"~ To get a pokemon, you have to go to a lab?" Sky asked landing from her soft glide from 4 feet off the ground. She had never really liked labs, not for any reason, though. She simply didn't like them. "~Perhaps this one will be nice,~" Cloud commented quietly from his form as a Staraptor. The human looked douteful, but shrugged away the look in a moment. the Staraptor pokemorph fluffed out her wings before pulling them tight against her back and taking a half-melted chocolate bar from one of her pockets to eat it.
Moment's later, when she finished, she turned back to her daemon, who was currently in the form of a mightyena. "Ready?" she then questioned. Cloud nodded and Sky walked up to the door, brushed the hair off of her eyeand watched as it flipped back, and knocked softly, her hesitation preventing her from a louder one.

Professor Pine was deep in his work on the far side of the lab, his face close to a stack of papers as he scratched out notes he had been meaning to copy for a while now. However, Telepa, being an owl, heard the faint knocking. Flapping her long wings once, she glided over to to Pine, landing on his shoulder and shaking him slightly. ~Pine, you ought to get up. There's someone at the door~ she told him, squeezing him with her strong talons slightly to rouse him from his note-taking. ~Go on, get up. We shouldn't keep them waiting.~ Hooting softly, she bent over him slightly and ruffled her chocolate and mocha colored feathers, peering closer to the papers he was writing on.
"Goodness, I didn't notice!" The Professor stroked his dæmon's wing softly as he stood up, taking care to close the ink bottle before he left the back of the lab. Another trainer was coming; what would they be like, what Pokemon would they choose? He enjoyed seeing these young people starting their journeys, and this was a momentous day for all of them. With this thought in mind, he hastily strode to the door with Telepa on his shoulder, opening it with a friendly smile. "Welcome to Pine Labs! I'm Professor Pine, and here on my shoulder is Telepa. I assume you're here for your first Pokemon--do you know what you would like?" He held the door open for them to enter as his Noctowl dæmon clicked her beak in a greeting to Cloud. [/blockquote]

Sky glanced over at Cloud quickly before entering the building. "Kinda-sorta," she began thoughtfully, studying the room, "I'd like something that fly's, or something that's small and light." Cloud, still a Mightyena, nodded respectfully at Telepa. "Oh," the human added, "I guess we should indroduce ourselves. I'm Sky, and he's Cloud." She smiled. Her daemon was right, it wasn't too bad here.

"Something that flies and is small and light?" Professor Pine said, stroking his chin as he thought. Telepa stayed on his shoulder, hooting a soft reply to Cloud. "Well, Telepa here is a Noctowl and can fly, but she's not so small and light." He laughed as Telepa cuffed his ear with one of her large wings, and then turned serious again, scratching his head. "Flarepup can fly and are small and fuzzy, but they get somewhat larger when they hit their final evolution, called Burfox. The same is true with Tigrily and Beavern, but they can't fly. Pidgey, Spearow, Taillow and Starly have wings and are able to fly, but they get to be bigger, too...Kitu can't fly, but they stay small their whole lives," he reeled off, looking apologetic. "I'm afraid there are quite a lot of Pokemon that fit into either the 'small and light' or 'flying' category."
~Pine, don't bog them down with so much information,~ Telepa hooted, flapping over to a few drawers and rifling through them, coming back with two pocket-sized books; one was labeled "Cute Pokemon" and the other labeled "The Majestic Flying-Type." She offered them to Sky and Cloud, hovering in front of them and saying, ~Perhaps you might want to look through these? Hopefully you'll find the Pokemon in there that you want.~ Pine nodded in agreement, happy with the solution his dæmon had come up with.

Sky nodded every so often, listening to Pine speak. You could tell he had been doing this for a long time, and he enjoyed it. "Well," she smiled shyly, "It could be small and light, or flying." She took the books as Cloud turned into a starly, flying to her shoulder. IT was always better when he was one from that line, but she didn't think she would want one for a starter. She began with the book labled "The Majestic Flying-Type," and found Pidgy, Chatot, Taillow, and Flarepup. Then she flipped through the book labled "Cute Pokemon," finding Kitu, as stated before, Pichu, and Vulpix.
"Could I see," she began, "Pidgy, Talliow, Flarepup, Kitu, Pichu, and Vulpix? And if you have a shiny Kitu, could I see it, too? Sorry to ask for so much..." The one's she picked either had wings, or were small in size, and easily carried, but could still walk, if it so choosed. She also took the time to look breifly at their evolutions, if she could find them. She noticed that both Vulpix and Flarepup where fire, but decided to look past that, if not for only that day. Cloud nodded at her choiced, wondering what they would end up choosing.

"Of course," replied Professor Pine, smiling as he watched Cloud and Sky flip through the books. He was used to seeing Pokemorphs at the lab, so he was used to strange limbs and odd appendages, but he had to admit that Sky's wings were quite majestic looking, even if they were folded tightly closer to her back. Telepa said nothing, closing her eyes and staying on Pine's shoulder until Sky made her requests. Straightening up, Telepa nodded as Pine explained, "It might be a tight squeeze once I let them out of their Pokeballs, but I think we might be able to fit in all those you have requested." Walking over to the cupboards, he rifled through them for a few minutes before coming out from behind the bookshelf, his arms full of Pokeballs. Dropping them on the floor, the room shone brightly with red light for a moment until all the Pokemon had been released, and suddenly the air was full of chirps and the occasional mewing noise.
All were surprised to find themselves suddenly on the lab floor without any forewarning, although some took to it differently than others. The Pidgey seemed used to these kind of unexpected surprises and looked around itself, chirping and shifting a little closer to the rest of the Pokemon, clearly feeling more comfortable with the others. The Vulpix shook itself, sitting down a little ways away from the rest of the group, without a doubt a loner. Meanwhile, the Pichu glared up at Cloud, tiny sparks of electricity glowing at its cheeks as it cried, "Pi! Piii! and let out a huff, wondering as to how Cloud had managed to get himself up so high. The Flarepup seemed quite intelligent; although at first it had been startled like the others, it looked around keenly and then padded up to Sky, watching the person with its head tilted to one side in curiosity, opening and closing its wings and giving a small yip. Meanwhile, the two Kitu, shiny and normal-colored, seemed to be engaged in a play-fight. They rolled around the floor, mewing at each other until the shiny broke away, licking its blue fur and watching the rest of the Pokemon. Finally, the shiny Pidgey flew right up to Cloud, but in its haste, flew too close to one of the machines and clipped its wing, crashing to the ground. It didn't seem to be hurt, though; instead it chirped happily, launching itself into the air once more and circling Sky, partly friendly and partly wanting to show off its odd-colored feathers.

Sky blinked a couple of of times after the light before studying the pokemon. Pidgy seemed like a group sort of pokemon, while Vilpix seemed the opposite. The Flarepup seemed nice, despite being fire, the Pichu exited and curious. Both the Kitu looked friendly and energetic. The shiny Pidgy appeared friendly, but slightly a show off. She brushed her hand lightly on the flying shiny Pidgy's breast as it went by in the air, then moved to the Flarepup, bending down and petting it's back. She patted the Pichu and stroked the Talliow after petting the Pidgy. She then placed her hand on each of the Kitu, though the blue furred one seemed to have silkyer fur. She turned to the Vulpix, nodded with a smiled, wondering if it would mind going with her, though she still didn't know who she wanted.
"Well," she said, talking to the pokemon, "I guess I should ask who would even want to go with me, huh?"

The shiny Pidgey initially veered away as Sky brushed its feathers, but then closed its eyes, enjoyed the gentle touch. Landing on a countertop near Sky, it clicked its beak, fluffing its glimmering chest-feathers. "Go with you? Of course, why not! I love the idea of an exciting adventure!" The Flarepup gave another yip of happiness as Sky patted it, coming closer to sit by her feet and looking up at her eagerly, long tail wagging from side to side. "You mean, be your Pokemon? Train and evolve, see the world? That sounds interesting," it mused to itself, closing its eyes to imagine the life it might live. Since the trainer had wings, it would even be able to practice flying, too! This sounded like a good opportunity. "I'll go," it offered, standing up confidently. Pichu beside it simply glared at the Flarepup, and its cheeks continued to spark aggressively, although it lowered its ears and looked surprised as Sky patted it. It looked like it had been too busy glaring and hadn't heard what Sky had offered.
The Taillow, who had stayed silent at the center of the grout at first quivered timidly as Sky stroked its feathers, shrinking back a little. Clearly, it didn't want to go; the thought of the outside world scared it a little. Perhaps later, but not now. As for the Vulpix, it had nodded back serenely and politely to Sky and Cloud, but did not move toward or away from her; it seemed like a cool and collected Pokemon, not one to fret about the journey presented or show any excitement for it. The Pidgey chirped again, looking upward as it thought about Sky's offer, then gave an honest, "I'm sorry, I don't think I'm ready to be away from the main flock here yet." As for both the shiny and normal Kitu, they bounced up to Sky, exclaiming, "We'll go! We don't mind! We both want to go with you and your dæmon!" The shiny Kitu struck a pose, trying to look tough, while the normal colored one somersaulted, trying to get Cloud to laugh.

Well, that narrowed it down a bit. The shiny Pigdy, Flarepup, and both Kitu all wanted to go, though the Vulpix seemed neutral about it, the Pichu didn't seem to hear her. When the Kitu tryed to impress her and Cloud, she laughed a bit, while Cloud, not really one to talk, simply smiled. "Well, I don't know who to pick," she confessed, shaking her head slightly, turning to the professor, "Do you have any suggestions, by any chance?"

Professor Pine had been grinning at the Kitu's antics, and he jumped a little as Sky asked his opinion. He shrugged, while Telepa explained, ~We like to give newcomers their own chance to pick their Pokemon, since we don't want to press anyone into a choice.~ She flapped a little, moving from Pine's shoulder to a nearby perch to observe the Pokemon, hooting a small greeting to the normal colored Pidgey, which had been looking a little nervous after saying no to Sky outright. The Taillow, meanwhile, flapped to Telepa, casting an apologetic look at Sky as it landed on the same perch as the Noctowl dæmon, shifting behind her somewhat as if she was hiding from the crowd of Pokemon on the floor.
Pine considered Sky's inquiry. "Well, as Telepa said, I can't really give any concrete suggestions. You'll just have to go with how your heart feels, and what your dæmon, Cloud thinks. Which one of these Pokemon can you think of being a close partner and friend? Watching the Shiny Pidgey land close to Telepa and flutter its shiny feathers, he chuckled a little. "Are you thinking of going into a certain field of study? That might help you narrow down your choices. For example, if you want to be a Coordinator you might want to choose that Shiny Pidgey, since it seems to enjoy showing off its flying and its feathers. If you want to go into battling, I'd suggest Flarepup or Pichu as they evolve into quite powerful Pokemon, even though Flarepup doesn't stay small, as I mentioned before. Kitu ends up becoming pretty strong in its higher levels, too. If you want to be a Breeder, any of the ones who seem to have accepted your invitation would be good choices, although Kitu may be a bit common. Are you perhaps looking for a certain personality?" He smiled apologetically at the normal-colored Kitu, who danced towards him grinning; it didn't seem to mind much.

Sky shook her head. "No, I suppose not," she replied, listening to Pine. She glanced at Cloud, hoping for his opinion, and he flew to her shoulder, still a Starly. ~I think we should choose either the Flarepup, or a Kitu,~ he told her, ~You will meet other pokemon on your journey.~ The human nodded in response, closing her eyes to think a bit. "I'll go with..." Sky began, opening her eyes to get one last look at the pokemon, "Kitu." She smiled at the shiny dancing Pokemon. She wanted to be a Breeder, but also a trainer, and maybe even a Coordinatior, so Kitu seemed a good choice. Besides, Flarepup was still a fire type, and that wasn't her faveroite, though she didn't hold that against the one here. "If you'd still like to," she added.

Pine nodded, satisfied. "A fine choice." The shiny Kitu was cheerful, but tough; it would make a good companion for the flying 'morph and her dæmon, and he appreciated how much thought Sky had put into studying the Pokemon and making sure that she chose what would be best. Returning all the Pokemon to their Pokeballs, he deposited the pile into the drawer from which he had gotten them, keeping the Shiny Kitu's Pokeball separate. Retrieving the bag of items which he gave out to people beginning their journey, he handed the Shiny Kitu's Pokeball to Sky, also passing her the items. Telepa flew to the door and unlatched it skillfully with her talons, hooting, ~Good luck on your adventure! You're off to Route One!~

Ooc:// I'm really sorry Silk, but I'm not sure how Birdy coded the 'Code' part that she usually gives out to people. XD; It's a table of some type (I tried to view the source, but it was in HTML form) but I can't figure out how to make it, so I'm afraid you're going to have to wait for Birdy to give you the code. ; Again, apologies! Speaking of which, when you see this, Birdy, can you please PM me the code for giving people their starters so you don't have to come fix it again? Thanks.
Edit; I fixed the coding. ^_^;; Thank Birdy & Silk!

Sky smiled. "Thank you," she said, while Cloud nodded his appritiation. The human and her Daemon counter part went back outside where the sun was drifting off towards the horizen. It would be night, soon, but that was ok. They liked the night, and even the darkness that came with it.
OOC: Right next to the "Quote" button, there is one that has "#" and is the coding button.
