Seeking a vic-- Pokémon

Slowpoke again made little effort to stop Duin as the Croconaw came at her in that Ice Fang. That might be painful. But, of course, she would learn if she was hit, she'd learn what Ice Fang felt like. The teeth sunk into her left foreleg, and her reaction in the form of a squeal of pain came much quicker this time as her leg became pretty much frozen. She moaned, trying to get it free to no avail.

This time, she was quicker to act, using another Confusion.

Duin growled as the Confusion hit him and he actually had to take a step or two back. He took soon enough a step forward and trashed wildly. He didn't care that he hurt himself in the process of the attack, he just wanted to hurt the Slowpoke. Chris just continued observing the Slowpoke, although it since long had moved 'away'. Layla however continued cheering and hedging Duin on.

Slowpoke was battered a fair amount by the random thrashing about, and her breathing became more laboured; a sign that she was weakened. She didn't really seem to notice or care about this fact, but was still ready to fight, that much was clear. The Water type blinked slowly. She was thinking, thinking hard. Thinking wasn't very easy for her, so this took a little time.

Finally, Slowpoke smiled, taking note of the fact that Duin was near her. She moved forwards, getting battered harder. However, it was worth it in her opinion. Once she had been struck, she tried to strike the Croconaw back with a rather strong Headbutt attack.

The Croconaw again stumbled back, shaking his head slowly as if to stop himself from seeing stars. His 'arm' rose into the air and touched his head as if to check that he was alright. Duin finally stopped, realizing that the 'threat' still hadn't stopped; letting out a rather loud sound of frustration he again stepped closer, arms flying around wildly in another trash attack.

Chris just nodded, as if the sound was just a question "Yes, yes." He murmured softly "You are very correct on that." He scratched whatever he had written out and wrote something different on it. He held it a bit away from him and then nodded "Yes, you're very right." He murmured "This looks far better now."

Slowpoke was battered again, wincing in pain with every strike. But what could she do about it? She was such a slow Pokémon, it was rarely any use dodging. She hated the fact that she was a Slowpoke, but she supposed she would just have to live with it. Although she wasn't terribly aware of how much more she could take, she was quite close to fainting right now. Although she did not know that, she did know she was sick of the pain and found these trash attacks very annoying.

Slowpoke wanted to do something to stop Duin from attacking, but she wanted to cause damage, too. She needed an attack which would move him away or at least make him think up something different to do attackwise. Maybe a Confusion, then. Attacking with her mind, Slowpoke attempted to push Slowpoke away as well as hurt him.

The pokemon was hit by it and shook his head again. Chris finally looked up and smiled distractedly "Use a Crunch.." He said softly, the Croconaw seemed to stumble too the Slowpoke, but then bit himself accidentally in his confusion. Duin released himself soon enough as the pain registered.

Chris blinked and the Deamon next to him let out a small sigh and let out a small sound of frustration in place of Duin. Chris looked at the Espeon for a moment and shrugged lightly, before writing further as if nothing happened. He let Duin fight on his own against Slowpoke, he was sure that the Pokemon would win.

ic// Slowpoke watched Duin bite himself, not quite understanding that at first. However, she soon realized. Since she had used a Confusion, it must have made Duin confused. Yes, that was a reasonable explanation. A wide smile tugged at her lips, and her dull eyes shone in delight. It seemed that Duin wouldn't be attacking her right now if he was attacking himself. Slowpoke wouldn't faint this turn, it seemed.

Slowpoke kept on attacking. She didn't really understand why she was attacking, she just knew that she should attack. She'd figure out why later. Something to do with winning and losing, right? She focused her mind on Duin again. Since Confusion had been a great sucess so far, she should do it again, right? Her logic was that if something worked, it always would. Not the most logical creatures, Slowpoke. Well, this one was using a Confusion on a certain Croconaw.

[OoC: I can see where the confusion comes from ^^;;]

The Croconaw parted his jaws and ran to the Slowpoke once more; he tripped in his steps however and stumbled, hurting himself more in the process. He only hoped that he got her as well. He straightened from his fallen position and looked around, squinting his eyes to let everyone straighten again and regain its original form.

He closed his eyes again and stumbled back, before again aiming for her with a Trash Attack, most likely it would hurt him more than her.

ooc// Hey, I took a peek at your PC, and did you know that Pokémon here can learn an unlimited amount of moves?

ic// Slowpoke shuffled backwards as Duin advanced on her, but he was much quicker than her so reached her anyway. She winced in the Thrash attack, feeling pain and more pain in the fairly strong attack. She could see that Duin was hurting himself in his confused status as well, possibly more so than how hurt she was getting, but in the end, it didn't matter. Slowpoke, once the Thrash attack ended, shuddered and swayed, before crashing to the ground. She had fainted. And, now the battle was over, Duin wouldn't be confused.

Slowpoke was defeated! Duin gained two levels!

Duin shook his head as the confusion lifted and blinked slowly. His jaws parted a few times as he panted, trying to get air in his lungs. He swallowed and then looked at his trainer. Chris looked up by now and blinked "Oh my.." He spoke "I didn't expect that." He walked closer to the slowpoke and crouched, touching her hide softly "We can't leave her here.." He murmured.

Layla joined him and looked at the Slowpoke with big curious eyes. She had never seen one from this close, well maybe once.. She tended to forget things that where useless in her reasoning. Her tail moved briefly, paw touching the pink hide as well.

As Layla touched Slowpoke, there was no reaction. Of course, this did not mean that Slowpoke was unconcious; it could always simply be Slowpoke's unimpressive reactions to things at work. However, she certainly looked like she had been defeated. Her eyes were closed, Duin had gained levels... yes, it was clear. She was fainted. This meant that Chris now faced three options, or more if he could think of them; one, catch Slowpoke for knowledge (it could be interesting if she evolved into an intelligent Slowking); two, leave Slowpoke and continue studying the area; or three, leave Slowpoke and go and search somewhere else, like on Route Six for Larvitar or on Route Twelve for Ralts, although both of those routes might have Pokémon too strong for Chris to cope with if attacked.

He finally pulled a pokeball out and touched the Slowpoke's hide with it. He would bring her to a pokecenter before releasing her. That's the least he could do, she was free to join them if she really wanted. He wouldn't say no to it, the Pokemon he really wanted to study could wait. He couldn't leave a hurt being behind. Layla smiled briefly up at him and nodded Wise choice.. She murmured, he shot her a mildly irritated look and focused back on the Pokeball.

ooc// I love the new Slowpoke sprite. I think it's adorable!

ic// The Pokéball drew Slowpoke inside, barely shaking before giving a soft ping to indicate capture; the Pokémon probably didn't even realize what was happening. Well, a Slowpoke had been caught. You never knew, she might even prove useful. Some scientists had Slowking as assistants due to their extreme intelligence, after all. Well, for now, stick to the present.
