Rima ran into Silva Town, admiring all of the City wonder. After all, Rima had never been to a city before and usually stayed by the ocean due to her love of water and water Pokemon. With her dameon Ven by her side, and their companion Pichu her shoulder they began to explore the town, admiring all that it had to offer. Rima then, whilst finishing an ice cream she had found at a stall, spotted the Pokecenter and shot forward toward it. She went over to Nurse Joy and bowed politely, her long blonde ponytail flopping all over the place, "Could you please heal my Pokemon?" She handed six Pokeballs to her, Kei the Riolu, Mina the Meowth, Rini the Pachirisu, Entei (who ahd several nicknames), Arwan the Vulpix and Rae the Piplup. Once they were healed, Rima would get Dawn (her new Swablu) out of the Pokecenter and put one of her otehrs back for the time being. And then she'd be ready for a Gym Battle.

Nurse Joy smiled her slightly forced, slightly creepy smile as a trainer approached the counter. "Hello, and welcome to the Pokémon Center. We can heal your Pokémon up to full health. Would you like us to heal your Pokémon?" she asked. She then watched kindly as Rima placed her Pokéballs on the counter, her Chansey daemon serving another customer right next to them. Nurse Joy stroked her daemon fondly as she passed him, slotting Rima's Pokéballs into the machine.
The Nurse came back not too long later, handing Rima her healed Pokémon's Pokéballs. "Thank you for waiting. Your Pokémon have been healed to full health. We hope to see you again!" she waved. The Chansey daemon smiled at Rima. ~Good luck.~ he said, guessing by the look of her that she was challenging the gym leader.

Rima bowed politely before taking one of her Pokeballs over to a machine and looking down at it, saying, "I'll come back for you, Mina." She swapped the shiny Meowth for the Swablu in her PC. And then she headed out toward the Gym.
Slowly creaking the doors open, Rima peered inside whereas Ven just walked straight in. Rima hurried in behind her daemon and then looking around said in an echoy voice, "Hello? Elika? I challenge you to a Pokemon battle."

Elika was standing on the opposite side of the battlefield to Rima, playing with her Oddish, Chikorite and Roselia daemon. At the sight of a trainer, she smiled. Oh good, a challenge. And just when she had been getting bored, too. She smiled at Rima. "Yes, I am Elika and I accept your challenge. Oddish, you're up first. You may have the first move." she smiled at Rima, the Oddish stepping forward, ready to fight.

Rima smiled when the Gym Leader accepted her challenge. Boy was Rima nervous. Her first battle with a trainer, let alone a Gym Leader. She took a deep breath and leant for one of her Pokeballs. She picked it out and stared at it in the palm of her hand for a moment, thinking over her decision to use this one to fight the Oddish. Pichu sat on Rima's shoulder and looked at the Pokemon in her hand, which one was it? Was Rima going to be alright? He thought. Ven nudged Rima with his fins and she looked down at her Vaporeon daemon. Ven smiled at her and chuckled slightly, "You'll be fine Rima. You've faced bigger problems than this, and besides me and the little guy will be here to cheer you on." Rima looked from her daemon to the Pichu and smiled happily since they cheered her up. She then nodded confidently and gripped the Pokeball before throwing it into the air and releasing the Pokemon inside as it escaped in a flash of red light.
The red light settled and revealed the form of a Vulpix and Ven and Pichu knew immediately who had been chosen to fight in the gym, and what a fabulous first choice. The Vulpix looked behind him teasingly at his trainer as if to say: 'are you ready for this?" and Rima gave a sly smile and nodded. She then pointed to the Oddish opposite her, calling out, "If that's what you want Elika then here we go. Arwan move in for a Quick Attack!" The Vulpix didn't hesitate and instantly went dashing toward the Oddish with a Quick Attack.

Ah, a Vulpix. So, this trainer was going for being super effective, was she? Well, she knew what to for most senrios, since as a gym leader she needed to have plenty of tricks up her sleeve. Smiling, she saw ghat rather than using a Fire type attack, she was using Quick Attack. A good, accurate move like that might not be super effective but would give Rima a decent idea of how Oddish would take hits. "Oddish, use Absorb the moment it hits!" Elika called. The bulb Pokemon nodded, waiting until it felt the pain of the Quick Attack before using an Absorb. This was likely to hit from such a close range and possibly be a little stronger, too.

Rima knew that using Arwan who was a fire type would put her and her team at an advantage for now since grass moves would prove weak and her attacks could be stronger. However gym leaders had to be able to learn how to deal with these situations because of the various trainers that entered, so she would have to watch out. She didn't want to underestimate Elika and first Rima needed to learn her battle stratergy. She saw Arwan's attack hit but then immediately saw several green orbs strike him and float back toward the Oddish, making the previous Quick Attack pretty pointless and Arwan slightly weaker in the process despite the lack of effectiveness of the grass type move. Grinding her teeth from the move, Rima threw ordered her Vupix again, "Arwan ignore it!" Then a sudden idea came to Rima, she hadn't tried it before and it might be a little risky but considering Oddish's weight it might just work.
The Vaporeon daemon looked up at Rima who was thinking hard before she threw out a hand and shouted out to her Vulpix, her confidence not yet broken, "Arwan use Faint Attack and then push back with a Tail Whip!" ALthough Tail Whip might prove pretty useless as both a damaging move, once the Faint Attack would hit then Arwan could push the Oddish away at a distance with the force of the whipping Tail. It could create a distance between the pair so that the Oddish couldn't perform a move like it did before. It might just work considering Oddish's light weight too. Arwan nodded and moved in for the combination attack. After all Faint Attack always hit, so he moved forward disappearing into a dakr shadow before reappearing behind Oddish and using teh Faint Attack, after that he would use an immediate Tail Whip to push his opponent away.

This move combination would definately do some damage whatever happened because Faint Attack was an unmissable damaging attack. Oddish cried out in pain when it struck, not liking that one bit. Hm, that had hurt. Yet then it felt itself start to move away, its defense stat lowering as it did so. Huh? Oh, it seemed that the Vulpix had used a Tail Whip in an attempt to push Oddish away. The bulb Pokemon skidded slowly, feeling no pain. "Toxic!" called Elika. Oddish obeyed, squirting its fox like opponent with poison in an attempt to severly poison her.

Arwan winced as the purple mist like substance engulfed him and he began to breath it in as he coughed from the poison that had entered his body. The poison had just taken effect and this would not be good on his stamina. Rima didn't know what to do, she didn't want to use an Antidote too soon since Oddish could always use another Toxic anytime she wanted. Rima decided that she would wait a turn and get some major damage in first though, "Arwan hang on! Use ember quickly![/color]" Arwan coughed a few times as he put a paw to his mouth, however he then shook his body as he vanished away the rest of teh toxic gas before opening his mouth wide and sending several super effective flames out toward his opponent. Oddish was pleased that Arwan had found himself Poisoned, since poison from a Toxic was always severe; it caused worse damage than a normal poisoning and kept getting worse. The Grass type attempted to dodge the Ember but its little feet were slow. The super effective hit made it totter, vision fuzzing before it recovered. Elika knew this had knocked a lot of damage off. "Use an Absofb at the same time the Vulpix feels the pain of the poison!" she called. Oddish nodded, watching and waiting for the moment. This way, it'd hopefully steal more damage.

Rima grinded her teeth together and clenched her fist in anger as her Pokemon was played. That was the whole point of the poison attack, so that they could launch a double energy sap on the Vulpix and deal more damage. Rima cursed herself for the inconvience she had brought her Pokemon but there was nothing she could do at this point. The Absorb struck Arwan and although not very effective joint with the pain of the poison, it was as if it all dealt normal damage. The Vulpix let out a short, sharp, quiet shot of pain and then looked at Rima for help. Rima nodded and called out, "Arwan! Quick over here!" The Vulpix ran toward his trainer and sat next to her as she commanded - Rima pulled out an Antidote and then sprayed it on teh purplish wound on her Vulpix, stroking the spot once she had healed his poisoning. Now that she'd done that, she couldn't use a damaging move. But she could use a stat lowering one.. "Now Arwan! Use a Tail Whip!" The Vulpix smiled and muttered "Certainly." Before he darted toward the Oddish in an attempt to further lower its defense.

Feeling his attack stat lower, Oddish didn't seem to care too much. True, things would hurt more, but he and his trainer knew ways to make it so that didn't matter too much. Of course, the real annoyance was the loss of Arwan's poisoning. That wasn't a very good thing at all, but as always they had to continue no matter. Absorb wasn't a very powerful attack, but Elika didn't really feel like using Toxic over and over again. "Absorb!" she called.
Oddish could see that the gym leader was thinking up a strategy in her head and calling an attack in the meantime, and shivered as he wondered what it was she would come up with. Who knew, but it would probably be something good since gym leaders were known for being able to think on their feet. He waved his leaves, sending a thick spray of green beads of energy right for Arwan, in the not so effective but healing Absorb.

Rima watched as the green orbs flew toward her Pokemon. She knew that the Gym Leader was thinking up some kind of stratergy but there was no time to guess at what it could be; after all it would be difficult to guess just what that would be. Rima needed to think up her own strategy... And then as she watched the glowing grass orbs she called out, "Arwan! Aim Ember at the Absorb attack and keep using ember at it!" The Vulpix didn't quite know just what that would achieve but he didn't mind; he trusted his trainer. Opening his mouth he let loose a flurry of fireballs that headed straight toward the green orbs. Rima's hopes of this move were that the fire would be absorbed into the green orbs, turning them into a fire attack and that from the continuous pressure of the ember attack, would push them right back toward the Oddish. In a way, this was like an appeal move in a contest but hopefully it would work in battle too.

Oddish and Elika watched together as Arwan set the Absorbs on fire and sent them hurtling back to the Grass type. Of course, since the force the bulb had given them had countered Arwan's force, they were pretty slow, but super effectivity made up for that. Oddish tried to dodge, but a fair number still scorched him. He whimpered softly in pain, and it was clear that it wouldn't take much more to end this. Elika knew this too, chewing her lip nervously as she tried to think of something. Aha! She knew what to do! "Oddish, use Absorb then Sweet Scent!" she said, praying this would work.
The rotund Pokemon nodded in response, seeing what hos trainer was trying to do. She was trying to boost the power of the Absorb by using the breeze of the sweet scent. It might just work, but at any rate it was worth a try. The Oddish shook his leafy crest, sendin a spray of green beads of energy aimed at the Vulpix. He followed this with a Sweet Scent almost immediatly, focusing the winds of the move closely to boost the Absorb's speed. It woorked to some extent, sendin the attack zooming quickly towards Arwan, too quickly to be sent back, while the smell from the Sweet Scent would lower his evaison and make it much harder for his to dodge.

Rima winced as she saw the extra speedy absorb attack strike her Vulpix with intense force and send him flying across the gym field with the wind pushing him back as well as lowering his ability to dodge. Arwan's energy had been sapped and he knew that this would keep happening until he defeated the bulb Pokemon so he steadily and shakily stood himself up. Rima looked out to her panting Vulpix and muttered worriingly, "Arwan... Are you alright?" The Vulpix looked back at his concerned trainer and satring into her blue eyes, his brown ones conveyed a message as he called out, "Rima, you're lack of confidence in me, really is wounding. However, this Vulpix is not going down until he's done as much as he can." Ven looked out to the Vulpix and sighed at the trickster fox, his face scrunching up in a little annoyance as Arwan smiled smugly back at him. Without looking away from the fox, the Vaporeon daemon translated, "He wants to keep going until he faints." Rima looked into her Vulpix's big brown eyes with worry and then nodded confidently as she pointed toward the grass type and called, "Right then. Arwan faint attack, let's go!" The Vulpix nodded and shot into a quick dash. A little into the run he disappeared into a dark, black shadow and then reappeared directly in front of Oddish, finishing the attack as quickly as he could by instantly reappearing in front of the bulb and hoping to shock it as well as deal damage.
