TRAINING

Stretching her arms out in the shining sun, Rima sighed and putting her hands on her waist smiled out at the grassy training area she chose for herself. There weren't any obstacles that could aid in battle, only grass - that's how Rima wanted on. Rather than using the terrain, Rima wanted to train her Pokemon on their technique. Now she had five Pokemon to choose from, so which two should she have battle it out? Taking five Pokeballs from her side, Rima flung them into the air as Ven (her daemon) picked out a spot for himself in the grass to have a short nap.
"Come on out everyone!"
All the Pokemon revealed themselves as they were released from their Pokeballs. A Riolu. A Shiny Meowth. A Pachirisu. An Entei. And a Vulpix. Rima smiled at them all with her eyes closed as she usually does when she smiles. However when there was no reply or shouts to her in reply she opened her eyes confusingly to see that her Pokemon were all fighting again.

Rima bent her head in shame as the Pokemon fought one another. Well I say all, but really her daemon was quietly and calmly lying down, Entei had decided to leave the rumble alone and went to lie down next to Ven and Arawn the Vulpix was walking over to Rima and sitting by her side as he laughed teasingly at the Pokemon fighting. It seemed that Rini (Pachirisu) and Mina (Shiny Meowth) had decided to get into an argument as soon as they saw one another and Kei (Riolu) was in the middle trying to stop the pair of bickering girls. Rima looked down at Arawn by her side, he seemed to be enjoying all of this - the mischeavoius fox. Rima clapped her hands together with a sigh and the htree Pokemon bounding over one another stopped adn stared at their trainer. Rima walkde over to them, her shadow towering over them. She bent down low with a smile and picked up the Meowth and Pachirisu up by the scruff of their necks. The two Pokemon hung from their trainer's hands and felt embarssment as they lowered their heads. Rima nodded and said,
"If you two can afford to fight each other and waste valuable energy adn time witout getting anywhere by yourself then you can go back in your Pokeballs."

The two Pokemon gasped. And Mina wriggled free as she apologised adn went to lie in a seperate piece of grass to Ven adn Entei to fall asleep. 2 of her Pokemon obvioulsy weren't interested in becoming stronger, so that left 3. Rima looked at the squirrel hanging cutely in her right hand who was wriggling and struggling to be set free. Rima sighed and put her face close to Rini's.
"Rini - you sure have a lot of energy, you're training today then."
Rini slumped and sighed as she was picked to train today. Rima now had a choice, Rini vs Kei or Rini vs Arwan. Kei blinked up at Rima innocently adn proudly. Rima had trained Kei quite a lot since he was her first Pokemon so he was going to be let off today. SHe looked down at the fox by her leg who was similing smugly, she said to him,
"Arwan. You too."
Arwan didn't even change his expression. He just followed his orders obediently as Kei went to sit beside Mina and watch the match. Rima stood in between the two groups of lazy Pokemon, with Rini and Arawn in front of her. Smiling she stood straight and said,
"Let's go!"

As Rima spoke, the two Pokemon put themselves into battle stances. Rini bending lower her eyes locked smugly on the Vulpix a distance away, her fists outstretched. Arwan opposite her bending his torso lower and raising his six tails, glaring at the Pachirisu with confidence. Rima smiled and called out,
"Rini you first! Use a Quick Attack!"
Rini pushed herself forward onto all four paws, runnign toward the Vulpix ahead of her rapidly. Rima nodded with ths satisfying electric type. Turning to Arwan she nodded. Arwan knew what he had to do. This wasn't an actual battle - it was a technique battle so both Pokemon had to spot the other's weakness and then get them to improve. Arwan watched Rini closely as she ran in a straight line toward him. rasing his six tails high and straight - a flame appeared in front of each. The flames began to glow adn grow biggerr - they then shot alternate ember attacks at the incoming Pachirisu. Rima called out to Rini again,
"Rini you need to dodge the ember attack, don't run in a straight line when using Quick Attack! The speed may increase but you're an easy target for an opponent with a special move!"
Rini nodded in reply, her teeth grinding against each other. She jumped from side to side, continuing to run forward as the emebr attacks kept coming. Eventually she was close enough to get her attack to hit. She pounced into the air and then came shooting down, landing on the Vulpix's back andreboudning off into the air adn sfaetly back onto the ground.

Arwan was pushed down by the airbourne attack, his feet collapsing from underneath him as the Pachrisu Quick Attacked from above and flipped behind him. He quickly stood himself up again, smiling smugly at Rini who was also smiling confidently. Rini raised her eyebrows with a challenging grin,
"Not too shabby eh, Fox boy?"
Arwan bared his teeth with a grin, laughing at the squirrel. Rima clenchd her fist happily as Rini performed well. She then called out to the heted up Pokemon,
"Arwan! Your turn! Let's use a Tail Whip and then an Ember!"
Arwan nodded, he ran sqiftly toward the Pachirisu that was behind him, charging toward her. When he almsot reached her, he performed a half flip - it seemed like the Vulpix was suspended in midair as he flipped in watch seemd like slow motion. Taking his opponent by surprise he whipped his six tails in Rini's face and sent her tumbling backwards. He then finished his flip adn landing on all four paws safely. Rini's defense was lowered now and it gave him time to use an Ember. Rima nodded happily. That was a good way to use Tail Whip. It looked really cool too!, so Rima couldn't help but squeal with delight.
"Try and counter Arwan's ember, Rini!"

Rini nodded. Now both Pokemon had been given an order. A Quick ATtack from Rini and an Ember from Arwan. Arwan opened his jaw, drawing in breath to release an Ember but Rini was way ahead of him, she charged toward him rapidly with a Quick Attack - runnig straight into his body and sending him flying into the air in pain. Arwan tutted with disbelief adn disappointment as he flew over the squirrel but managed to land on all fours once more. Rini glared smugly at the Vulpix. Arwan clenched his teeth a little and then drew breath again - hoping to get his attack to hit this time. Rini charged once again at the Vulpix with a Quick Attack. Arwan was sent flying into the air, this time he flew over Rini's body as the Pokemon had hit him with a slight spin - so rather then senidng him lfying the otehr way she ahd sent him spinning over herself. Then an idea came to Arwan! He had alreayd drawn breath for his attack. So as he span over the Pachirisu he released his ember attack. The flames span in many directions as they came hurtling toward the ground. There was nowhere for Rini to run and she was engulfed in a sea of flames from above. Landing safely, Arwan watched as the smoke passed. Rini was standing their still. Her energy sapped and a little bruised by perfectly fine. Arwan was a little bruised too and his strength had lost a little too. He smiled and said,
"What d'ya think Squirrel?"

Rima clapped her hands playfully and happily. Running toward the two Pokemon and tending to their wounds. She ruffled their head fur and stroked their fluffy tails. Smilgin at them both, enthusiastically she shouted,
"Great fighting you two! We can use those techniques in future battles!"
The Vulpix and Pachirisu stared ta one another, not with anger intent and nor with sadness but in smugness that the two of them were quite good. And they had just shown each other what kind of opponents they are. They laughed a little. Then Rima set out a picnic for all the Pokemon to eat and regain energy. All the Pokemon laughed and chatted with one another - though Rima only understood what Ven was saying, the mood was good and happy. The light atmosphere was welcoming. And for once, Rima's Pokemon weren't fighting.

TRAINING

Rima's teeth sunk into a very nice looking, crimson red, shiny, lucious apple - and the juice was succulent just like every other fruit Rima ever picked. Well, I say picked, but in this context the definition of such a word would be described as: chosen at a groocer's organic market stall not too far away from the training ground of dewy grass that this particular girl had chosen. Anyway, after finishing the apple, Rima stretched out her arms, reaching high into the sky and then gently falling backwards to lie against the soft, bouncy blades of grass that happened to be convienetly placed for her comfort. She smiled as she looked at the fluffy clouds that slowly swayed past in the blue sky. Memories of searching hours on end came to mind and her smile faded as she thought about the past that was so long forgotten. Ven watched his human's expression disappear into sadness he lowered his head in disappointment for her mysterious past. Ven didn't really care about his and Rima's past but Rima did and that's all that mattered. Rima continued to look at the pale blue sky, her Pokemon silently pleasing their stomach's with food. Without budging an inch she spoke seriously,
"Hey, Entei, you've travelled far and wide haven't you? You've been over mountains and across oceans, searching right?"
Entei, the fire beast legendary, raised his head from his front paws that he had been resting his furry skull on and stared at Rima, though she had finally called him properly... somehow it wasn't reassuring...
"Yes. What of it?"
Rima continued to stare upwards into teh sky, showing alook of distress and hope at the same time,
"Well have you found... have you ever seen someone looking, searching for a girl?" Turning to her side to look the giant Pokemon in the eye she said hopefully, "What I mean is, someone, anyone, missing a girl that should be there? Someone longing for an emptiness to be filled? Searching for someone.....like me?"

All of Rima's Pokemon stopped what they were doing. Kei, Mina, Rini, Arwan, Tamaki, even the mighty beast Entei who should not be usually moved, and the tiny companion of Pichu stared up at Rima. The atmosphere had changed. And not in the right kind of way... Ven closed his eyes and sighed heavily, muttering,
"Rima..."
They were all now in an akward situation and everyone struggled for words. Most showed solemn faces or confused ones, but none showed any sign of turning the situation into a pleasant mood. That was, however, except from the most unexpected creature to do so. The intelligent, down to earth Riolu raised himself off the floor and lightly padded over to his trainer, gently laying a paw on her head. Everyone watched the touchign scene unfold, until Kei raised his paw quickly adn karate chopped Rima's head! All the Pokemon gasped. Kei? Inteligence, sophisticated, calm Kei, karated chopped Rima's head?!?! What next? Would geodudes fall from the sky? Swablu rise from underground? Arcanine swim in water? Well, there isn't much other verbs you can use in water I suppose, apart from drowning and paddling, and floating and swaying, and flowing... Well maybe there is... But let's get back to our story shall we?

Everyone stared at the strange acting Riolu. Shock written over their faces. Even Rima was surprised from her very first Pokemon adn sat up as soon as the pain was felt from her head. Staring ta him, Kei began to speak,
"I don't believe that any of this is necessary Rima. We can worry and complain for all life's worth but it will do us no good and get us nowhere. I suggest that training and travelling farther is your best option if you're looking for something, and in order to do that we need techniques and strength improved. I for one am ready for such an occasion. So, pray tell, who shall be my opponent?"
Everyone stared. Everyone blinked. Everyone stared. Everyone blinked. Everyone stared. Everyone.... Well you get the idea. The puppy had a point. No one made a move for a few moments. But then Rima's shoulders slumped and her muscles untensed, and a gentle and thankful smile spread across her face as she lightly patted the Riolu's head. Entei watched, and feeling guilty stood himself up proudly stating,
"I will."
Now the attention turned to Entei. Entei vs Kei? The two most unlikeliest Pokemon to fight were having a showdown?! Arwan watched the skies in slef delight, expecting heavy rock Pokemon to fall - but alas, the Vulpix was wrong. He smiled to himself before resting his head on his paws and muttering slyly,
"This should be fun."
And Entei and Kei made their way to opposite ends of the field, ready to take on one another in a training battle.

Rima left the picnic, quickly telling Ven to take care of everyone whilst she did this. He stared at the ones that he had to 'look after': a rowdy Shiny Meowth, a bossy Pachirisu, a know-it-all, mischeavious Vulpix and a kind, nice Bulbasaur who had a personality disorder. Jee, would what this dameon be doingbe considered ;looking after'? Oh, well, nothing he could do about it so he decided to sit back and watch the battle unfold. Rima stood in her position and stared at her two Pokemon with a smile on her face.
"Kei let's start off with a Quick Attack!"
Kei ran forward, pushing himself off briskly toward the giant Pokemon opposite him. He hsot forwrad, his ears flapping behidn him as he did so. But as he got close, he struggled to decide whereabouts to hit the Entei with the attack and instead ran through his legs. Tsking at himself, annoyed he looked form behind the Entei as he skidded to a halt. He ran out of time so the attack had become useless. Entei's head turned to look behind him. "What had happened there? You're suppose to hit with your attack." he thought to himself but turned forward as he saw Rima in thought.

Rima hit her fist into her hand, quite a common trait in their adevntures, as an idea came to her. She called Kei back over to where he was and asked Entei to prepare himself once more. The two stood opposite once again. Rima called out again, this time with detailed tactical information,
"Right that didn't work. It's a large opponent after all - not that you're fat Enty!, you're just... you know... large and legendary? Kei, try using a quick attack in a striaght low, gainign a lot of speed by leaning down slightly and then jumping and flipping, and aiming higher with your legs."
Rima had a more detailed plan, but didn't want Entei to know, he might avoid it or disagree and Rima wanted to see how this would work in other battles. She hoped Kei knew what she meant. He seriously nodded at his trainer, who grinned back, and pushed himself off again. He kept in a straight line, and lowered the air resitance by lowering his body slightly. When he came close enough he leapt high into the air, and then as he came back down he turned his body so that his legs were poiting forwrad and at an angle at Entei's form. As he came back down, due to laws of gravity of course, his hind paws collided with Eneti's face and then he rebounded off with a back flip adn landing in a aquatting like position, one paw on the ground.

Rima squealed with happiness. This move was effective! She jumped up and down, clapping her hands and shouting,
"Great Kei! Great! You did exactly what I intended!"
Then she stopped as she saw the Eneti humiliated by getting a kick in the face that was a Quick attack by a Pokemon a sixth of his size. The Pokemon on the side lines, Ven included, began to laugh; it wasn't every day that a Legendary got kicked in the face by a Riolu. Rima began to giggle slowly adn awkwardly before saying,
"Sorry Enty... But you know.... If I told you it wouldn't have been effective...."
Entei eyed his trainer... really her? He was supposed to serve this naive little girl... But at least she was happy again... He sighed and said begrudgingly,
"Miss Rima, it's Entei. En-Tei. Not Enty. If you manage to humilate me, at least could you pronounce my name correctly?"
Rima giggled again and then returned back to the battle as the riolu stood himself upright.

Returning to the battle, Rima called out,
"Entei your turn, but Kei pay attention 'cos after this we're practicing your new move."
Both Pokemon nodded.
"Okay then, Enty since you're... well... a giant compared to most Pokemon..... In most of your battles I recommend staying still in case of... squishing? the opposition."
Rima said it as a question rather than a statement because she didn't know how light the legendary was on footwork. But she didn't want Kei or any other Pokemon to be crushed by a furry brown paw. Entei sighed as Rima quickly returned to saying Enty. But he nodded in agreement; he had to listen to her. Kei nodded, it obviously meant that Rima wanted him to run at Entei - so he did so. Launching into the air when he got close, and using the same move he just practiced. Entei knew what was copming, but what to do? Rima managed in the nick of time to utter,
"Use bite to grab Kei's leg and swing him into a slam dunk!"
Entei reacted quickly, and it was too late for Kei to avoid! Eneti grasped the Rilu's leg in his massive jaw and swung him in the same line he had been coming down on, but slammed him into the ground beside him. It seemed almost effortlessly, as all Eneti had to do was open his jaw, close it and then move his head to one side and downward and natural forces would od their work. Kei collided with the ground, his back and leg feeling painful as he did so.

Rima didn't like seeing her pokemon get hurt - but it had to happen at some point; no Pokemon ever went through life unharmed. So she had to get used to it now. She shook it off and pointed to the two Pokemon again,
"Alright I want the same situation again! Bare with the pain please Kei...."
The two Pokemon were shocked and stared at her again. She wanted Kei to feel this pain again! All the Pokemon on the sidelines stared in shock also. Even Mina was interested. What was Rima thinking? But Entei adn Kei trusted her. THey returned to the same positions and repeated the process again. Just as Kei came down from his great leap - feet faced toward Eneti's great hed, and Entei reaching out to grab the Pokemon in his jaw, Rima called out immediately,
"Drag your legs in and cross your arms at the ti of the bite by using Counter!"
Kei did as he was told, despite his surprise. Tucking his legs back in, as the Eneti's jaw collided with his crossed arms he used Counter. It absorbed the attack, getting the pain form the bit as it dug into his arms, but once Entei's attack was over, a blue light shone out of the Riolu's arms and he retailiated the attack with double the strength - hitting the Entei on th face with a punch that absorbed the strength from the bite and doubled it in power.

Everyone blinked. Except from Entei who was lowering his head in pain. It was a lot of pain after all! He'd just been hit with his own power times 2! Rima ran over and raised Kei into the air, spinning around in delight. Then she came to a stop and smiled as Entei handled his pain. Placing the Riolu on the floor, Rima wlaked over to Entei adn put her hands behind her back. Leaning down, Eneti looked at her - Rima smiled and then gently kissed him where he had been hit. Entei blushed and with shock backed away in embarrassment. Everyone stared at the situation. There was silence for a moment. And then everyone, Entei included, burst out with complete laughter. The trainign for the Riolu and Entei was over. How much stronger had they gotten? What was next for the gang? No one truly cared. As they were all absorbed in the hilarious stuation taht had just unfolded before their eyes.
