Ulixes stepped off the bus she had got on after Proffesor Pine's lab. Zack, her daemon, was at her side- op, nevermind. Lets start again. Zack, her daemon, was up in the air, enjoying the feel of wind under his Staraptor feathers. A Flarepup was at her side, exited to finally be out of the lab. the human had put her Styler in an her unused, right, waist pocket; her items were at her left, but in a lower pocket that zipped. Her Pokeballs were at her belt, off to the side. She was a Ranger, and a Breeder, and was currently attempting to find the Ranger Base in this town, and failing miserably at it.

 Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Someone thought nothing of Ulixes as she walked past them with a Flarepup at her side and her dæmon flying above, although not too high because of course if a person went too far away from their dæmon they would feel an intense pain as if being ripped apart. They were a little puzzled, though, when they noticed her again, recognising the cute little Fire type first. They frowned, deciding that maybe she was just tracing her steps or something. However, the third time she walked past, the man realised she must be lost or something.
He stood up from his seat in the café, moving towards her with his Meowth dæmon clinging to his back, front paws resting on his shoulder and head looking over the top of said shoulders. He smiled at Ulixes, realising that her dæmon must be trying to help her find whatever it was from above. "Hello? You look lost, and you've walked past here at least three times already. I know this place pretty well. Would you like me to give you directions?" he offered.

Ulixes looked over at the man and his Meowth daemon. "Huh? -Oh! Hi, and yes, please. I'm trying to find the Ranger Base, here, if you don't mind showing me where it is, that would be awesome. Zack flew down and landed as a Poocyena, on the opposite side of Flarepup, whom Ulixes was trying to come up with a name for. She smiled, hopefully at the man. "Thank you," she added, "In advance." She wasn't always the best to thank people and make conversation.

OOC: No problem; been there, done that  IC: "This road? Ok, thanks!" Ulixes smiled, begining to walk off in the direction he said, waving behind her, "Have fun, with whatever your doing!" She began to jog, Flarepup at her side, Zack flying in the air above her. She turned left and passed the Pokemon Center, and slowed down to a walk untill she took the right and walked in. She went up to the counter, her daemon as a Talore. Flarepup climbed up and sat on the counter as well. "Uhhh.... hi," she greeted the person, not exactly knowing what to say. |

She smiled, looking at Ulixes with blue-grey eyes. "Hey there." she said, wondering why the girl hadn't introduced herself. That made things so much harder. Well, she was too calm for someone coming in here with a problem- they were usually tear stained and sobbing. She couldn't be a ranger, either, since she didn't recognise her.
Yet still, the woman could see a Capture Styler on the girl! That meant... oh! "Oh, oh oh! You must be the new ranger, Ulixes! Hi, Pine told us about you! My name's Mary, and I'm the Head Ranger of this base! It's so great that Pine finally sent a ranger this way, he's mostly been sending them to the other towns!" she grinned, her Quilava dæmon nodding at Zack.

Her daemon nodded back at the Quilava soul, smiling as well, though looking less nervous. "I don't really know how to use this, though, so I don't think I could really qualify as a Ranger, yet." |

A little lesson was something she could give, then Ulixes would improve through practice. The woman took out her own Capture Styler, unsure of where exactly to start. "Well, you probably know the whole waving lines around the subject of capture, right? Here, I'll demonstrate." she said, turning to her partner Pokémon, a Zangoose.
Turning her styler on, she waved it round, lines of light appearing around her partner. "The Pokémon can move and break the line, or attack it, which will make it freeze for a moment or so." she explained. Zangoose moved forwards to touch the line, which then broke. He then attacked it with a Scratch, and the Styler shook in Mary's hand. "This can be avoided! Once a ring is drawn, the Pokémon can't break it; they have to break an unfinished ring if they want to make you start from zero. By drawing the rings wider as the Pokémon moves, you can stop this." she nodded, demonstrating that.

Ulixes grinned. "Wow!" she gasped, "Thats so cool! But how many rings do you need to capture a Pokemon?" She had watched as Mary drew the rings, andit was typical for her to come up with a question like that. "And," she began again, "What happens when the Pokemon attacks the ring too much? I saw your styled shake…" she was interested with this, but she still wasn't sure how good she would be.

Some people were unimpressed with a Ranger catching Pokémon, others actually went to watch them do that. Ulixes thinking it was cool was definately a good sign. The woman was happy to answer the girl's questions, pleased with her enthusiasm. "The number of rings varies depending on how useful and strong a Pokémon is; for example, Magikarp only need one ring, but something like a Salamence might need as many as twenty three. A legendary would probably take something in the thirties! If a Pokémon attacks the Styler too much, at first the Styler will be disabled for a longer time, then the batteries will start to wear out and you'll need to recharge it. You can recharge it with certain electric Pokémon, but the Pokémon you were trying to catch would probably escape." she explained.

Ulixes nodded. "Awesome," she breathed. She thought for a moment, and exchanged a look with Zack. He always was the one to ask the question, push a little farther, go first into a dangerous place. And she didn't mind. She'd always follow close behind. ~When can we gat started?~ the daemon asked with a bark, still a Talore. "And we're still allowed to catch Pokemon, to be a Breeder and stuff, right?" the human asked curiously.

"Yes, something like being a breeder you'd be able to manage. If you wanted to be a trainer or coordinator, that would be so much harder. Breeder's fine. So long as you don't go round catching Pokémon constantly, since that would disturb missions." she nodded. Now, as for getting her started, she thought she had just the thing.
"I think I've go a decent first mission at hand. On Route One, there's a fallen tree blocking the home of colony of Rattata. I'd like you to head over there and catch a Pokémon that would be able to remove the tree in any way; burning, chopping, shifting, whatever you can find. I reckon Flarepup won't manage that itself, but it'll be able to help you during capture; the flames might make the Pokémon you're trying to catch flinch. Do you accept the mission? If you're sucessful, you'll be made an official ranger and given your first star rank." she asked.

"Cool," Ulixes nodded, listening to the offer, "I can do that! Want us to go now?" Zack nodded as well, exited, "This'll be great!" Route One. They had to go back a bit, but that was ok. They could help the colony of Rattata for sure. Plus Flarepup got to help out, he could try his paw at burning the log while the other Pokemon she got did whatever else it could do to get rid of it.
