ooc// Sato City again? Please?
ic//Elika watched as she could see how effective her move had been, knockng Arwan right over. It was clear the Vulpix had weakened a fair bit now, and with Oddish being healed that meant that despite the fact that the Vulpix's attacks were much stronger and the user was at a higher level, the two Pokemon were about even when it came to tiredness. However could make the next move might just win this. Then Elika heard Rima call for a Faint Attack. Oh. An unmissable move couldn't have much strategy added to it, but it sure was useful in this sort of situation.
Oddish could do nothing but stand there bravely, not showing fear as Arwan used the Faint Attack. After all, there was no point makng a fool of himself trying to dodge, was there? When the fox reappeared again, Oddish turned round, bracing himself as he used his leaves to protect his most vunurable areas while Arwan dealt the pain. Oddish moaned, collapsing to the ground where he struggled to stay in the battle. It was too late, he had fainted. Elika sighed, returning him and sending out her strongest Pokemon, a Chikorita. Would Rima keep fighting with the weakened Arwan or choose a Pokemon on full health? It seemed Elika was giving her a move to fight or switch in.
Arwan gained a level!

OOC:// Yeah sure. Sorry about the wait, I'll get to it right after this post. ^_^
IC://Rima watched as the Oddish collapsed, signalling Arwan's victory. For a moment, Rima was in complete shock and stared out toward the bulb Pokemon on the floor - expecting it to jump up and attack in surprise at any given moment. But the Pokemon didn't move. It didn't budge an inch and Elika returned the Oddish to his Pokeball. That's when it sank into Rima. She had won! Arwan and Rima had won! Squealing in happiness, Rima ran over to her Vulpix and picked him up, lifting him into the air and spinning around as she chuckled, "You did it Arwan! You did it!" The Vulpix smiled at his trainer as she became ecstatic at the win over the Oddish, however the battle wasn't over yet. He eyed the Chikorita that escaped the Pokeball and Rima slowly came to a stop as she looked at the grass type. Holding her Vulpix in her arms she looked out toward the Chikorita and then back at Arwan. He had several bruises and scratches from his previous battle. She returned the fox to his Pokeball and then faced the Chikorita and GYm Leader and pulled out a Pokeball.
Escaping the Pokeball was a Riolu and he faced teh Chikorita. Rima thought about Kei and then she nodded to herself and rummaged in her bag before pulling out an object and calling to her Rilou, "Kei!" The Riolu turned and caught the object thrown at him before realising what it was as he began to glow. The glowing was bright and white an Kei's shape began to change as he evolved from the Heart Scale and became a Lucario. Rima smiled at Kei as he seemed a little shocked at his new body and looked it over and over. The Lucario then looked over at his trainer who smiled sweetly and closed her eyes and she tilte her head to one side. The Lucario then nodded with a faint smile and turned to face the Chikorita, "Kei use a Quick Attack!" The Lucario nodded and then darted toward the Chikorita in hopes of damaging it.

Elika smiled as she saw the Riolu evolve into a Lucario. It was always nice to see a trainer care for their Pokémon enough to give them evolution items, but it also gave her an advantage; an example of this followed Rima's instructions. Kei had been given no time to get used to his new form, and so the Quick Attack he had been attempted missed completely, and wasn't too speedy anyway, appearing rather clumsy. Still, the Lucario would get used to his body soon, so Elika would treat him like an ordinary opponent. "Razor Leaf!"
Chikorita knew not to underestimate his opponent just because he was newly evolved. After all, he might get lucky or get the hang of things. The Grass type heard his trainer's command, too, and tossed his head, the leaf on top of it swiping as it send an array of sharp leaves speeding towards Kei. The Razor Leaf attack was faster than many of Chikorita's attacks, since this one didn't require the slow Pokémon to do much running. The Razor Leaf was speeding towards Kei with great accuracy.

Rima sighed in annoyance when Kei's attack missed due ot his unfamiliarity with his new body. Maybe evolving Kei inside the Gym wasn't such a good idea since he wouldn't be used to the new height and weight that he held and travelling might be difficult since he wasn't used to his body. It was understandable, but annoying and a disadvanatge. But then agian, Kei learned pretty quickly so this might not be a hinderance for long... Just as Rima was thinking it over, she was too late to realise the rapid and accurate Razor Leaf that sped past her Pokemon. The Lucario was hit due to the lack of attention of his trainer, he didn't blame her for the attack hitting but Rima blamed hreself. Slapping herself in the sides of her face Rima muttered to herself, "Let's focus Rima!" However, although Rima had been expecting to feel the pain of her own slap, Ven hadn't been, and soon enough the Vaporeon daemon jumped when the sides of his face stung. Looking up he stared at Rima with a scowl and she giggled, forgetting for a brief moment their link. Ven shook his head and Pichu jumped down to sit next to Kei, feeling that he would like to be eye level with Ven and the battle. Sitting on Rima was fun, but then she did tend to overexaggerate and he didn't particularly feel like getting tossed around. Rima then shouted, "Kei, use force palm!" Kei may have been at a disadvantage because of his evolution but his paws were quite accurate. Considering his hands had been smaller previously, if anything an attack involving them now would be even more accurate since they had grown but Kei was still used to his small ones. This was a hope Rima was leaning on so she had to try. The Lucario nodded and he darted forward, drawing back a hand and launchign it to strike teh Chikorita in the head.

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Chikorita was pleased that his Razor Lead had struck his opponent successfully, but wasn't going to spend much time celebrating; Kei had started up a Force Palm, and this time he looked fairly confident. The Grass type dinosaur attempted to dodge, but it wasn't as if Chikoritas were known for their speed. It was clear Chikorita wasn't going to manage to dodge in time, and although it seemed the Lucario would stumble he managed to slam his charged paw into Chikorita, driving the Pokémon into the ground.
Chikorita got to his feet, a little dazed, and shook himself down. Phew, that had been strong. The Grass type was still going strong, though, and his trainer ordered another attack. "Right, try a Tackle now!" Elika called. Chikorita nodded, the dinosaur lowering his head a little, fixing his eyes firmly on Kei as he began to charge. The Tackle was of course well-practiced and so a tough move, but there was still the question of whether or not it would be hit to be answered, keeping in mind that the Tackle was being used at a close range.

The Chikorita's Tackle was quite accurate and strong, despite it being a very basic move - but then what did you expect from a gym leader's Pokemon? The Tackle struck the Lucario, luckily not very effectively since he was part steel, and Kei felt the surge of pain. Rima stared out at the battle field. Elika's Chikroita was more agile, more accurate and more powerful than her Oddish and therefore, Rima needed to keep up with her moves otherwise the result could go against her. Staring out she thought about the battlefield - it was open and wasn't much you could do with it. But then again, they were inside... "That's it!" Rima cried as she clapped her hands together and a wide smiled crossed her face. Pichu was startled and jumped as he sprang up from Ven's back and then looked inquisitively at the Vaporeon daemon. Ven sighed and chuckled at the same time and replied, "Who knows Pichu. Who knows." Rima then called out to her Lucario that was now a little fruther from the Chikroita due to the Tackle attack and called, "Run as fast as you can Kei and then use a Force Palm agian!" The Lucario nodded and took in the distance between him and teh Chikorita. Realising his trainber's plan he shot rapidly toward teh Chikroita, using his body to get the most speed he could, then drawing back his hand he strecthed it out when he was within inches of teh Grass type and struck it on the forhead, hoping to use the speed and power fo the move to deal extra damage as he aimed to skid the grass type against a nearby wall.

The Force Palm was heading for Chikorita quickly, and Elika smiled. Trainers before had tried many strategies, and walls were one of them. Because of this, she knew what to do if it hit. The Force Palm did indeed strike, slapping Chikorita hard and making it cry out in pain. This did, as hoped, begin to drive the dinosaur towards the wall, but since it had struck the Pokemon so high on its body it wasn't moving too quickly. "Razor Leaf, behind you!" Elika called. Chikorita did so, slowing itself down but not preventing itself from hitting the wall, ending up tumbling into it without much pain.
The Force Pslm had been painful, however, and Chikorita was showing sire signs of weakening. It, like all battling Pokemon, didn't want go lose. Since its trainer was a gym leader with plenty of trick up her sleeve to get them out of tricky situations, though, it still stood a chance of winning. "Razor Leaf; cover the whole body!" Elika called for the next move to be made. She knew that this way the Razor Leaf was more likely to hit, and it would probably be a decent thing to make Kei's whole body ache, although it would definately take more than the Razor Leaf Chikorita was now using to to that. The sharp leaves were zipping through the air, heading for Kei.

Rima clicked her tongue when her attempts at battling once again failed, her strategies seemed to be crumbling against Elika. This was only the first gym, and Rima began to worry at how difficult the final seven would be... Would she make it? If she couldn't defeat Elika would any of it be worth it? Rima began to contenplaint the situaion when all of a sudden she felt a swipe at her leg and she tumbled a little, swaying to the left. Looking down at what had struck her gently on the leg, Rima looked down to see an annoyed Vaporeon staring up at her. Ven didn't seemed impressed whatsoever, and Pichu sat on hsi head, leaning over the blue face he had as the little electric type also stared at Rima - though his expression was one of innocene. Rima stared down at Ven and angrily said, "Ven what was th-" "Idiot!" Rima blinked down at her daemon. "Idiot! Moron! Skull-brain! Muppet! Numpty!" Rima contineud to blink as her Vaporeon daemon stood up on all fours and angrily growled at her, his fin tail waving about behind him, a reaction to his emotions. "Don't concentrate about the future! I know what you're thinking. Ignore it. Think of today, the present, now, this moment in time. STAY FOCUSED!"
Rima continued to blinked quite shocked at her daemon as she listened to his insults. What was all that about? She looked down confused and then the daemon gestured his head to her right and looked out to see that she was in the middl eof the battle and Kei was in pain as severeal razor sharp leaves engulfed his body and continued to surround him like a whirlwind. How could Rima forget? She was fighting now. She was in the middle of a battle. She had left Kei by himself and had adandoned him in worry of the future. How could she? But not now. Now she would be completely focused. Stay focused on the battle. No distracrtions. The only people in the room were Rima, Elika, Chikorita and Kei. Time to think up more methods. Test Elika, as well as herself. Rima sniffed and held her forearm as she held up a fist in confidence, "No giving up." Rima watched her Lucario in pain and called out, "Kei! Let's get this battle really started. Kick your leg out and spin then use Foresight and Quick Attack!" The Lucario heard his trainer, adn opening his own eyes eh concentrated. He threw hisright leg out ot the side and spun around in a full circle. Spinning he made quick work of the leaves that surrounded him painfully, and then Staring at Chikorita his eyes glowed a bright blue as they focused on his opponent. No more tricky dodging chances now. He didn't know if the Chikroita knew any evasiness boosting moves but better safe then sorry -as if the grass type did he oculdn't use them anymore. Then shooting forward in a hard dash, dashing straight forward and speedily toward the Chikroita in a quick attack.[/font]

Elika watched as her opponent's daemon made Rima more focused, smiling a little as she saw the girl's expression. She could tell that this battle was about to get a bit harder and so more fun. Chikorita could see that the Quick Aatack was pretty much a definate hit, so didn't waste any time in taking action. She remained calm, using a Growl to lower Kei's attack stat just before they collided. Chikorita was struck painfully, but it wasn't as bad as it would have been had she not used that Growl. "Good, Chikorita! Now follow it up with a close range Razor Leaf!" Elika called.
The little Grass type dinosaur gave a determined nod. That wouldn't be too hard if she attacked soon; it was barely a second after the Quick Attack and the two Pokemon were close to each other. Quick as a flash, Chikorita sprung into action. She leapt off the ground lunging for Kei. There was a purpose to this other than to get near the Lucario; as she reached the end of the leap, she fired a well practiced Razor Leaf, the momuntum from the sudden dash making the move quicker and so more likely to hot.

"Duck Kei! And use Bite!" Rima called as she saw the grass type unleash one of his more powerful, and favourite, attack. Quick adn rapid movements would obviously be important in this battle, that went for both Kei and Rima. Kei obeyed his trainer. Although the Razor Leaf attack was quickened, it was still a razor leaf attack and Rima was beginning to learn how to handle it well, studying Chikorita's movements. The Chikorita leapt into the air and sent teh leaves racing toward the Lucario with accuracy, but being at a height left an opening but he ducked close to the floor and began to run on all fours as he dashed toward Chikorita, gaining as much as speed as he could to gain an advantage against the tough opponent. It was obvious that Elika and Chikorita weren't giving up easily and Kei needed to b fast on his feet, more than usual. As he enclosed on the nearby Chikorita he opened his jaws and sprung up onto his back legs as his usual form should be, and attempted to cling on hard to Chikroita with a Bite attack.

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥The Razor Leaf had been dodged from that close up? Ah, fair enough, you couldn't have everything in life. And now the Lucario was moving in for a Bite attack... well, that would hurt, yes, but it would also give Chikorita the oppertunity to make a powerful, close range move with pretty much a zero chance of her opponent escaping. She knew this too from practice, and so allowed the jaws to clamp down on her leg. She bit her lip to hold back the cry of pain as Elika called "Razor Leaf to get him off!"
Chikorita tried not to waste too much energy letting the attack ebb away more of her health, and so immedietly reacted. She took aim, although that wasn't exactly hard, then swung her head leaf. The Razor Leaf was practically upon Kei the moment it had been used, so there was practically no escape for him from this. With any luck, the pain would make him release or even just loosen his grip enough for Chikorita to break free from the Bite.

Kei instantly felt the harsh slices of teh Razor Leaf as it struck him at suck a close range. There was no use trying to avoid it or weaken its poewr - that was the down side to a bite attack, vulnerability - and he scrwed up his face as he dealt with the pain. Although Razor Leaf had been used so many times in this battle it still packed quite a punch. Luckily it was a grass move and only dealt half as much damager which boosted his defense, in a way. but it was still incredibly painful. As instinct taught, when you grab something and it hurts your bdoy lets go, and Kei's jaws unclenched as he jumped backwards away from the leaves as well as Chikorita. He began to apnt as his body rose and fell with his breath and he stood a distance away awaiting for a command from his trainer.
Rima looked out toward Kei and her eyes were wide and moist - Kei was struggling, seriously struggling... She had to do something! She had a plan in mind but that couldn't be used quite yet, not until Chikorita was struggling in its battle too. Elika was good- "But you're just as good." Rima looked down to see Ven with his eyes closed calmly with PIchu on his head. Ven opened on eye to look at Rima and then closed it again, looking forward with his eyes blacked out. Rima smiled again and turned her head back to kei. She wasn't out od ideas yet! "Kei remember how you used your Quick Attack on Entei? Let's do that again!" The Lucario was panting and thenhe heard his trainer. He remembered the move well, and now that he was in a larger form it would be likely to deal more damage. Concentrating on the Chikroita, he darted forward, his body low and his ears flapping as he ran - the lower he wasthe faster he went. Then when he was quite close he jumped into the air a little way and straightened his legs out, hoping to faltten the Chikroita in a Quick Attack and then rebound to a safe distance.

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Elika and Chikorita both watched frozen with puzzlement and interest as they watched the Lucario moving towards them. He had made himself very small, and he was getting faster. In fact, he was still accelerating, making it extremely hard for them to be able to judge a dodge. This attack... was going to hit. Probably. "Chikorita, brace yourself! Use a Growl, too!" she called, not wanting to make things worse by attempting to dodge.
Chikorita did as she was told, lowering Kei's attack power in hope of making this attack less painful as much as possible. The attack worked perfectly, being a well-thought-out and previously practiced move- a little like, in fact, the style a gym leader could use. Chikorita was struck, and the Growl didn't save her now. When the tall jackal moved away, she was clearly fainted. Elika raised an eyebrow, impressed, as she returned the Grass type to her Pokéball.
Walking over to Rima, she pressed a badge into her hand. "Well done- you've earned it. You know, I think you might make a good gym leader. Of course, you've chosen to challenge use, and I have a feeling you'll go far. Bye- I have a feeling I'll hear of your acomplishments again at some point." she winked at the girl. Well, that had gone well, and now it was time to move on!

Rima froze in shock as she watched the Chikorita be victim to her Pokemon's attack. The Grass type fainted and Rima stared in shock before she realised what had happened and Elika pressed a small badge into her hand. Blinking down at the badge, still in shock that she had actually WON a battle against a GYM LEADER. She stared down at the little green badge in her hand. Then listening to Elika she stared up at her. The Gym Leader had a sweet smile on her face and Rima suddenly felt an overwhelming urge. Rima was like a GYM LEADER! GYM LEADER MATERIAL! Wow! She leapt into the air and wrapped her arms around Elika as she squeezed her tight and shouted happily, "Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!" Then she released Elika and realise that Kei was still out and panting from the battle. Rima then ran over to him and grabbed his paws, it was easier to speak to her very first Pokemon now as he was almost eye level with her. She grasped his black paws, careful not to clasp the new spikes that pointed out of them after he evolved, and danced around in a cirlce squeeling, "We did it Kei! We did it! We REALLy did it! You were brilliant! You were awesome!" Then she stopped and dropped his paws before releasing her Vulpix. He was bruised and scratched and panting harshly as Kei was. She then smiled at them both, "You were both deserving of this. It couldn't have happened without either of you. I love you both so much!" She stroked both her Vulpix and Lucario, before gesturing to the Pichu that laid on top of her daemon and he scurried over and climbed up to sit on Rima's head as he usually did. Rima smiled up at him and picked up her Vulpix, supporting him over her shoulder by holding onto his bottom half where his beautiful tails sprawled across. She then looked at Elika and said (hands full), "Thank you so much Elika. You were as brilliant as I thought you were. If I ever come back, I'll be sure to visit you!"
Rima then left waving goodbye to Elika and her daemon. She walked toward the Pokecenter. Arwan sitting like a pet fox in her arms as he rested his front paws on her shoulder, Pichu laying neatly on her head as always, and Kei walking slowly by her side, bruised and scratched. SHe walked up to the Pokecenter and said, "Hi Nurse Joy. I managed to beat Elika, look!" She held out her hand that continued to grasp the badge that wasz given to her. Rima smiled happily, Ven by her side as he jumped onto the desk and stated, "A few moments of doubt, but they did it." Rima smiled at her daemon and then said, "Right, so can you heal Arwan and Kei again please. They want to be out of their Pokeballs at the moment, but would it be okay?" She put Arwan neatly on the desk and Kei walked toward to the desk, waiting for Nurse Joy to heal them both.

Birdy//♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Nurse Joy was busy serving a different customer at that time, but her dæmon seemed happy enough. He smiled. ~I knew you had it in you, well done! And yes, we can heal Pokémon when out their Pokéballs.~ he told her, as the Nurse moved over to face Rima, her slightly creepy smile the same as always. "Welcome to the Pokémon Center. We can-" she began, then noticed that Rima had already passed her two Pokémon along. She took them and placed them in a special machine which bleeped as they were healed.
Passing Arwan and Kei back, Joy smiled. "Thank you for waiting. Your Pokémon have been healed to full health. We hope to see you again!" she said. Now her Pokémon had been healed, Rima was ready to head out to Route Three- or she might want to pick up supplies in the Pokémart first.
