Teddiursa cried out in shock and pain as Brian hurled her to the ground. She carefully got to her feet, growling a fierce warning. Her lips were curled back to reveal sharp teeth. She may be intended for first-timers, but that didn't mean she was one herself. As she got her bearings, she realised that the human had begun to try and encase her in this strange yellow path of light. The bear Pokémon snarled, whipping around as the Capture Line circled it again and again. What was this strange matter? Some sort of magic trick? Teddiursa didn't like it. Not one bit! The Normal type did what her instint was telling her; slash at the strange line and fight!

The Teddiursa was definitely making things a lot harder than it had to be. He tried to move the Styler with the Teddiursa's movements but that didn't work. His Styler started vibrating and then it shot into the air. It flipped off the ground and landed. He instantly snatched it off the ground. Alert, he circled the Teddiursa.

Teddiursa grinned as the Styler was knocked from Brain's hand. This was working well! It was actually working well! She could vaguely remember Professor Pine saying something about a Styler's energy weakening when a Pokémon attacked the Capture Line. That must mean that if she kept that up, she would stop the Ranger altogether and not have to worry about him capturing her! Yay! By the time she had figured this out, six rings had already been circled around her. She leapt over the line in a little panic. It wouldn't weaken the Styler, but it would still make Brain start again. The teddy bear Pokémon looked rather cheery, although her cheeks were tinted with pink and her breathes were heavier.

Brian moved the Styler slowly to the left as the Teddiursa jumped into that direction. Which it had jumped. He was successfully in having the Teddiursa miss, but in the process. The Styler light turned into a purple bend. Causing an overcast. The Styler began to bend downward near the tip like a fishing pool that had a huge bite. The only choice he had was to cancel the capture line. And that was what he did. Like measuring tape, the line reversed straight back into the Styler. Then, he picked up a rock, threw it in the air just between he and the Teddiursa. And began swirling the Styler in circles as fast as he could. Hopefully th Teddiursa was watching to see where the rock went instead of concentrating on Brian.

Teddiursa watched the course of the rock through curious eyes. What the? Was this one of those 'field moves' or something? A trick? The teddy bear shuffled carefully over to where it had landed with a dull thud, sniffing it curiously. Why would the Ranger throw a rock? Maybe it was a Pokéball in disguise! No, Teddiursa could see nothing on the rock which much suggest anything out of the ordinary-
Then the Normal type straightened up and yawned, padding over to Brian's side as though she had been his Pokémon all her life. Loosing complete interest in the rock, her large eyes were now on Brian. The Capture Line had disappeared; Teddiursa had been caught!

"I never thought I'd find anything more easily-amused than you, Brian...." sighed Yori with a hint of shock. Brian took out a pokeball and a red light flashed, causing the Teddiursa to disappear. The orange case slipping off the tip and evaporating into thin air after it hit the ground. "That's two that are captured.." Brian said, beginning to run again. He was actually excited, things were comign along rather easy and he was making fast progress.

Up ahead, cries which were barely more then whispers drifted along. ~Tad... Lo... ta-lo...~ came the voice. It sounded close by, just a very strange voice... oh, what could it be? Some Pokémon to aid Brian in his quest?
As they approached, the sound became clearer, as though the hushed speaker was in a very, very good mood. Little bubbles began to float up from a spot, as the Pokémon leapt up from his hiding place. ~LOTAD!~ grinned the lilypad Pokémon.

Bubbles sprayed from a spot in the grass made him rather uneasy of what could be lurking. But when he saw the pokemon with the appearance of a lilypad, he was fine. It was a Lotad! One of the starters. Ignoring all the talk and what not like the other two pokemon, he immediately started circling his styler around the Lotad. His The Capture Styler predicted how many spins. It read 11. Whether it was 4 or 11. He'd have to capture it anyway. The Capture line had circled around the Lotad 7 times already. Would this be easier than expected, or would random ninja powers break out from the Lotad.

Lotad watched the Capture Line. Hey, a game! Funfunfunfunfunfun! The lilypad Pokémon grinned and danced happily for a moment, the saw the serious expression on Brian's face. A goofy smile appeared on his own. His human needed cheering up-
~Ooooh.~ Lotad gasped in delight as he watched the Capture Line make another turn. Pretty colours! The lilypad wanted to touch it. He reached out with one paw. The pretty light disappeared! NO! Where did it go? Lotad looked around frantically for his light.

" You're all set, this poemon is an idiot..." Yori assured with a bored sigh. Brian had already figured that out himself as the Lotad was dancing around. He started swirling the Capture line in circles around the Lotad a bit faster. Hoping he would capture it before teh Lotad had another brilliant plan.

Lotad watched the Capture Line. It went round... and round... and round... and round. Pretty lights! They were baaaaack! Lotad sang terribly as he danced and skipped happily, watching the light dance with him. Happiness was winning! He had his happiness! YAY! ~Pweddy lights! You is back!~ the lilypad Pokémon sang, not hugging them in case that made them disappear.
When the lights did go, Lotad wasn't sad. In fact, he now bore the same expression as the other Pokémon had, blank, empty. Under Brian's command. From the next route, which wasn't far, came the cry of a Machop. Another Pokémon on Brian's checklist.

Brian was in wonder as he just dropped the Lotad's pokeball which sucked in the Lotad. Was he that close to Route Two already. Time must've went by fast. Then again, he had captured three starters already. Checking off the pokemon he had recently captured off the list, he took off to Route Two. using the Machop cries to guide him.
When he approached a new route filled with long swaying grass, he saw a figure not too far away of a tiny person. He ran after it, finding the cries getting louder. He almost wanted to rip his brain out. Then, the tiny person came clear, it was a Machop.
