Cruurtun strode down the hallway, drawing looks of astonishment. Not far behind him was a Typhlosion, trying her best to appear inconspicuous, but failing dismally.
Stepping up to the Headmaster's door, Cruurtun rapped loudly, then stood back, waiting.

Mr Rogers swung the door open almost immedietly. There had been more people coming to his office than usual lately. Well, at least, more people coming for their first Pokémon. That was good. The man grinned at the boy before him, the Salamence 'morph with the Typhylosion daemon. His own Arcanine daemon nodded to the Typhlosion.
Mr Rogers waved Cruurtun in merrily. He was definately a cheery headmaster. However, when someone got into trouble, he wasn't so cheery, as Cruurtun would probably hear off fellow students. The man sat down at his desk. "Hello, there! You must be here to start off at Suitay Academy. Right, first things first. What Pokémon do you want?" he asked.

Cruurtun gave a short bow in greeting, and stepped inside, Muukhuz shuffling in behind him shyly. At the question of which Pokemon he wanted, he shrugged, then said, "Don't know." After a moment of silence, he revised himself, "Something stolid and dependable." He glanced at the chairs, not designed to accomodate someone with a tail, and shook his head. He would have to decline if offered a seat.

Mr Rogers scratched his chin. Solid and dependable... that interesting. Solid Pokémon were Rock or Steel types, and there were a few others, too. Cruurtun also wanted something loyal and friendly. There weren't many Pokémon like that, at least, none he had at the moment. He sighed. This was too vague; he needed more information. He'd have to get it out of the 'morph somehow. "Could you be a little more specific? The type, perhaps? Rock? Steel? What kind of stats? Fast? Slow but with high defense? High attack? And what moves? Lots of offensive ones, defensive ones, status inflicters, or a mixture? And what about looks and personality? Loyal, fluffy, cute, scary, tough, protective... just tell me more, OK?" Mr Rogers asked politely.

"I'm not really fussy," Cruurtun said, "But a mix sounds good. And loyal." A scent caught his attention, and he sniffed a couple of times, then sneezed, blowing out a small fireball, which dissipated before it touched anything.

Mr Rogers was deep in thought again. Hm... loyal Pokémon... there were a few. Cruutun was finally being a little more specific. At least he wasn't fussy. The headmaster had seen many people come in, ask to see a few Pokémon, then turn them all down and get something else because 'that one had a funny nose' or 'that one didn't do anything'. Well, Mr Rogers felt he knew what Pokémon to show Cruurtun. A look at his daemon and a couple of ideas had told him. He grabbed three Pokéballs, releasing the Pokémon inside.
The first was a Growlithe. She grinned at Cruurtun, bowing her head in respect. She was a little on the small side, but her coat had a delicate sheen to it, the puffy fluff on her face falling in the right places. She was a small but good-looking Growlithe. She seemed very interested in Cruurtun, but waited for him to come to her, tail thumping happily against the floor.
The second Pokémon was a Delibird, known for their giving natures. Delibird seemed a little hyper today- or maybe that was an understatement. He was jumping about, racing around Cruuurtun. He was a happy chappie!
The last Pokémon was cool and calm, just a little more so than Growlithe. He was a Drowzee, a tapir Pokémon. Tapirs don't need to be tamed, they're already tamed ((I would know, I had a zookeeper for a day thing)) and this Drowzee seemed no exception. He nodded at Cruurtun, smiling. He walked closer, touching the boy. +I'm Drowzee. Pleased to meet you+ a voice said in Cruurtun and his daemon's heads only. This Drowzee used telepathy to communicate in Cruurtun's language.

Cruurtun's hand shot to his head, and his fins quivered in shock. This made it patently clear that he was not used to Psychic-types. He stepped around Drowsee, and moved over to the Growlithe, gently rubbing her under the chin with a knuckle. "The Growlithe is best," Cruurtun said, smiling, and Muukhuz moved closer, coming in a gently petting the Growlithe as well. Cruurtun looked up and nodded, "I choose Growlithe."

Mr. Rogers smiled, glad that at last fate had paired Cruurtun with his first Pokémon. He returned the other two, and Growlithe barked twice in joy, leaping at Cruurtun and, tail wagging maddly so much it was in danger of falling off, she licked his hand, then fell back onto all fours. She was so, so, happy! She was finally going with a human on an adventure! The headmaster laughed. "I think she's happy with that choice! Well, good luck! Hopefully if you come in here again, it won't be because you're in trouble." he grinned, winking and he handed over Growlithe's Pokéball and Cruurtun's starter items. "Oh, and I don't think Growlithe, or whatever you want to name her, likes being in her Pokéball at all. Best leave her out with you, all right?" he said. Growlithe nodded in agreement.
Congrats! You got your first Pokémon!

Cruurtun smiled and nodded, then stood up. "Thank you," he said simply, gently taking the items from the Headmaster, and putting them in a belt pouch that he wore. He looked down at the Growlithe, and knelt, rubbing her under her chin so that her eyes closed in pleasure. "I'll call you Kila'na," he said, smiling. He stood and looked at the Professor. "Until next time, Sir," he said, inclining his head and backing out of the room, closely followed by Muukhuz and Kila'na.
