Charmander yawned. She had been waiting ALL DAY for someone to play with and she was bored! She hopped back on top of the rock she was sitting next to and looked around. A friend of hers had promised to meet her here, hours ago, and this darn rock seemed to be the most uninteresting part of the whole forest. Maybe I'll take a little nap. Charmander thought with another yawn. She curled up on the rock and drifted to sleep, her last thoughts only vague in her mind, I hope I'm visible from the ground . . .

~Meeeeee-wwwww!~ Beilrey, otherwise known as Bird, sang as she float through the forest. Her velvet blue fur shimmered and glittered in the evening sun, unseen by any living form. She loved it when she didn't have to hide herself. She could be so free, floating at will. The cat-like Pokémon sighed, looking all about her. True, not hiding her true form was nice, but she was so lonely!
She could hear gentle, slow breathing up ahead. A sleeping Pokémon! She couldn't be sure whether the Pokémon was deep asleep or not, so she felt out with her psychic abilities. Yes, this was a sleeping Charmander. She should make a fair playmate. Bird the Mew swooped towards Charmander, transforming into a form which pleased her; a blend. She looked like an ordinary Absol, aside from retaining her shiny-ness, but from her shoulders extended great, massive Pidgeot wings. Yes, that would do. Bird tucked her new wings in, padding up to Charmander.
~Hello? Hello! Wake up! I wanna play!~ she spoke softly, tail wagging gently.

A voice gently pierced Charmander's dream of chasing a Butterfree through a field. She blinked her eyes slowly, squinting to try to observe the Pokemon before her. An Absol! Such peaceful creatures they are, so nice and . . . Are those wings? Pidgeot wings! And what's up with the color? Charmander shook her head. Better not be rude, she was raised better. "Hi," she said sitting up and carfully looking into the shiny Absol/Pidgeot's eyes. "I'm Charmander. What's your name?"

Ozarka the Sneasel was bored. No doubt about that. And, of course, she was a bit... odd for a Sneasel. For one, she preferred the warmth. She looked a little different, being pitch-black instead of dark blue, with blue gems instead of yellow ones on her chest and head, and blue "feathers" rather than red for her ear and tail. She was also something of a daredevil. Well... so what if jumping off a cliff hadn't necessarily been the brightest thing to do? She had made sure of a good landing in the trees (although perhaps accidentally disturbing a sleepy Staraptor, which hadn't turned out well), but even though she was now somewhere unfamiliar as she had wanted, she was losing her patience with the lack of interesting things to do. So now she was trying to amuse herself by building a slingshot (which composed of tree branches and vines), and was deciding on the best take-off spot. She saw a likely-looking branch that she could probably catch and swing on if she positioned herself right.. it was quite a ways away, and below the branch she was on, so missing would not be good. Which, of course, Ozarka didn't even consider before pulling the vine slingshot to the side. She hopped a few branches, then took sight as she pulled back, back, back...
And let go.
She shot forward at her target, just as she had predicted... but at the speed she was going, it wasn't all that surprising that her claws slipped off the branch as she continued flying forward. And yet, there still wasn't fear there, only exhileration... she felt like she could fly...
CRASH!
At least she hadn't landed on hard ground. Then again, this might have turned out even worse than if she had. Because she had crashed into an Absol, whose fur was quite shiny and who had wings. Ozarka was completely undaunted; in fact, she considered the situation quite normal, and spoke as such. "Well hi there!" She smiled her usual grin, which involved a fang poking over the side of her mouth. Then she noticed the Charmander, so she jumped off the Absol and grabbed the Charmander's hand, shaking it vigorously and saying, "Nice to meet you, I'm Ozarka! Have you ever tried flying before, it's really quite fun... that's how I got here, you know, flying. I'm surprised others haven't tried it before me, I would have convinced my family but they seem to treat me like I'm quite mad, so we don't get together often." Realizing that she was still shaking the Charmander's paw, she let go and jumped up onto a branch in a tree where she could easily be seen, staring down at the two others with a very toothy grin. She was one oddball, that was for sure.

Birdy raised a fluffy eyebrow at the Sneasel. I so can't see why anyone would think she's mad. Honestly, some of the Pokémon I created... she thought sarcastically. Despite what she felt inside, she smiled warmly at the newcomer, Ozarka. ~My name's Bird. Right, so now there's three of us. Charmander, Bird and Ozarka.~ she declared, fluttering her wings a little. She peered about. ~You looked like you were waiting for someone, Charmander. Who was coming?~ she asked, curious. Might as well kill time chatting, right?

Charmander suppressed a laugh at the enthusiasm of the shiny Sneasel and tried to answer Bird's question. "Um, just a friend, a rather clumsy Pichu named Zelo. I'm getting really worried about him, actually. Have either of you seen him?" Charmander asked, hoping at least one of her new acquaintances had seen the silly Pichu.

"The only other Pokemon besides you two I've seen today is a grumpy Staraptor... I mean really, did it take that much offense to me falling into its nest? You'd think that a Pokemon could understand... Which reminds me of that time with the Grumpig..." Ozarka rambled on, gesticulating wildly, until she became so unbalanced she fell backwards out of the tree and landed in a bush with a loud thud. For a moment she couldn't be seen, but then she raised a claw, saying, "I'm okay. this happens all the time!" She sat up and rubbed her head, then jumped back up to her paws as if nothing had happened, still grinning.

Bird blinked, nodding slowly. Perhaps Ozarka had fallen from trees and landed on her head a lot or something. In truth, Bird had seen her good friend, a Celebi, that day, along with a small herd of Stantler as she came here, but she wasn't really going to mention that she was aquainted with Celebi, was she? The 'Absol' grinned. ~All I've seen is a herd of Stantler, quite nea-~ she began, but was cut short with a terrible scream, followed by a mad cackling. The scream sounded like that of a Pichu, the cackle... a legendary. Definately not an ordinary Pokémon, at any rate.

Charmander's face fell as Ozarka told her she had not see Zelo. And then Ozarka fell! Charmander held her breath until Ozarka's claws waved up at her and Bird, assuring them she was fine. She turned her attention back to Bird, but she hadn't seen Zelo either. A cackling sound suddenly came from nowhere, sending chills down Charmander's spine. "What was that?" she asked Bird, since she seemed to be suddenly very grim.

Ozarka's ear twitched as the screaming and cackling rang through the forest. She didn't know why, but the fur along her back and shoulders rose, and a chill made her shudder. If she had really had experience with fear before, she probably would have turned her back and run away, something she hadn't done in her life. So instead, she ended up saying, "Wow! What was that? It didn't sound too friendly, not like I'd know, there are a lot of unfriendly-looking Pokemon that are actually friendly. Like Arbok, they don't look friendly but I have an Arbok friend... or at least, until he mysteriously disappeared one day... I wonder why sometimes..." It took her a second to remember how she even got on this train of thought, and when she remembered, she looked at Bird, waiting for the Absol to answer Charmander's question.

Bird let out a low mewing sound, which she quickly turned into a whine as she reminded herself that she was supposed to be a wolf rather than a cat. She lisened to another cry, confirming it was indeed a Pichu. ~T-that sounded like a Pichu! And... you said your friend was a Pichu; this is probably why Zelo didn't come!~ she exclaimed. The second cackle came again. ~Dar... Krai...~ it murmured, and her eyes widened. Darkrai! Bird's paws hit the ground. ~That sounded almost like a Darkrai! Come on, we've gotta help!~ she insisted, racing directly towards the dangerous legendary.

Charmander gulped. Darkrai?! Such a monster was not seen or heard often, certainly not in several lifetimes, or so said the legends. She clenched her jaw and followed Bird, facing the fear settling deep in her gut like a cold knot. Dangerous or not, she'd not leave a new friend to face Darkrai alone. She grunted to herself as she followed the shiny Absol's trail. Darkrai was a Pokemon so powerful to have fallen from general belief into an improbable legend! Not a beast to be taken lightly.

Darkrai? Ozarka had not heard of such a thing. But both Bird and Charmander seemed panicked by this "Darkrai", so she guessed he wasn't as friendly as her friend the Arbok. Well she had come here looking for something to do, so she guessed she was getting what she asked for.
The both of them ran off in the direction of this "Darkrai", so Ozarka followed quickly, darting from bush to tree as if she was being followed, rather than being the follower in this case.

A small yellow mouse like creature darted through the long grass. Long black tipped yellow ears caught the sounds of pokemon chatter. Sparky changed course and head towards the voices. His bright blue eyes sparkled with intrigue. He skowed down as he approached the chatter. Slowly the small pikachu emerged from the grass. "Hello" he said shyly.

Bird's face lit up as she saw the newcomer. ~Hey there, Pikachu!~ she padded over and held out a pink and red paw, meaning for Sparky to shake it. Her wings opened slightly before closing again. ~My name's Bird. This is Charmander and Ozarka. Did you hear that cry earlier? We think it's Charmander's friend Pichu. We think Darkrai's hurting Pichu! If you wanna help, tag along; no time to spare!~ she explained hurriedly, waving a paw in indication for Sparky to follow the little group.
