Starly chattered in delight as it saw it's attack prove another successful hit. It was thankfull to it's high speed for that. It could see that Puck was weakening, too. Not long now! Then, when it wasn't expecting it, it felt a pink paw jab it sharply. Ow! It cawed in shock, realized quickly that The Cleffa must have used another Pound. It almost fell from the air in pain. It was panting heavily; one more attack would do this.
Starly took aim in less than a second, prepared itself, and shot forwards at Puck in a Tackle. It wasn't as strong as it could have been, because it hadn't moved backwards, and was more predictable because it was in plain sight.

"Dodge it and Sing" Sean called and Puck did so, narrowly avoiding the beak of the Starly. Once he avoided the attack he started singing his enchanting song again. Sean's plan here was to capture a pokemon and be able to heal and use it before a pokemon center, so that Puck and Charlotta wouldn't be the only pokemon getting a turn.

Starly clamped it's wings firmly over it's ears, muffling the attack considerably. The feathers tickled it to the extent that it nearly pulled them out, but thankfully, by the time Puck had finished the Sing, Starly had remained awake although it's eyelids were drooping and it looked very drowsy indeed.
Starly's wings flapped half-heartedly, and it flew at Puck lazily in a veeeery slow Tackle. It was so slow, Puck would be able to make that final finishing move before it even finished it's attack.

Sean grinned, while the Sing hadn't produced the desired effect, it would be good enough "Covet" He called and the Cleffa sent the dangerous hearts at Starly for a final attack.

Starly was sleepily looking out on the world when it remembered that it was currently in the middle of a battle. Oh, right! Too late, it flew into the air, attempting to dodge, but the bird was groggy as though it was half-asleep. Like a human when they woke up, although when a lot of the species of Pokémon woke up they were instantly alert. Starly could not dodge the move in time, and the Covet struck it square and true.
Starly cawed in pain and shock, before beginning to fall. It landed with a heavy thud, moaned in pain, and it's eyes closed for real this time. For, now, it was not asleep; it was out cold, unconcious, defeated. And catchable.
Starly was defeated! Puck gains two levels!

"Well done Puck" Sean praised his pokemon, returning him to his pokeball after giving the baby a hug. Pulling another out he smiled. "Come here Starly" He said and threw the Pokeball at the unconcious Flying Type.

ooc// Have you seen my Route Three thread? Pwease mod it, I don't care how long the posts are as long as they exist!
ic// The Pokéball swept Starly inside, and basically repeated the oh-so-familliar actions it had done when such a device had caught Comet and Anne. At first, it shook strongly, before fading in the power of the shakes until it was still altogether. A soft ping, a light flashed off, and Starly was caught, a new addition to Sean's team.
Starly was caught!

"Welome aboard Starly, I'll call you Stella" He said with his customary whisper to the pokeball before placing it on his belt. "Now let's see what else we can find in this forest. Come on Presta" He then walked further into the forest, eager to see more pokemon

As Sean looked about for more Pokémon, one was to be seen... sort of. You see, a Pokémon itself didn't appear, but rather a fairly large, nicely spherical blue berry fell from a tree and bounced off his head before falling to the ground.
This was when the Pokémon came in. A muttered curse came from the tree, and a slender purple thing came down. A tail. This tail had a hand on the end. A hand? Quite absurd, no? A face followed. A monkey face. This Pokémon was an Aipom, and it dropped to a lower branch, swung low, grabbed the berry with it's tail and jumped higher again. It might not know it, but it was perfectly visable as it juggled three Oran berries cheerily, occasionally doing a trick with it's tail in the juggling.

Sean rubbed his head and had been reaching for the berry when the Aipom had grabbed it. "An Aipom, perfect for tricks, and this one is energetic" He said quietly, and excitedly. "Charlotta, go" He said throwing the pokeball "Use a Pin Missile, hit the base of the tail if you can" The bulb pokemon came out and aimed at the Aipom and shot the pins.

Aipom let out a shriek as a painful pin struck his tail. His wonderful tail! How dare they! He hung upside-down from the tree by said tail, glared at them briefly before deciding that he might as well battle. Bouncing onto the grass, Aipom prepared to fight this puny seed. He had some right in saying puny; Budew are (I think) the smallest Pokémon in existance.
Aipom dove forwards, aiming for Charlotta. His tail swung over his head like on a scorpion, shooting forwards as if on a spring to give the big hand on the end a chance to use the more Scratch on Charlotta.
