To be honest, I'm kinda thinking of scrapping the academy.
As for the Pokémon, I'm aware that their sprites are a fail. I've asked the maker to get them back up, but they haven't.

Nooooo don't scrap the Academy! DDD: *Flails*
I'm planning to make a student character as my second one...
I think that the examination idea is very, very good. Perhaps you could do something like promote student characters, so we have a good population there? It seems to me that there're only two people being... students. 0: Possibly a free item for one of their other characters, or money...
There could also be an entry test. Say, a short battle and some other subject tests, like possibly coordination with Pokemon or breeding knowledge... The student uses his or her starter in the battle, and if they pass (I assume they always will, since I'm just thinking of this as an IC thing) they get sorted into different grades, never mind ages, according to how well they perform. Then people who just want to learn stuff can enroll, learn the things, and graduate to resume their journeys? The leaving exam could be another of the same thing. More posting = fun!! X3

Yes, I suppose that would work. And when they finish the exam they could move onto being trainers/coordinators/breeders/rangers. Do you think maybe they should be allowed to keep Pokémon up to level 15 before they beat the first gym (but being allowed to level up those up to level 15 ones to higher than that, if they want), the the second up to level 20 of their old team, third level 25 and so on?

Hmmm? As in, if their Pokemon at the Academy were Level 15 and below, they can keep it when they graduate, but not any higher? Or that they can keep those but just cannot use them in battling?
Also, I support the Daycare Centre thing. Posts > days, w00t! I think it's a good incentive for activity generally.
And and and the swapping Pokemon for training thing! That's really cool; I've never seen if before!
One more thought... Could you type up a set of guidelines for how the rating of profiles is done? So far I compared some profiles, but it seems (to me, that is; what I think is pretty nice may not seem so to you, I know -- many people think so too! > <ll) that some of the profiles that got lower ratings are actually more fleshed out and detailed than some higher-rated profiles... I mean, if you have the time. I just want to know what to strive for when I make my characters... Yeah. Just a smaaaall question. Teehee. *Shrinks*

Hmm, let's see. I don't really have many thoughts about the Academy, but I agree with Krows, I like the daycare posts to days idea as well as the swapping for training. I also really like how we can train alone or with an NPC, and the level system incorporated with that. =]
To tell the truth, a few of the things that attracted me to the site were the length in the RP requirements (in my opinion, they're just right, so it's not so much writing that it turns me off the RP but not so little that people are tempted to write one-liners) along with the rarity list and the challenge of the profile rating (and the fact there are a smaller amount of members, so I could actually get to know others). But focusing on the rarity/rating part, while I agree with Krows in that some profiles that seem to be less developed get higher ratings, I kind of like that fact we don't quite know what we'll get, since it's part of the challenge. :3 When I was making my bio, I was looking up practically everyone's bios to see the length/detail necessary to get a good rating, then just kind of went, "Okay, well, more is better!" XD So I think the ambiguity is interesting, but of course it would be nice to have a "What a standard common/very uncommon/rare/ultra rare profile would look like" page. Still, while that would be nice, I don't think it's an incredible necessity.
My main concern is about number of posts per day, though. ; From what I've seen, (and while I've only just gotten my first character out, I've been lurking for months *shifty eyes*) most members only get in one or two posts per day, which isn't that much in retrospect. Please correct me if I'm totally wrong about the situation, but maybe mods could take over controlling the wild pokemon more? (I assume Birdy's the only one allowed to control Prof Pine and make wild pokemon appear).

Nope, all mods are allowed to play Pine and let wild Pokemon appear, just it seems all our mod go inactive; Angel's the only one left who's on pretty much every day. As for the one or two posts a day thing, that can't be helped; we have to go to school, do homework, you know. As for the profile thing, this has come up before but I can assure you I know what I'm doing. Longness and literacy aren't the only thing I look for, I also take into account originality, interestingness, believability and accuracy.

Ahhh, I see, Birdy! It would be nice to have a rubric, though. XD Never mind me, anyway.
I agree with the part that attracted me being the fact that there aren't so many members I have to meet, Rin! *High-fives*

I know this first suggestion isn't much for the rp rather then the look of the site, but I adore the Suicune skin, maybe think of doing a Raikou and an Entei one or something? or all three? Or could make a skin for each generation with all the legendaries together.
um other then that.... I know we are doing a major plot right now and finished a promotion type thing recently. but how about several sub plots in the current plot? like a few quests or tasks for people to do for their characters to find out what is going on or get involved more? I dunno what you got planned though.
but like for instance the pokemorph ho-oh showed up, someone would stumble on a clue and then another and another that would lead to a team emblem piece of cloth so they know where to go next?
or could also make it so there is a huge party or something for everyone's character to attend, a party or clue hunt or something of the sort. maybe a tournament? could tie random things in if you want or something. Or more ideas for after this current plot to keep people interesting with different stuff to do.

I second the party idea! I have been wanting this and dropping sneaky little hints everywhere, but nothing came of it... D: But it made an appearance here and THERE'S NO WAY I'M NOT SUPPORTING IT!!
Rin and I could take on the skins project, but I'd have to check with her first. O:

Aha, now you're talking about the plot, are you? Well, don't expect me to give anything up about it! Of course, I'll take into account everything people have been saying about it and am making the occasional tweak hear and there based on what I find. Trust me, soon it'll be a lot easier to be involved. A LOT. OK, that was obvious, but still, whatever.

Yes, we (Krows and I) were working on skins. :3 I've been very busy drawing during class (ohohoho). Also, I really support the party idea as well, where everyone can meet each other and chat (maybe it could be like the Trainer Convention or something, with coordinators and breeders welcome as well?) and then perhaps Team Tsuasa could do something and everyone would have to fight back together. That would be so epic. ^_^ I agree it'd be good to have some subplots, and we should probably try to do things so that more people/characters can meet each other and cross threads/make friends and stuff.
However, while I think the tournament idea is good in theory, most people won't want to do it, because it means someone has to lose--and I don't think people really want their character to lose. ^_^; Especially because if your Pokemon faints, you don't get any levels, which is a good system in general but a negative when fighting against other people's characters.

well with the tournament its simple, even if you lose you could get experience from battles or consolation prizes to make it worth while maybe?
oooo yeah just a simple party thing without relation to current plot or anything and team tsusa crashes it or just let people rp together. like there could be a talent show type of thing only showing off your pokemon? not like contests and stuff and only showing how much better your pokemon is to everyone else kind of satisfaction hehehe.

Consolation prizes, I second that!
Partayplz!
Yeah, there could be something like a runway for Pokémon and all, so Breeders and Coordinators wouldn't miss out on the fun if it's just battling. Am I even making sense?
If it's okay, we can have an event where there's an IC incentive to kick it off the ground and attract people to come and play. Say, a lottery, or a giveaway-type thing (which has small items like Pokéball or Super Potion as the "prizes" and FUNDED BY THE POKéMARTS LOLOLOL), and people will flood in. Hopefully. XD
Awesome, Rin! I will go work on my colour schemes... So, various greens it is, plus a Raikou and Entei skin set?
