The judge stood ready, beside the centre of the battlefield. A strong Arcanine was at her side, ready to sort things out if it went wrong. She waved a flag and blew a whistle. "Let the battle commence!" she called.

Sean held Comet's pokeball. He looked at his opponent, who would be using another Ice Type. This would be interesting, but he knew he could do better this time, and he believed in his pokemon. "Go Comet" He called as he threw the pokeball and the Ledyba appeared, ready to fight.

Alexander held Thistle's Pokeball in his hand. and knew that with this being a bug-type, it all depended on who struck first. Alexander threw the Pokeball, and the red glow took the form of Thistle, who was sharpening her claws once more; as she seemed to do before every battle. "Let us begin, alright, Thistle?" Thistle nodded, and prepared herself for battle. "Alright, lets start off with Taunt!" Thistle quickly began the battle by using Taunt, which if it worked, would disallow Comet to use any non-physical attacks.

(Isn't taunt just must use Offensive, I didn't think distance attacks like Swift were negated, if they are I'm in a whole lot of trouble)
Sean had been planning to raise Comet's speed so that he could hit the Sneasel first, but fate had different plans as Comet fell for the Taunt, not wanting to do anything besides attack that Sneasel. "All right Comet" Sean said, deciding on a strategy "Fly up high and use a Comet Punch, straight down"

Yes, Gold, Taunt means that only offensive moves can hit. Basically, any move that hurts. So no stat changers or status inflicters, just moves like your Swift and such.

Alexander was rather confused that the Ledyba started out with the Normal Type move. Even though it would heat repitivly, it was still rather odd that it did not start with a bug-type move, which would have devastated Thistle. "Thistle, withstand it!" Thistle let the Comet-Punch hit, and it hit twice before the attack ended. "Now, follow it up with a Screech and counter it with Icy Wind!" Thistle nodded and quickly unleashed her Screech; which if it worked would lower Comet's defense stat. Thistle then followed up with Icy Wind; which (again if it hit) would lower the Speed of Comet. Not to mention the fact that an Ice Attack was quite powerful to a Bug Pokemon.

Comet's antennae were sensetive to the Screech, so that hit quite easily. "Silver Wind" Sean called to his pokemon. Comet's wings beat with as much power as he could muster. This was all about which wind would get through, Bug or Ice, either one would not end well for the Pokemon on the recieving end.

Thistle felt the Silver Wind hit, but because of her Icy Wind used just a moment before, she was not hit at full blast. It was still a pretty bad hit for her, but not nearly as bad had she simply let it hit her. Thistle recovered from the wind to see if her Icy Wind had made any damage on Comet; which she was hoping it did since his Silver Wind had not hit her full blast. To make sure through, Alexander called out, "hit it one more time with Icy Wind, Thistle!" Thistle nodded and quickly sent out the back-up Icy Wind.

The Icy Wind had gotten through a bit, but the gales had nulled each other out for the most part. "Use Agility and dodge it" Sean called to Comet. He shimmered, his speed shooting up and dove out of the way of the Silver Wind "SuperSonic" Sean said, this had been an effective tactic last battle. The supersonic waves buzzed out of Comet's antennae, meant to confuse Thistle

Thistle became confused with the Supersonic. Hey eyes blinked rapidly and her vision seemed to be blurred. "Thistle! This snap out of it!" Thistle could hear, and did her best to focus, however the naturally absent minded Sneasel was deeply affected by the confused state. "Thistle, use Taunt again! Then follow it up with another Ice Shard!" Thistle was able to respond to the Taunt, re-using the attack to hopefully disallow the attacks once more. However with Ice Shard, she was to confused to focus and simply hit herself. "Thistle! Snap out of it!"

Sean grinned, but Comet's Antennae stopped buzzing the confusing signal from the Taunt, how dare that Sneasel make fun of him for using a defensive move. Ooh, he'd get him now. "Bug Buzz" Sean ordered and the Antennae started buzzing again, this time with painful waves.

Thistle cringed at the bug-type move hitting her ears. Her eyes snapped shut as she tried to focus. "Thistle! Snap out of confusion!" Alexander's words were sharp, and even though she was still confused, Thistle opened her eyes and focused as best as she could on Comet. "Hit it with Ice Shard and follow it with Screech!" Thistle nodded, and after stumbling attacked Comet with Ice Shard, however it was not as strong as a normal attack would have been. Thistle then sent out screech, which also made its way through the confusion barrier, even though Thistle had yet to snap out of it.

The Ice Shard didn't have to be fully effective to do significant damage to Comet, and it showed. He was a small Bug/Flying type pokemon against all these big pokemon. But he wouldn't give up. "Bug Buzz again" Sean called and Comet did as he said, his ears were already ringing from the screech, now they once again started vibrating, sending out that dangerous sound.

Thistle suffered more torment with the Bug Buzz, but once it ended Thistle snapped out of Confusion; her focus was back on the battle, even thought she was affected by the bug-type moves, rather harshly. "Don't relax, Thistle! Hit it with another Ice Shard, and follow it with Screech again!" Thistle nodded and quickly acted on her trainer's words.

Sean was starting to get nervous, The perfect thing to do at this point would be Supersonic, but defensive moves were cancelled by Taunt. "Dive out of the way and use Silver Wind" Comet avoided the Ice Shard narrowly, it had learned to avoid that, they hurt. It beat it's wings, this Bug Type move should do some good damage against the Sneasel, maybe he could still win this.
