Demyx wandered along Route Two, or at least what he thought was it. He lost the actual trail a while back, and was now walking through some dense undergrowth, though, he could hear the trickling of a stream somewhere close. Soon, he came upon it, seeing it's blue waters glitter with the setting sun.
What? Setting sun? Oh, no! Demyx thought, I need to get my tent set up! He released his pokemon so they could rest and get some water. He had three pokemon; an Eevee named Dyme; a Munchlax who was currently nameless; and an Oddish, just named Marly.
He soon had his tent out, but not yet set up. He fumbled around with the instructions before realizing he would probably mess it up anyway. He was just like that. He smiled, set the instructions down, and turned to play with his pokemon a bit. Maybe they could help. Before he knew it, a harsh wind blew and the instructions flew towards the forest.
The Vaporeon poke-morph hopped up and ran to catch them but missed.

As Demyx reached up for his tent instructions, he had missed. Oh? Why could that be? They had been just in front of him, then the next moment they were gone. Where could it be? It wasn't in sight anywhere. Well, how odd. Instructions didn't just disappear now, did they? Er, did they? They might do, thinking about what had just happened. But maybe they didn't, thinking about the laws of physics. It was all very confusing, and perhaps it would be good to get an answer.
Oh, wait. Here was an answer, right above his head. An Aipom was giggling mischevously, hanging upside down from a tree branch by her tail, holding the instructions in her paw. She waved it at Demyx and Myde, poking her toungue out. ~Na na na na na na! I've got your paper!~ she chanted in a singsong voice, throwing an acorn at Myde with her foot.

"Wha..?" Demyx glanced around, confused, then saw his instructions, "Oh-! Give that back!" Myde helped, too, of course, being the new trainer's daemon, they had to stay close. "~She's teasing you,~" the daemon told his human, lunging for the paper, at the same as Demyx. He had never been teased by a pokemon before, but he liked the wild Aipom. She was cute and mischievious.

Aipom seemed to love it when Demyx reacted like that. After all, she'd only done it to see his reaction, to be honest. When Myde told him she was teasing him, she grinned. Well, that took a genious to work out, didn't it? They started lunging for the paper, which Aipom really liked. She giggled, blowing raspberries as she waved the paper in their face, pulling herself up when they reached for it. ~You want it? You waaaaant it? Haha, can't have it! Can't have! Hahahahaha! Watch'a gonna do about it, eh?~ she jeered.

"Give that back!" Demyx called, understanding bits and peices of the speech, then paused, glancing over at his pokemon, "Hey-! Marly! Use Sweet Scent, please." He moved out of the way for his Oddish to come through and use the attack; hopfully he could get the instructions back before the sun was fully set.

The pink cloud of wonderful scent drifted over to Aipom, who looked at it curiously. She let out a little grunt of interest, then turned back to the trainer. Meh, it was just a little pink stuff. No harm there. As she moved to tease him again, however, the smell of the Sweet Scent hit her. Oooh, nice. If smells could be pretty, this was a pretty smell. Aipom's eyes half-closed, the monkey very much relaxed. The Sweet Scent had worked without a doubt.
Aipom still didn't want to give up the instructions. She was more willing, though. She just had a condition she wanted Demyx to meet for his side of the deal. She looked at him, then glanced at the sky with a frown. ~Aipom got no place to stay for the night... tell you what, I'll help you get your tent ready. But! You must let me stay the night with you. Do we have a deal?~ she asked, offering the instructions to him. It seemed like taking it would mean he'd accepted.

Demyx glanced at Myde, not quiet understanding all the words. "~She doesn't have a place to say,~" he translated, "~And she'll help you get your tent ready - our tent ready - if she can stay the night with us.~" He smiled and looked back at his human. "Oh! Sure, you can stay with us," he smiled, "Are you hungry?" Taking the instructions, he went to go get his bag, wondering if he had any berries left from Route One. Maybe he could find something for dinner and breakfast.

Food? Shelter? These people were actually giving it to her? Aipom was stunned. After all, she had only been expecting the shelter... but food as well? Demyx was such a nice kid, wasn't he? He was being so kind to her, and she simply didn't know what to say. Trainers had, from her experience and tales, most exagerrated, gained a reputation to be bad and mean. That was why she had thought she needed to use methods in order to gain anything at all. It turned out she didn't, really, which surprised her greatly.
As Demyx walked off to get food, Aipom wished she could offer some food too. Instead, she got to work helping out his Pokémon as promised. Due to her flexible tail, she was a great help in setting up the tent since she could work so quickly and easily.

Demyx went through his bag. The first day of having any pokemon at all. He pulled out a couple of berries and found one of those broth bone things. "How's soup sound?" he asked, getting some dry wood from the surrounding forest and going over to the river side and setting them down in a dry grassy area. "I guess I need a bowl, though," he said thoughfully, "Huh?"

Soup? Aipom was very confused. Soooooo-puh? What was soup? By the way Demyx was acting, it was a foodstuff. That was good. He was using berries and something the monkey had never seen before, along with wood? Wha...? Aipom was very interested to see what would happen from this, and knew from her teasing trainers what a bowl was. She dug into Demyx's backpack. After much scuffling around, she found a few bowls and plates and stuff among the strange trainer items. She took the bowls in her tail and raced to Demyx, handing them over with a beaming smile, pleased to be of some help.

"Thank you," Demyx smiled back, taking the dishes, "Do you have a name?" He still faced her, but moved to put some of the sticks to dry pebbles, using a match to light them on fire. He also used a large bowl to get some water and put it on the fire to begin to heat up.

Aipom smiled. A name? She was sure that most Pokémon with names belonged to trainers, since the lucky things were able to be told apart by their trainers. She always thought it was better when she saw a trainer calling their Pokémon by their names rather than just 'Aipom' or 'Oddish' or 'Eevee'. She felt that it just sounded far more respectful if the trainer used a nice name, more special and such. In fact, sometimes Pokémon with names were caught and then called by their species!
Aipom, unlike a number or wild Pokémon, did have a name. ~Yeah, my friends call me April.~ she said proudly. The monkey watched Demyx make some fire. She hadn't known that humans were Fire types. She didn't think they had a type. How curious. She was deeply puzzled. ~How come you made fire? What are you doing?~ she asked, completely unknowing of what cooking was. She'd never stayed with a trainer before, only teased them.

"Thats a wondewrful name, April," Demyx replied smiling, he was getting the hang of listening to other types of pokemon, "I'm making the water hotter, so the food tastes better." He held his hand over the heating water to feel the steam floating above the liquid. He added a couple more sticks to the fire and stuck the broth bone thing into the bowl.

April was pleased that Demyx liked her name. She could also see that his daemon would occasionally have to put in a word or two, but in general he was starting to get better at understanding her. Well done him, it was always good to meet a human who had taken the time to understand Pokémon. Well, she could tell he had a bit of Vaporeon DNA in him, but hadn't mentioned it. After all, he probably knew that, didn't he?
As Demyx continued to make the soup, the delicious smell of it filled the air. April's eyes half-closed, the Pokémon taking in the wonderful smell. It was surprising how some water with stuff in it could smell so good. She looked around, then frowned. Hang on- something seemed missing. Where was Marly? That Oddish from earlier? She hadn't seen the trainer return her, yet the Grass type was nowhere to be seen. Uh-oh. That... that was not so good. ~Demmy... where's Marly?~ April said worriedly, not even noticing that she'd randomly made up a nickname for Demyx.

"Wha?" Demyx asked, glancing around see Munchlax and Dyme in the water, but Marly nowhere to be seen. Soon his eyes fell upon some weeds in a dirt filled spot by the water, so some waves covered it. He dropped a couple berries in the soup and stood up, walking over to the weeds and barley stroking his hands on the leaves before they began to shiver. Marly popped up just as a wave came and covered his feet. "There you are," he said, smiling and going back to the soup to slice some berries to put in, he turned to April for a moment to give her a smile, "Thanks."
