Brian was in wonder as he just dropped the Lotad's pokeball which sucked in the Lotad. Was he that close to Route Two already. Time must've went by fast. Then again, he had captured three starters already. Checking off the pokemon he had recently captured off the list, he took off to Route Two. using the Machop cries to guide him.
When he approached a new route filled with long swaying grass, he saw a figure not too far away of a tiny person. He ran after it, finding the cries getting louder. He almost wanted to rip his brain out. Then, the tiny person came clear, it was a Machop.

The Machop Brian had heard from Route One fell silent as he saw Brian's shadowing figure. He whimpered in fear, struggling in the mud. Why didn't he just run off, like what most Pokémon would do if comfronted by some huge, unknown figure who was moaning like a ghost and clutching his head like a Psyduck on fire? Maybe the little annoyance was too proud or something?
When Machop saw it was a ranger, his cries broke again, even louder this time. Tears- actual tears- were trickling down his cheeks as he writhed in pain, his whole body aching. Machop's tears came worse, and his cries turned to screams. Then it all became clear. Machop's foot was enclosed in an illegal Ursaring trap, the kind which clamp down on paws and feet when touched. Machop was trapped and in great pain as the foot bled, the fingers of the Fighting type doing nothing against the cruel steel.

A Brian approached, he noticed what was causing the Machop to scream and the fact that it was getting louder and louder and louder. He immediately hoped to do things the easy way. Hegrabebd the sides of the Ursaring trap, and pulled it open. His hands were slowly slipping off the metal. "Come on, get out." Brian desperately coaxed. Before there was a chance- clink!. They snapped shut again into the Machop's still fleshy legs. Ouch.

Machop screamed again, lashing out at the cause of his pain; Brian. The evil, nasty human was hurting him! He groaned, arm flailing weakly. He wasn't even able to do much against the human who's kind had set the trap he was in... how terrible. This was a dissaster, and wouldn't be very good for his leg, either. He felt a little better that the human was having trouble with the trap, as well, for it made him feel less weak. But still... he was trapped. If Brian couldn't open the trap, who could? A Pokémon? This was a Ranger, so maybe something he had captured or would capture?

At that instance, Bran had thought up plan that involved using Phineas. He equipped Phineas's pokeball to the tip of his styler and he twirled it with skill and speed. Then, the pokeball shot into the air and Phineas shot out looking proud and prepared. "Phineas! Rust the trap!" He commanded.
The Poliwag started using its element to spray water onto the steel trap. He hoped this work and if it did, the Machop may have to experience even more or longer periods of pain. Which then made him think, Who'd make a trap for a Machop?

Machop sighed in relief as the trap loosened it's life-draining grip. He was now confused. Although he had been hopeful that this human had been a friend, he had very recently thought Brian an enemy. Now the human was helping him... odd. But Machop wouldn't complain, of course. The rusted through trap sprung apart easily in the Fighting type's hands, and he inhaled sharply, fighting the urge to throw up as he looked at his leg. I don't think you want all the gory details, but long story short the leg was severly damaged and seemed to require medical treatment.
