ooc/Ok, I need to stop with the song titles
ic/ Sean started the trek to the next town, leaving Pine Labs behind. Charlotta had climbed up onto his shoulder and was enjoying the view. Taking in the world, as it had never left the lab before. As it turned around to look at something else it tripped on a chip of Sean's shoulder armor and Sean caught it. "Gotcha Charlotta, you're very excited it seems, that's good, we need that for a contest" He continued on his walk, hoping to find more beautiful pokemon to catch so that he could win contests easily.

A little Pokémon was travelling along the route. A Ledyba, to be exact. The ladybug Pokémon was buzzing lazily over a patch of flowers, hovering about a foot over the ground. It was flying about slowly, taking time to take in the flower's delicious scents. The Bug type's eyes were half open, relaxed. Ledyba noticed a form, not that it bothered it too much. Probably just a passing Rattata. However, the figure seemed humanoid and coming this way. Ledyba thought it looked a bit like a Scyther. Still, no problem there. The figure stepped close enough to be made out, and Ledyba dropped to the ground like a stone. A... human! A trainer! But wait... need it be terrified? This could turn out to be fun... yes, fun. Ledyba smiled, flying over to say. ~Hello, Sizor-man. I'm Ledyba. May I request a battle?~[/color] the Pokémon asked. If Sean won, he would be able to catch the Pokémon. After all, there was more to a contest than beauty. In a contest, you just had to work to a Pokémon's looks, feel, personality and attacks to get a good rating in cute, beauty, cool, tough and smart.[/size]

Sean looked at the bug type pokemon, it seemed to be a good pokemon. He smiled "Of course you can Ledyba. You would be a great addition to my team, but I'll have to win that right" He looked up at Charlotta, who was still perched on his shoulder. "You want to give it a try little one?" He asked and Charlotta smiled gave an excited little squeak and jumped down to face the Ledyba, curtsying in front of it. Once the opposing pokemon had time to ready itself Sean began "Pin Missile Charlotta" He knew that a bug type move like that wouldn't do much damage to a bug and flying type, but it was a good start.
Charlotta opened the tip of its bud to spray needles at it's opponent, one barrage was way off and nearly hit a bright yellow egg, Sean noticed this and picked it up to protect it from this battle. The second barrage was too high and also missed, Charlotta focused on the third barrage of pins and shot it directly at the Ledyba, whether it would hit or not it wasn't sure

Ledyba didn't do anything to try and dodge the Pin Missile attack. However, it didn't seem to have much of an effect on the Bug type. Perhaps if Sean weakened it's Defense, or heightened Charlotta's Attack stat, then Ledyba would feel some damage. Or maybe it would take a strategy. Either, way, they'd have to think of some way to make the not very effective more effective. Because, in Pokémon, trainers and coordinators had to work to learn how to cover up weaknesses, right?
Well, Sean didn't have long to think; Ledyba was already hovering in the air, preparing it's first attack. Wait... in the air. If Ledyba fell, that would be painfull, right? Well, perhaps that was Sean's answer right there. Ledyba moved forwards, racing towards Charlotta. It was attempting a Tackle attack on the Budew.
Just then, the yellow egg Sean had picked up to protect from the battle shook, as though greeting it's trainer. Then, a thin crack appeared down the side, which followed others to make a whole network of cracks. Then, suddenly, the egg split open and a little Cleffa looked up at Sean from where it sat among the eggshell.
Sean got a Cleffa from his egg!

Sean noticed that the pin missile did nearly no good. That's right, Ledyba was a bug type, just like that move. Sean looked down at the newly hatched Cleffa. "Aww, you're so cute" He said with a smile. But then he returned his attention to the battle. "Charlotta, dive under the Ledyba and aim another Pin Missile at the wings" The poison type pokemon did as she was told, doing a spinning dive to twist around and shoot the pins as it passed. Hoping more on inertia to hurt the pokemon than the physical attack. "Once you land use a growth to prepare for your next attack"

ic// Ledyba was puzzled by whatever the Budew seemed to be doing. What was it doing, anyway? It was being confusing, that's what. Ledyba tried to watch what she was doing underneath it, and then felt a searing pain in it's left wing. Yow! What the? That had hurt! It felt another, and another, before it wailed in agony, drawing in it's wings and clamping it's wingcases down again. It fell, landing as best as it could, but at least it was better than enduring that attack. It stood up, eyes blazing with anger. It was obvious that it had chosen not to use it's wings for this battle, so Sean would now have to think of some other way. Ledyba watched as Charlotta used a Growth. Interesting, a Growth. Boosted Attack power, right?
Ledyba snarled at Charlotta. It wasn't too keen on the Budew right now, oddly enough. It raced towards the Budew, using a Tackle attack. However, it wouldn't be as powerful as last time, because Ledyba wasn't given the speed of the air.

ic// Sean saw the Ledyba coming in for another attack as he held the Cleffa who was laughing at this scene. "You like it do you little one, I'll call you Puck." He returned his attention to Charlotta, Ledyba was gaining on her "Hold your ground Charlotta" The Budew nodded, obviously confused, but she trusted her trainer. When the Ledyba was less than an inch away Sean gave his order "Absorb, now" Charlotta opened up her bud and green orbs went flying at the Ledyba, nearly all of them connecting due to the proximity, but the bug type did manage to connect with Charlotta as well, but a lot of that damage was recovered due to the absorb attack. As Charlotta rolled backwards and stood back up slowly Sean smiled at her "Well done Charlotta" Presta was looking impressed at Sean, he had started with an inefficient(sp?) attack and had turned this whole battle around, with moves that wouldn't normally hurt a bug type, by using strategy, he would make an excellent coordinator.

ooc// Sorry if I'm sounding naggy or strict, but you're not supposed to say what happened to both the attacks. You see, since you're Charlotta, you have to put whether she was hit. I put down whether Ledyba was hit.
For example;
Member: My Pokémon was hit by Tackle then used Bubble.
Mod: Wild Pokémon dodged Bubble and used Tackle again.

ooc// okay, I will attempt to do this better in the future, so Charlotta's attack is merely just firing at you, but the second tackle did hit. And to elaborate, She spun under the first tackle to avoid it as well as to attack herself, I wasn't clear enough.

ic// Ledyba smiled, pleased, as it's attack struck it's mark successfully. Yes! Perhaps it could win this! Tackle was the only move it knew, but it was a more powerful attack than Absorb; however, Absorb would give Charlotta back some health. Hm, speaking of Absorbs, that was what Charlotta appeared to be using. A Grass type move, eh? Well, they weren't very effective against her, but not so much as the Bug type move had been. However, the Budew's attack had been boosted, right? The beads of energy actually made Ledyba wince as they leapt into her, stole some energy and returned to Charlotta to heal her.
Ledyba's eyes narrowed. Hm. It had actually felt the attack that time. The ladybird, presently hovering in the air, leaned forward so it was lying flat in the air, and shot forward in yet another Tackle.

Charlotta felt some energy return to her after the pain of that tackle. That was a very good thing. "Charlotta" Sean called to her "Use Growth again" Charlotta felt the energy coursing through it as it boosted it's attack. "Now jump up onto the Ledyba's back" Charlotta didn't understand how it was supposed to manage but she nodded as she did what she was told. Fumping up, though her lower body got tagged by the tackle, knocking her face first onto the ledyba due to even more laws of physics that the poison type didn't understand. "Now, use Pin Missile" Charlotta understood the method behind her trainer's madness now, he was a bug type, he knew the vulnerabilities of the wings. The bulb opened again as the pins shot out, but charlotta was in a very vulnerable position herself, and her lower bulb was stinging from that tackle attack.
(Sorry if I did any God-Modding that time, I tried to avoid it, let me know if I did though)

ic// Ledyba watched cautiously as Charlotta used her Growth attack. Hm... that attack upped her Attack stat, did it not? The Bug type would have to be a little more careful. It's wings beat faster than ever as it zipped towards the Budew, and the ladybird Pokémon bore a wide smile on it's face as it saw that it's Tackle attack had been a successful hit. Ledyba then realized that Charlotta appeared to have fallen onto it's back. Oh? That couldn't be good. Ledyba's vunurable wings were out in order to keep it in the air, and it didn't really fancy dropping to the ground. A jolt of pain shot through it's body. It felt as effective as if the Pin Missile attack had been normally effective! Ledyba cried out.
One thought was in Ledyba's mind right now; Get the Budew off. It used a Tackle attack to get itself to a high height. Then, it dove straight downwards, tipping upside down so Charlotta was being pulled down to earth by gravity. Ledyba would wait until either Charlotta had fallen off or it was about to crash into the ground to pull out it's wings again.

"Charlotta" Sean called, having not realized that the Ledyba could do this "Use a Pin Missile and use the force to propel you off of the Ledyba. Charlotta once again was confused by her trainer's idea, use a move to make yourself fall. But she alreaddy felt herself ready to do just that so she sent pins at the wings again and the movement she used to spray the pins sent her falling to the earth, but by twisting her bulb as she had for the attack made her roll as she hit the ground and she probably took less damage from the impact then she would've had the Ledyba's technique worked unhindered.
