Azurill squealed. No! Not a Fire Spin! Anything but that horrible move! The mouse Pokémon built up all the energy he could muster in his little body, then sprang as far and as hard as he possibly could. The Fire Spin singed his tail, making him whimper, but the vortex went safely past him, thankfully. The Normal type was beginning to pant now; that dodge had been very tiring to perform. He needed time to recover from that before using Swift again, so instead he simply looked adorable, thus lowering Kila'nas attack by two stages; Charm.

Kila'na half fell for it, but Cruurtun let out an angry snarl, and she realised what was going on. She still didn't really want to bite the Azuril, but she was more than willing to unleash another Fire Spin.
This Fire Spin was a bit more powerful than the previous two, as they were moving away from the heavy, humid air above the pool.

ooc// I said Charm, not Attract. You seem to be muddled up. Attract makes the the opponent fall in love and not want to fight, but Charm works like Growl or Tail Whip and lowers Attack. Also, because of that, the Fire Spin would be less powerful, not more powerful.

OOC)): Oops. Well, never mind. But Fire Spin is a Special Attack, not a physical attack; it uses the Special Attack stat to determine its power, not Attack.

ooc// Okey dokes.
ic// Azurill saw the Fire Spin coming. Fire Spin was a reasonably weak attack, it's asset being that it dealt damage each turn while it lasted. He wasn't sure whether he had the energy to stand this attack. Perhaps a Fire Spin would finish him, or perhaps it would take a stronger Bite attack to get him down. Well, he'd better assume the worst and avoid being attacked! The Normal type bounced a strong bounce, and when he hit the floor again he bounced again, hoping to succeed. However, being on his last legs- uh, tail- his bounces weren't strong enough and he became caught up in the vortex again. However, thankfully, he still had energy left, little though it was. He could barely stand.
With all the energy he could muster, he used Swift. It was weaker than the others, the stars fewer and a millimeter smaller. However, it was extremely accurate.

Kila'na yelped in pain as the stars hit her, and ran forward, mouth open. A snarl tore from Cruurtun's mouth, startling Bonsly, who froze, and even scaring Muukhuz slightly, even though she was area of Cruurtun's volatile temperament. At least he had the sense not to order her to Roar.

ooc// Are you sure you want to use Roar? You do know that it'll mean that the battle ends, no levels are gained and Azurill flees, right?

OOC: I didn't. He had the sense not to. It can be surprising what can happen when you miss just one little word.

ooc// I didn't miss that word, I just read the bit before it which reads exactly what a Roar would be like. I just thought you'd meant she'd done it of her own accord. Oh, well. Sorry.
ic// Azurill wondered what Kila'na was doing. It didn't seem to be an attack of any kind. Well, that was fine by him. It was pretty scary, though. However, since it wasn't damaging, Azurill remained on his feet and sighed in relief. He'd last another turn, at least, in that case. That was good. It gave him another chance to attack.
However, as he moved to use a Swift attack, he realized he'd forgotten about something. The vortex. The swirling mist of flame spat about him, and he yelped. It was taking away his energy, as it did every turn. The mouse blinked hard, swaying, before he crashed to the ground at last. The Fire Spin went out; the battle was over.
Azurill was defeated! Kila'na gained two levels!

"Kila'na, enough," Cruurtun said, drawing out, then throwing a Pokeball. It bounced off the Azuril, and drew it inside.
Nervous, Kila'na walked to her trainer's side, where she sat, her eyes fixed firmly on the Pokeball.

Once Azurill had been drawn inside the Pokéball, it began to shake like crazy. Bouncing and shaking, moving about; Azurill still had some strength left in him. However, finally, it slowed and at last came to a stop, resting on the edge of the pool. Phew- another second and it've fallen in! But, it seemed that Azurill was safely held inside, dozing after the tough battle.
Azurill was caught!

Cruurtun walked over to the Pokeball and picked it up. "Good work, Kila'na," he said to the female Growlithe, who seemed to glow with pride. "Bonsly!" the baby Bonsly cheered, almost jumping out of Muukhuz's arms. Chuckling, Cruurtun went and retrieved his towel, and began drying himself. "What do you think?" he asked the girl, towelling out his hair.

The girl smiled. Think about what? Azurill, his battling style? She wasn't too sure, but she did know something she'd like. She hadn't been at Suitay very long, and hadn't had a chance to meet many people yet, but most of the ones she had met were way stronger than her. She wanted to train, level up her Pokémon, and it seemed as if she found someone she could find a good even match in at last. "Erm, you're a good battler, so could you give me a battle? Your Bonsly still looks pretty healthy, if your Growlithe is too tired. I won't use any type advantages, promise!" she said hopefully, fingers touching her three Pokéballs. Cruurtun already knew she had a Buizel, but what about her other Pokémon?

Cruurtun winced, then sighed. "Very well," he said, "But I want a different battlefield. There's too much risk of Bonsly falling into the water here."
"Bonsly!"

The girl nodded. She understood. The poor Rock type wouldn't fare well once submerged. She looked about, thinking about where this battle would best be fought. "How about we go out on the grounds? You could visit the nurse to get your Pokémon healed on the way so that afterwards, you could look for wild Pokémon." she suggested.
