Fryn do not have the ability to be either good or evil, their beings have no capacity for evil acts or selfishness. They are purely good and do what they have to do to protect what they are supposed to protect. This of course doesn't mean they can't lie or do bad things, they can as long as it is to protect their responsibility. An example is the Fryn who protects Death and the Old. He cares for the elderly, but also makes sure that their is a balance of life by taking lives that are destined to end but are for some reason not.

-When a Fryn forms a bond with a human they come to care deeply for that human in a way that is almost stronger then paternal love. Even if they won't admit it they will always care deeply for their guardian.

-Fryn are stubborn creatures who will sometimes create a fake personality of some sorts, such as a tough guy personality, to cover for some other fault they feel they have.

What are the Guardians and the Gryx?

---

-The guardians are humans, often without any families or who are being abused, who are chosen by a Fryn to be their protector.

-Each Fryn has only one Guardian so there can only be six guardians at a time.

-When the power of being a guardian drives their soul into darkness, and they turn on those they protected, the guardians come to be known as the Fryn. The guardians are not told that they will become the Gryx, for fear that they would leave their Fryn, who would be left defenseless until they turned into a Gryx anyways, to try and escape the fate, however once bonded, a guardian will never escape the fate of becoming a Gryx.

-The Gryx are driven by nothing but a desire to destroy the Fryn who caused them to become the way they are, their soul withering and dying. While they are immune to the powers of the Fryn, they have a certain expiration point each, depending on the Gryx, at which time their soul will completely fade away and they will die.


What do the Gryx Look Like?

-The Gryx look like normal humans in exception for their dark colored or black irises.



What are the Gryx's Powers?

---

-The Gryx are immune to Fryn powers, though not Guardian powers as they are too close to their own.

-Gryx can preform mind speech in a similar manor to the Fryn, but tend to give those whom they speak with head aches.

-Gryx, unlike Fryn, if left with a guardian for too long, will absorb their powers rather then giving them to the humans. In fact because they are usually jealous of the current guardians, they will often attempt to do just this.

-The Gryx's telepathic powers include telepathy, delusion inducing, and to some extent the ability to force their own ideas upon a human as if they had been the human's own, though they can't force a human to act on these ideas.

-The only true weakness a gryx has against a guardian is that they attack hastily while the guardians have a gift of quick thinking and sanity.


What are the Gryx's Peronalities like?

-The Gryx's personalities remain, as a base of their mannerisms, much the same as when they were human, however their morals are gone and their main goals are to destroy the Fryn, often after realizing that the ones they protected have caused this change in them.

-Unlike mortal humans, the Gryx do not have the capacity in their shriveling and dying souls to care much for others, and near their expiration, they will not care at all and will kill almost anyone and anything that gets in their way.

-When a Guardian becomes a Gryx they often loose much of their santiy and there for can often be quite insane.
