Character
Name: Blake Black
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Pokemorph: None
Appearance: The most predominate thing about Blake is the scars with speckle his body. The most noticeable ones are over his left eye, his right cheek, and across his throat. These are remnants of a traumatic night in his childhood of which he refuses to speak on. Blake's hair is as black as his name and despite all attempts remains as wild and uncouth as a Gyrados with a gut ache. His eyes are a brilliant emerald green, and give him a little innocent look when they peer from behind his glasses. Blake was raised wearing suits and such, but since he set out he now wears a dark green hoodie, a T-shirt with a Gulpin on it, a pair of faded blue jeans and tops it off with a pair of sneakers.
Personality: To describe Blake would be as such, "Still waters run deep". And with all truth Blake fits that to a tee. With little longing to be around other people Blake finds himself more at ease surrounded by either nature or by tomes of times gone by. But this shyness is in fact a defense mechanism from the same event that left him scared. Blake longs to share his vast knowledge with others, but the event has left him unsure of people and also unwilling to fully place his trust in humans.
History: Blake Black was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, a golden rattle in his fist, and the blasted luck of the Irish. His mother was one of the greatest Poke stylist alive and his father was a brilliant scientist obsessed with Legendary Pokemon. With the finest clothes and an enormous library of books it seemed that young Blake had it made in the shade on easy street. But the Fates are often cruel mistresses and cruel is what happened on the cold October morning.
Blake and his Daemon were playing in the garden when his father came to him. Blake's father was an imposing man, this factor was increased by the presence of his Daemon, a Weavile. But of course to young Blake they were merely his father and daemon. Blake's father smiled and asked if Blake could help him. Blake of course agreed and followed his father to his lab. The next instant was a blur of pain and confusion as both Blake and his daemon were struck down the instant they entered the lab. Blake awoke a while later, strapped down to a table and stripped to his skivvies. In a panic he looked around for his daemon and found her trapped in a cage, and despite her frantic shape shifting held her inside it's bars.
Blake then turned back to his father, tears streaming from his eyes and begged him for an explanation. "All my life I have researched the Pokemon which we call Legendaries. And yet I have never seen them, why is this. It is because I was lacking one thing that draws legendaries," Blake's father replied picking up a cruel and wicked hook shaped tool. With a smile that would chill the blood of an Ice type he turned to Blake and hovered over him. "That thing, my son, is a child in peril. Now Blake, scream real loud." And with that the torture began.
To this day Blake still is uncertain how long he was tortured. But his father did get what he wanted, a legendary Pokemon did appear. However it was not pleased, not at all. In a single brutal attack the Pokemon destroyed the lab and it's master and left young Blake in a sorry state. Hours passed and soon Blake re-awoke in the local hospital. The doctors were talking to his mother who found Blake in the remains of the lab. They said it was a miracle that he was alive at all, but there was bad news. The damage his father had inflicted had left his vocal cords inoperative, in short Blake would never speak again. But this was not quite true. Blake's mother came in a moment later and wrapped her arms around him and in a soft voice that came not from his mouth Blake told her it would be OK. Shocked his mother pushed him away so she could look at him. Blake had spoken, but with his mind. The Pokemon's attack that had killed his father had left Blake with mild psychic powers.
Over the next ten years Blake refined is skills with his mind and his knowledge. Blake's mental powers now allow him to 'speak' with people mentally. While quite useful most people find it unpleasant to suddenly hear 'voices' in their heads. Despite his mother's protests and his own interpretation, Blake has finally decided that the time has come to set out and find HIS place in this Pokemon world.
