"Bonsly!" came a call from the benches near the pool. On the benches were two Pokemon, and running alongside the pool on all fours was a Typhlosion daemon. In the pool itself was a Salamence Pokemorph, swimming powerfully in laps.
Cruurtun finished one final lap, and climbed up the ladder out of the pool, shaking himself off. The old, rather faded shorts he was wearing dripped, and Kila'na had to stop the hatchling Bonsly from running over and getting himself all wet.
Cruurtun chuckled. Considering this, he needed a Water-type, or perhaps a grass-type. Yes. A grass-type would be best, then he could go capture a water-type. Muukhuz picked up the Bonsly, which cheered happily, snuggling close to the Daemon's warm body.
Note: Bonsly is something of a pet, not part of Cruurtun's team.

ooc// Well, you hatched him, so he can be on your team, of course. I'll post stats at the end of this post.
ic// At that moment, something small and fluffy bounced into the room. An Azuril! It looked about like a deer caught in the headlights, then dived into the pool with bubbles and currents, hiding right at the bottom. There was cascade of bubbles jetting out over it, making it quite well hidden. It gave an excited squeak, which came out as more bubbles. The Pokémon was hiding... but from what?
Right on que to answer that question, a girl raced into the room, looking upset and panting a little. She looked about, sighing. She looked ready to cry. Then she noticed Cruurtun. Maybe he could help her. "Hello! You there!" she called. "Can you help me? I saw a wild Azuril, and then it ran into the school. I've been chasing it when it ran in here! Have you seen it?" she asked desperately.

Cruurtun silently pointed at the pool, and said, "It's in there. I'm not going to be much help; I don't have any appropriate Pokemon yet." "Bonsly!" "Shush!" "Bonsly!" "Please be quiet." Bonsly started using Fake Tears, drawing a sigh from Cruurtun. Kila'na ran over, slipped on the wet floor, and almost fell into the pool, but was saved at the late minute by Cruurtun.

The girl gave a little giggle as Kila'na almost fell in. Yes, she could see that Cruurtun didn't have any 'appropriate' Pokémon for swimming- they would all hate the water! The girl herself was quite a good swimmer, but she didn't exactly want to dive into a pool fully clothed. Well, at least Cruurtun had told her where to look. "Thanks, kid. I'd have spent ages searching otherwise." she thanked him, before fingering the Pokéballs at her belt. Which one would be the most useful. Yes, here we are. She released a Buizel, the Pokémon immedietly diving into the water. He was down for quite some time, during which the girl watched him anxiously from the poolside, before he clambered out, Azuril in his arms.
No sooner had he retrieved the wild Water type from the pool, it freed itself and lunged at Cruurtun. The girl smiled. "I'd say Azuril wants a battle, trainer." she said.

Kila'na tried to jump out of the way, but slipped on the wet floor and went sprawling. Cruurtun reacted instantly, hooking the fire-type with his foot and pulling her to safety, being careful not to cut her with his claws.
"Kila'na, I think our first battle will be a tough one," he said, kneeling beside her, "But it's our first." Kila'na nodded, and jumped forwards, mouth open wide for a Bite attack.

Well, truth be told, Azurill aren't Water types, they just learn Water type moves and evolve into Water type moves and have the ability Thick Fat. However, Azurill wasn on level five, so it didn't know any Water type moves, or any offensive move, for that matter. However, it'd been lucky enough to get a tutor, and had learned the move Swift from there. It felt the Bite attack clamp down hard on it's little head, and it wailed in pain. It hurt... it really hurt!
The Azurill then did what seemed the best thing to do with a Pokémon attatched to your head. It screeched in pain, then set loose it's only move, the tutored one. A Swift attack shot dozens of shining gold stars at Kila'na, and from this close it could be even more painful than normal.

Kila'na yelped, and let go, jumping away. Snarling, she blasted out a Fire Spin without waiting for Cruurtun's orders; this was closely followed by Kila'na again, her mouth open for another Bite.
Cruurtun had been about to give orders, but it seemed that Kila'na was thinking ahead of him; he chuckled, and crossed his arms.

Azuril grinned happily, bouncing a little on it's ball tail in joy. It was it's first battle, too, and it was very glad that Kila'na had finally let go on it! It succeeded in both landing a hit and diving off an opponent! The little mouse gasped at the Fire Spin attack. Oh, goodness, no! The Normal type could do nothing to stop the vortex absorbing it. Luckily, it wasn't a very powerful attack, and it wasn't too hurt, but it would still limit it's movements and hurt it every turn. The Bite attack missed; Fire Spin led Azurill away from the attack. Besides, two attacks in one go wasn't really that fair.
Azurill gave a weak smile. It then closed it's eyes, breathing deeply. It might be caught in a vortex of flame, but that didn't mean that it wouldn't be able to attack. Taking aim, it shot another Swift attack at the Fire type. It had poor accuracy, and only a handfull of the stars at most would hit.

Three stars hit Kila'na, and then only glancing hits. Kila'na snarled, more angered than hurt. "Kila'na!" Cruurtun yelled, "Bite!" Despite the shortness of this order, Kila'na understood, and ran forwards, mouth open to Bite.

Azurill grinned at even that small amount of hits. Hey, it was only little, after all. The mouse was proud of any attack it could get in! If it knew any other Azurill, they'd be jealous! The Normal type watched fearfully as it saw Kila'na approach. That was one Growlithe it didn't want to be bitten by, and now she was coming for it. It gave a squeal of fright, which turned to one of pain as the Fire Spin dealt damage, which turned to a larger one as Kila'na's jaws clamped down on it's fuzzy head.
Now dashing about the vortex with a Growlithe on it's head, Azurill was actually a very comical scene. However, it wouldn't be too pleased by this, of course. It didn't attack, for it was too busy trying various methods to rid itself of Kila'na. The most recent method looked the most painful; Azurill bounced into the air and fell, aiming to land Kila'na first. It's tail was ready to cushion it in case she were to go away.

Kila'na didn't wait for her trainer's orders, countering by releasing the Azuril, landing, then leaping at it again, mouth open wide once again.
Cruurtun winced, and almost missed the counter, but smiled when he saw that Kila'na was one step ahead of the Azuril.

Azurill bounced harmlessly back up again when it realized that Kila'na was no longer causing pain on it. However, what goes up must come down. In this case, it seemed into the Growlithe's jaws. Not too welcoming. Azurill squeaked frantically, but reminded itself that if it lost it's control, it would loose this battle. The mouse breathed deeply. It was ready. It would and could stop this attack from happening.
Azurill used it's large tail to swing it's body weight about in the air. It worked well, but it wasn't too sure whether it would be enough to dodge the Bite. Well, all that mattered was that it was now facing Kila'na. It shot a large abount of golden stars at the puppy, using a strong Swift.

Most of the stars missed, if only barely in several cases, but one caught her right in the face, and she yipped, half blinded. Nonetheless, her jaws clamped onto the Azuril, but onto its tail bulb, rather than its body.

Azuril frowned as most of the stars missed. That had happened with every single attack he'd made so far; why was that? He was shooting them out fairly accurately, after all... hm. Strange. Well, he had worse problems to think about now; it seemed Kila'na was using that dreaded Bite again. The Fire Spin vortex was looking fairly weak now, however. As a five-turn move, it would only have one more turn to go, and so Azurill was feeling less and less pain from it and could move more and more freely. The Bite attack narrowly missed, the Azurill bouncing up right at the right moment.
As he came down to earth again, Azurill fixed Kila'na in his gaze, a determined expression on his face. He could win, he knew he could! Things might not be looking up for him now, but soon he'd do well! The mouse shot a larger, more powerful Swift attack at the Growlithe before he landed.

Kila'na staggered as the Swift hit her directly, then glanced at her trainer. "Use Fire Spin!" Cruurtun said, and Kila'na, growling, blasted forth the spinning vortex of flame again.
