Ulixes hung out aorund the building. She had heard it was were Pine lived, and he gave out Pokemon to new Trainers and Breeders and stuff. She sighed loudly, obviously bored. ~Why don't we go, now?~ Zack, her damon, asked. The human shook her head. "I want to explore," she told him, stepping out into the open, but moving silently. She could speak fluently enough to Pokemon, now, that she could ask some questions, but she still missed some words.
She made it to the side of the building and climbed up, Zack flying up to the top as a Pidgey. That was the form he was born in, and was one of his faveroites. She sat at the top, observing the area around them.

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Up on the roof of the building seemed to be empty. However, there then came a cry. It sounded like one of a young Pokémon, and a pretty confident one at that. The sound of little paws rushed up to Ulixes, and a Pokémon came into view. It was reckognisable as a Flarepup, the Fire type part of the Enera starters. The Flarepup raised its wings to make itself look bigger, looking a little curious and ready to get rid of the girl if she were a threat.
Flarepup then stopped, tucked in its tiny wings and smiled. ~Hello. You should get down; Pine doesn't like people climbing all over his building. It's extremely rude! You should know better; this is private property!~
it said calmly. This Pokémon was a pretty inpedentant one. At that moment, the door to the labs opened and Pine looked up, his Noctowl dæmon hooting in anger. "Flarepup, get down from there! Hang on, is that a girl up there? Hey, I'd prefer it if you didn't climb on my buildings! You could hurt yourself!" he called up. Flarepup leapt off the side of the roof, tiny wings barely slowing its fall until it landed heavily into Pine's arms. The Professor sighed, shaking his head. "If you wanted to come inside, you should have just knocked. And don't mind Flarepup, it's just very daring, a little over-protective and likes to explore. No idea how it managed to get on the roof, or how a trainer's ever going to take it... anyway, speaking of taking starters, I assume that's what you came for? Come inside and tell me which Pokémon you'd like." he told Ulixes, walking inside the lab with the Flarepup following.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

"Sorry," Ulixes replied to the Flarepup, "I didn't know." She hadn't, she hadn't grown up enough around people to know that kind of stuff. She stood up and walked to the side of the house, pausing for a moment before jumping gracefully down to the ground. She padded to the open door, hesitating, wondering if she should enter. She never even got to see him, and she didn't trust people right away. Zack few down and turned into a Talore as he hit the ground.
They entered. It didn't seem too bad. There was a Noctowl in there, on Pine's shoulder, and they guessed she was his daemon. "My name is Ulixes, and this is Zack. I only know of a few Pokemon I might want to see," she said, "A Taleo, a Pidgey, a Starly, a Flarepup, but I've already met you, a Houndoor, and maybe an Absol. Oh, and a Skarmory, too, please. Sorry if that's too many, but I don't know alot about them. If you have any suggestions, please show them too." She smiled nervously at him. "Also," she added, "I've heard about different careers some people have; could you tell me about some of them?"

Pine listened as Ulixes listed all the Pokemon she wanted to see. His eyes glanced down to the Flarepup as its name was mentioned, since that made it smile. The Professor debated with himself as to whether or not they wuold let seven Pokemon to be viewed rather than the normal four or five. He would probably be able to deal with six, but as many as seven would probably be trouble, since that many Pokemon were bound to have fights and all sorts going on. But equally well, he didn't want to disappoint the girl. He moved over to the filing cabinet which stored the starter's Pokeballs, and after a little digging around saw that there were no Absols. "I'm afriard we don't have any Absols right now, they're too rare." he told Ulixes as he released the other Pokemon.
Flarepup moved over to Ulixes as the Pokemon were released, head flame blazing to show the others it wouldn't allow harm to come to this girl. Taleo padded over, sniffing them curiously. It took a few steps back before moving closer to the girl, seeming to be sweet but a little timid. Pidgey cooed as it was released, puffing up its feathers and flying onto a tabletop were it could watch the others safely. Starly copied it, although when it landed the protective Pidgey cooed in warning, to the sensible Starly fluttered to a different table. Houndour seemed to be an action sort of Pokemon, sniffing the ground as it walked towards Ulixes. When it was reasonably close, it barked in greeting, hopping from one foot to another as it smiled. The Skarmory, on the other hand, was quite grumpy and aggresive. It gave a metallic screech, walking toward Ulixes with an angry expression, as if to attack her, until Flarepup growled protectively which made it roll its eyes and walk off to preen itself. Which would Ulixes choose?

Ulixes watched as the Pokemon were released. Flarepup seemed protective, along with Pidgey, though it was less so. Taleo appeared nice, but a little timid, same with Starly, while Houndour was the active playful type. Skarmory didn't seem nice, but rather cold and somewhat harsh. Zack took similar intrest in the pokemon, flying over them as a Pidyot. ~Well,~ he began as his human bent down to inspect and pat the Pokemon individually, ~Who would be willing to go with us, in the first place?~
He landed on Ulixes's shoulder as a Pidgey while she petted the Flarepup, then the other's in turn.

The Pokemon all heard Ulixes ask who was willing to go with her. Pokemon in the lab generally tended to get bored after a little while, wanting to go along with a trainer or be released to the wild as quickly as possible. All the Pokemon in front of Ulixes seemed to give a positive response to her question. Skarmory shrugged, Taleo hesitated before beaming and nodding, Starly fluffed up its feathers, giving a firm and energetic nod. Pidgey, Flarepup and Houndour bounced up and down, saying ~I wanna go with you, yes please~ and so on in unison.
Professor Pine smiled at the Pokemons' reactions, his daemon translating what the three squealing excited ones were saying. Perhaps Ulixes was having a little trouble deciding? He might be able to help. "If you're having trouble, you might want to imagine how you'd get along with the Pokemon and how it would perform in a battle. The movesets, too, might help; feel free to check out one of the books on that table." he offered, waving a hand at an array of Pokemon books spread out on a table.

Ulixes grinned at the responses. She had no idea who she wanted to bring along with her! She nodded at the proffesor, movign over to the books and scanning the covers. She turned back to Pine. "Could you tell me about some of the jobs and stuff people do?" she asked him, "I've heard about some, but I don't know anything, or much, about them."

Flarepup, Pidgey and Houndour followed Ulixes over to the books, Pine watching. He enjoyed watching a trainer pick their starter, since it was interesting to see which sort of person pocked each sort of Pokemon. This one seemed quite sensibly making sure she picked the absolute best one. He was happy to answer her question, too. "A trainer travels between cities and routes, levelling up their Pokemon so they might challenge the eight gym leaders and finally the Elite Four and champion. A coordinator is focused more on appearance than power. When they travel, they look for contests to enter. In these, they show off a Pokemon's moves they turned pretty, and fight keeping it looking good too. A breeder enters breeding shows, where they make their Pokemon look nice and show how close one another are. They focus on breeding for better Pokemon; egg moves and so on."

Ulixes nodded, though she wasn't facing Pine. She ran her hands over the book covers thoughtfully. "Isn't there something callled a Ranger?" she asked, then, flipping through a book filled with Enera-region-only Pokemon. Taleo was there, along with Flarepup. She set it down and picked up one that had a Houndour in it, reading it's Pokedex entries and such. She didn't care much about that, but she wanted to be doing something wile she thought. She didn't know who to choose. This was harder than she thought.

Pine blinked. Oh, right, rangers. He hadn't mentioned them because he had thought that she might not be as interested in that caterer path. Well, it seemed that she might actually be, from what he could see. "A ranger is incredibly different to a trainer, coordinator and breeder. They do not catch Pokemon in Pokeballs; instead, they use Capture Stylers to temporarily have them at use to them. They have a partner Pokemon, too, who doesn't go away after doing something in the drips. A ranger gets missions from Ranger Bases. Also, if you're stuck on a starter, try to cross out some Pokemon from your options and it'll be much easier.

Ulixes nodded, interested, as she continued to scan the books. She picked up one labled 'Enera Exclusive Pokemon', seeing Taleo and Flarepup in there. Both got wings, or kept them, in their respective cases. "Could you have two at the same time, for example, a Trainer and Breeder, or Ranger and Trainer, or more than two?" she liked the Trainer, Breeder and Ranger jobs, but wasn't sure what she wanted to do. A Coordinator simply wasn't her style. She turned to the Pokemon again, deciding to take Pine's advice. Taleo, Pidgey, Starly, Flarepup, Houndoor, Skarmory. Skarmory was a no, as was Starly. That left Taleo, Flarepup, Houndoor, and Pidgey. "What would each of you want to do, if you were chosen?" she asked the Pokemon.

Pine smiled as Ulixes asked her questions. Well, she certainly was an ambitious one, wasn't she?! Two careers at once, huh? He could see how that might get a little difficult, but he could always see how it could work, too. "I suppose. If you were a Ranger, it would be difficult to be anything else, since the missions are important and it's a full-time career taken on by adults as well as just kids. I suppose being a breeder as well would be easiest if you are a ranger, since that's more managable. Being a trainer and breeder would be fairly simple." he explained to her.
The Pokemon smiled as she spoke to them. Taleo looked a little nervous, but still spoke. ~I would want to do something which means I get a lot of friends to protect me and my trainer, I suppose.~
Flarepup was next. ~I would wanna do something that helps people and to protect as many people as I can!~ it grinned, tail wagging. ~Something I can fight in. Something that really tests my power.~ Houndour replied, looking to Pidgey for the last word. ~Eh, I don't really mind. Just as long as it's fun and active!~ the bird twittered happily, looking at Ulixes daemon and expecting him to translate for her like most people daemons would do. In fact, it was what Telepa was doing right then for Pine.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Ulixes nodded again at Pine. "That would make sense," she smiled. She would probably end up being a Breeder and Ranger. She then listened to the Pokemon, Zack at her side, though he wasn't saying anything. She had grown up and learned the hard way of how to understand Pokemon, though some words still cut out on her. Taleo would be good for a breeder, she thought. Flarepup would do as a Ranger's partner, as would Houndoor, in some cases. Pidgey could do anything. Man, this was hard!

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Pine looked at Ulixes, a little worried for her. She had been taking an awfully long time to choose so far, and seemed to keep putting her final decision off, leaving it for later. Well, she'd have to pick some time, and it was his job to make sure she did in fact come to a decision. "I can see you're a little stuck for choice. I'll give you a little help, shall I? When choosing, sometimes you have to look for the ones you don't want as well as the ones you do. Remember that you can always catch another of their species later on. Take a look at their movesets, too, and type advantages and disadvantages. There are the books on the table if you need them; feel free to look through them for movesets, general behavoir, care, abilities- pretty much everything!" Pine advised her, hoping she'd be able to decide on a Pokémon soon or at least do some more serious analyzing.

Ulixes nodded again, spending another moment looking at the Pokemon before turning away to the books. She'll be a Ranger, and a Breeder, in her spare time. Houndour evolves at level 24. Flarepup evolves at 16, but again at 32. Taloe at 21. Types were Dark and Fire; Fire; and Grass. It took a few levels for Houndour to learn anything; same with Flarepup and Taleo. She looked back to the Pokemon, and met each's eyes before announcing who she would pick. "Flarepup," was her simple answer, and then looking to Pine, "And I would like to be a Ranger, and a Breeder, if possible."
