Growlithe snarled in anger and frustration as her powerful jaws clamped down on nothing more than air. At first, she turned to face Rinika, snapping her jaws and such. Then with a feeling of having her heart dipped in fear, she realised that Rinika now knew her weakness, the one which would knock her off balance and really, really hurt. She whined, then looked at the Sonicboom attack coming towards her. Each would deal a certain amount of damage, regardless of type mismatches and so on. Ideal for fighting a Ghost type against a Normal type. She fell the blades cut into her, and she whined again. When she got to her feet, she was panting heavily and dangerously. None the less, she made another charge for a Bite, surprisingly accurate with the aiming.
Nidoran could see that Twilla was momuntarily out of breath. Excelent! That meant less work was needed to avoid this attack. The cat was currently twisted over, not a very easy position to sustain if there was no more force on it. At the moment, the force was Twilla moving to Nidoran. Nidoran ducked under her, making her fall to the ground with a good kick on the leg. Nidoran then turned in a wide arc and made his way back to Twilla, lunging for a Peck. Now it was him in the unstable position.

The Growlithe was clearly tired, but she wasn't the only one. Rinika landed badly from her jump, tired, and placed her paw once more on the bitten arm. It was only when Riza shouted "Rinika, watch out! Use Slash once more!" that Rinika saw the charging puppy Pokemon. She couldn't move fast enough, and yelped as the Growlithe's little teeth dug into her fur and skin. She couldn't reach the Growlithe's nose so she slashed at its eyes, hoping to disorient the Growlithe once more and cause her to lose her grip.
Twilla twisted back to her paws, surprised at how the little Nidoran had managed to make her lose her balance. None the less, when Riza gave her the command, "Wait until it gets close, then use Scratch!" Twilla waited for the Nidoran to draw near before dropping down onto her belly to dodge the Peck, then turned over onto her back and lashed out with her claws at the Nidoran's belly. However, she was rather unprotected in this position, and would be easy to hit.

A weak, faint smile threatened Growlithe's lips, but the puppy Pokémon held fast none the less. This was it! She was turning things around at last. This would be good. She clamped her teeth down harder, although due to her weakness, it probably wasn't all that hard. She then felt a sudden, extreme pain on her face. Howling in agony, she immedietly released her grip and staggered backwards a few steps. Wow, that had hurt. A lot... wait, were there always two Buizels fighting her? She stagged and swayed, then finally crashed to the ground, fainted.
Rinika gains two levels!
Nidoran felt more frightened as his team mate was defeated, feeling that he might go down, too. This might just not be pretty. He squeezed his eyes shut, whimpering in fear, before he had pulled himself together and paid more attention to Twilla. Her soft belly was open to him, and, despite feeling sudden, extreme pain, Nidoran was still going. He leaned over to Twilla and Pecked at her exposed body in a final effort.

Rinika panted as the Growlithe let go. The puppy staggered backwards a few steps before fainting, falling forward into the ground. Finally, Rinika's mouth curved into a triumphant grin before she turned to look at the battle between Twilla and the Nidoran. It was a double battle, but... both Rinika and Twilla had the right to their own victory for their first battles, without any help from the other. She turned and stumbled to her owner's side.
Riza let out a cheer as the Growlithe went down. It was a fierce battler and was very persistent; Riza knew she wanted it on her team. She pulled a Pokeball from her bag and tossed it at the little puppy, then turned her attention to Twilla's battle without even seeing if the Growlithe had really been caught. As Rinika returned to her side, she scratched the little Buizel between the ears distractedly. Her Pylenti was in a bad position; her stomach was probably the softest part of her body, and almost the most unprotected. She was about to give a command when she saw Twilla acting on her own.
With a loud growl, Twilla scratched at the oncoming Nidoran's face as it drew near to Peck. This was it; if either attack hit the other would be knocked out.

The Pokéball containing Growlithe was shaking violently, as though the puppy would easily break free of it's red and white realm. Then, with a final shudder, the Fire type fell silent within the Pokéball, allowing the capture device to hold her inside permanantly. She sighed, feeling that she had tried her best. Because of this, she felt somewhat content with the capture and her new trainer.
Nidoran breathed heavily as he focused everything he had on this attack. If he struck, he knew he would defeat Twilla and have victory over the human trainer. However, he also knew that if he failed, the Pylenti would win. His eyes shone with determination, desperate to win. Then, out of the corner of them, he noticed the female Nidoran. Aha. If he won, his life would remain unchanged. However, if he lost, he would never see that dreaded face again... the determined glint left his eye as he no longer cared about winning or losing. In this space of time, it was suddenly too late to reconsider; Twilla's claw dragged along his side, and he crashed to the ground, defeated.
Nidoran M was defeated! Twilla gains two levels! Growlithe was caught!

Riza's bated breath was finally released in a loud sigh of relief, and her demeaner quickly changed to one of overly exuberant joy; she jumped up and down yelling her happiness at having won her very first battle. Even quiet Kaiser couldn't help the strong wave of emotion from his human counterpart, and became a Totodile while dancing around happily. He stopped as he realized something though. Riza, you need to catch the Nidoran!
Riza stopped jumping around and said, abashed, Oh, right... I got a little carried away there didn't I? But before tossing a pokeball at the Nidoran, she grabbed the pokeball of the caught Growlithe and put it in her bag. Finally, she tossed a Pokeball at the Nidoran and watched it form into nothing but red light before being closed in the Pokeball. She was sure the Nidoran was caught; it seemed intentional when he was hit by Twilla's Scratch attack rather than pecking her soft stomach.
So for the second time, she ignored the Pokeball to return her Pokemon to their Pokeballs, but only after a pat on their heads and saying to them You guys did a great job out there; I'm so glad we won our first battle! They agreed as they were enveloped by their own Pokeballs once more. Kaiser shifted into a Leafeon as he watched the Nidoran's Pokeball carefully, making sure it had really been caught.

The Pokéball easily swept Nidoran inside, and began to shake rather violently. It seemed as though Nidoran might break free at any second! This might be a tight outcome, if anything at all. The Pokéball continued to twitch and shake about for what seemed like an eternity, before, with a delicate ping, the Pokéball fell still and the light on it disappeared. There was only one explanation for this!
Gotcha! Nidoran M was caught!
The Pokémon standing by all cheered, and the female Nidoran breathed a sigh of relief. Now she would never have to see the male again! Mankey grinned at Riza. ~Thank you so much!~ he exclaimed. The path to Route Two was easy enough to find; Riza was practically on it at the moment.

Riza felt the most satisfactory feeling she'd had all that day; all of the Pokemon cheered on her victory in joy. She quickly picked up the Pokeball and put it in her bag, Kaiser cheering her as much as the other Pokemon around her.
"It was nothing, really, guys! I'm glad I could help!" She was beginning to get really excited; who knew what other Pokemon were waiting down the road, waiting for help? She spun on her heel and raced off towards the next route, turning her head to wave at the Pokemon, a grin on her face. After only a moment she was running straight at the path once more, Kaiser a Taillow flying swiftly beside her.

You may now continue to Route 2. (or stay here for a bit if you really want)
