"Hurry up Shahib!" David yelled at his daemon who had stubbornly sat down and refused to move. "I need to get moving! I want to capture Pokemon!" Shahib rolled her eyes before laying down. "I like it right here." she said with a smirk. "And since you can't move with me staying right here, I guess we're stuck here."
"Think again." David said narrowing his eyes. He walked over to Shahib and picked her up, slinging the Persian daemon over his shoulder. Shahib growled and snapped at David, but he didn't care. She couldn't hut him, he knew it.

Most Pokemon ad leanred, by now, that trainers usually meant trouble for them. So it wasn't surprising that when David entered Route 1, most Pokemon stopped sunning themselves or foraging for foodand returned to their homes until the coast was clear. A few, however, didn't mind the risk.
One Pokemon was particularly curious about him, and on tiny wings, a Natu sailed through the air before landing with a Plop on David's head, then poked her head (which really included most of her body) over his face, her eyes level with his.
~Hello there, yes yes yes, hello. I don't see what's so scary about you, no no not at all, nothing.~ Maybe it wasn't the brightest thing for her to do to stick her face in a cat's face, seeing as to how she was nothing but a tiny bird, but even if she realized this, she seemed to completely ignore it.

David was shocked when a Pokemon landed on his head. "Um.... hello there little guy." David said with a smile. Wow, that was easier than he had thought, finding a Pokemon. He had heard that they usually didn't just land on people's heads. Laughing he picked the Natu up before Shahib could snap it in two. And she looked ready to do that.
"Oh, I have bird Pokemon, they never stop talking." she muttered, glaring at the new Pokemon. "Well, unless their in your stomach." she added with a smirk. David narrowed his eyes at Shahib and moved the Natu farther away. He didn't want to lose this new Pokemon as soon as he had got it.

The Natu didn't seem to catch Shabib's comment. She already liked this person, he seemed nice enough, quite unlike what she had been told humans, or at least near-humans, were like.
However, not all shared her opinion. A Xatu seemed almost to melt from the trees, eyeing David suspiciously before glaring at the Natu.
~What are you doing? I thought I warned you that their kind is nothing but trouble.~ He said in a reprimanding voice. He was probably the Natu's father.
~But, but, but they're not as bad as you say, no, no, not at all. In fact, rather, he seems quite nice, friendly, yes indeed.~ The Xatu's fiery glare seemed to turn up a notch.
~You're not strong, if anything tries to hurt you, you won't be able to do anything about it.~
The Natu looked at David. ~Oh please, please, please, mister trainer, can I have a battle with you? I need to prove to my father that I am strong, yes indeed. Please?~ The Xatu continued to have the same angry look on his face, but said nothing.

Shahib narrowed her eyes, jumping out of David's grasp. "The little birdy wants a battle." she muttered, sitting down on the ground. Well, it would give her a reason just to sit down and rest. Shahib hated walking. Absolutely hated it. "So, you want a battle little one? Sure." David said with a smile, letting the little Natu free and grabbing Shard's PokeBall.
In a flash or red light, Shard the Sneasel appeared and bowed at his opponent and David in turn. Shahib smirked. With Shard's power, this battle was going to be over quickly. ~Hello little Natu. Are you the Pokemon I have the pleasure of battling?~ he asked, staring up at the little bird.

The Natu nodded, looking apprehensive. A Sneasel would be bad news for him, since after all, Ice was super-effective against Flying and Dark was super-effective against Ghost. He would just have to try to keep this battle long-range. He flew up into the air, not too high, and unleashed a Night Shade attack at the Sneasel. The shadowy shockwave would hopefully deal some damage while keeping the bird out of range of those long claws.
