ooc// Sorry if I hadn't made it clear, but Ledyba's wings were in until Charlotta was off her.
ic// Charlotta's Pin Missile got a wince from Ledyba, pinging against it's armour, making it rise a little in the air as Charlotta began to fall. The ladybird felt the weight of the Budew disappear, so it snapped out it's wings again so it wouldn't fall. Hm... there was another thing it could do. It grinned as it though of the plan. Yes, it would be perfecto!
Ledyba turned in the air so that it's head was facing down, towards Charlotta. It beat it's wings hard, and began to shoot down to earth. It had taken aim on Charlotta, but hadn't quite realised a flaw to it's plan; the aim of this aerial Tackle would be poor. However, it was adjusting it's aim every now and then. Perhaps Charlotta would be hit anyway? Perhaps she'd be able to his Ledyba's wing again?

ooc// sorry, must've missed that
ic// Charlotta stumbled as she got to her feet, it really was time to end this. She was getting tired and any more attacks to her legs could end this battle the wrong way. Sean was trying to figure out what to do in this situation, Pin Missile was more effective than Absorb, but only dangerous when it hit the wings. Sean didn't think that a repeat strategy would work, this Ledyba only seemed to know one move but made up for that deficit with excellent strategy, a nice addition to his team.
"Charlotta, use growth" She did as she was told, trusting her trainer more and more now that he was showing her he knew what he was doing. The energy flowed through her as her attack rose again. "Now roll backwards and use a Pin Missile" Charlotta rolled just in time to avoid the tackle attack and aimed for the wings as they were the obvious choice of target now.

Ledyba didn't think Charlotta would attack. It saw her use Growth again, but that was nothing. Just raising her Attack stat again since there was nothing else she could do, right? The ladybird zipped forwards, faster than ever. Her eyes widened in shock mingled in fear as she saw Charlotta roll to one side and fire a Pin Missile. Ledyba made haste to draw in it's wings again, but it was too late. Ledyba was struck hard in that tender weak spot. It was pushed upwards a little with the force, then began to fall.
Ledyba's wing hurt so much it didn't want to use it. It tumbled down to earth, landing painfully in a heap on the ground. It was clearly fainted, and this battle was clearly over. It was now up to Sean; throw a Pokéball to possibly catch Ledyba or leave it be?
Ledyba was defeated! Charlotta gained two levels!

"Well done Charlotta" Sean exclaimed as he ran up to grab the pokemon and hold her in his arms. "You were wonderful" He praised it. "As were you Sean, you handled that battle excellently." His Daemon told him "Thank you Presta. The Ledyba was a fierce opponent, and a worthy addition to his team. He took out a pokeball and threw it, as well as placed Puck in a pokeball for safe-keeping. He watched the pokeball carefully, would the Ledyba resist?

The Pokéball easily absorbed the fainted Pokémon inside, where it began to shake rather violently, worryingly violently. Ledyba was a determined fellow, and it didn't want to be caught. However, fainted Pokémon are almost always caught because they can't put up much of a fight, and this Ledyba was no exception. The Pokéball gave a soft ping, announcing a capture after little over a minute.
Ledyba was caught!

"Welcome to our team" Sean said proudly as he picked up the Ledyba's pokeball and put it on his belt. "You streak across the field, so you will be our Comet." He told the pokemon though he didn't think he would hear. "Charlotta, well done, it's time to take a rest though" He pulled out the Budew's pokeball and she vanished in a flash of red light. "I'm proud of you" He whispered to the ball as he placed it back on his belt. "Now, let's get going" He said to Presta, who nodded

As Sean moved further along the route, more activity seemed to be about. Twice, it seemed as though some Flying type would challenge him to a battle, but they scarpered, twittering in fright, as he came near. However, there was a Pokémon who didn't flee. It simply followed him... silently, slinking through the bushes while following the trainer like his own shadow would. The only sign that ther was anything there was a sudden, startled bleat and a pair of eyes... would Sean investigate?

ooc// would I need to heal Comet after catching him before I could fight with him, or is he healed after capture
ic// Sean heard something behind him and turned around quickly, his hand flying to his belt to grab a pokeball if the need arose. "Who's there" He demanded, not knowing if what he had heard was human, or otherwise

ooc// Pokémon are never healed by their Pokéballs, you need to go to a Pokémon Center to do that, so Comet needs healing. Charlotta still has some energy left, 'cos she didn't faint and she's gained levels. And Puck's still at full health.
ic// The startled bleat would be a clue as to what the creature was, but now it heard a human directing a question at it, it felt as though it would be best to remain silent and unnoticed. However, a blue face briefly poked through a bush, studying Sean carefully for a mere second before vanishing. Then, as it seemed to have deemed Sean 'worthy' or whatever, the Pokémon strode out from the bushes.
It was a Mareep. The Electric type bleated that same bleat, the sheep's static wool crackling as he tried to look threatening. He adopted a battle pose, which in Pokémon usually signalled that they wanted to fight.

ooc// forgive the horrible puns, I've not gotten 10 hours of sleep over the last three days, I'm staying awake on day old 3 cans of Pepsi and 2 cans of Mountain Dew energy
ic// A Mareep? thought Sean. An electric type is good for contests, they put on shocking performances He threw the pokeball releasing the Cleffa. "Puck, it's all you" He called "Cleffa" the fairy pokemon said energetically. "Okay, try a Charm" Puck raised his paw to his mouth and gave a little smile radiating a cute charm

ooc// ...why you not getting any sleep?
ic// Mareep sighed as she watched Puck. Aw, he was such a little cutie! Her Attack stat dribbled away as she stared at him. Aw, she just wanted to pick him up and give him a biiiiig hug! But then the sheep shook her head. No. Remain focused. It's just a trick, the move Charm. This Cleffa is like just any other opponent.
Well, her Attack had been lowered, so the damage was done, anyway. However, that was hardly cause for her to give up, was it? She lowered her head, letting out a soft bleat as she pawed the earth. Then she sprang, bounding towards Puck in a Tackle attack.

ooc// sleep is back, I didn't get any because of College, which included a concert and didn't go down until 2, and a church trip, where I got nearly drunk on Soda and stayed up until 2:30, and woke up before 7 each day, but I'm back to a good schedule
ic// Sean noticed the sheep staring at Puck, yes this was working. When Mareep charged, obviously breaking out of the charm Sean decided to take this to the offensive himself. Since Mareep's attack had been weakened Puck might have the advantage in a colision, though Mareep's tended to be a bit stronger than the average Cleffa
Ah well, it was worth a shot. "Puck use pound!" He ordered. The little pokemon jumped up and brought his feet forward to land on the sheep pokemon.

ooc// Good to hear it.
ic// Mareep smiled as her Tackle connected. She was pleased. Good thing size was at her advantage! The sheep bleated in happiness, which quickly cut off as the Pound attack struck her hard. She cried out in pain, eyes squeezed shut. She opened them, staggered, and shook herself; the blow had been to her head. Oh, that silly Cleffa! She'd get him, she would, for that!
With an anrgy battle bleat, Mareep's head was ducked low. She was pawing the earth, before she pushed off against it, racing towards Puck in her only offensive move; Tackle.

Puck rolled back, stinging from the tackle attack, that had hurt, direct atacks wouldn't be the best thing, but it was all he could do. "Try another charm" Sean called and Puck once again put on his cutest face he could to lower the opponent's attack. "Now covet" Puck's eyes went from cute to needy as he reached forward painfully at the Mareep to grab anything it could.

ooc// I looked up Covet, and it sends out little hearts.
ic// Mareep once again felt her Attack stat dribble away at the move Charm. Hm, she'd got to do something about that, or her attacks would count for less. The hearts of Covet plipped against her, and she winced with each one. That was a painful attack. She oughta try not to get hit by it that much.
Then she lowered her head again, and raced against the ground, charging in a strong Tackle attack. Despite making extra effort, it wasn't as strong as it would be if Puck hadn't used Charm.
