A New Beginning

"Hey! Hurry up already! I'm getting tired of waiting!"

"Well you wouldn't have to wait if you would just slow down!" Violet yelled while trying to catch up with the Mightyena. "No way! I see the lab just up ahead!" Hazuko replied, not letting up, now sprinting even faster. After a minute or two of more running, he skidded to a stop in front of a rather large building. "See? We're already here!" You would think that Violet would be more excited than her daemon wouldn't you?

Violet hesitated a moment before lightly knocking on the door. "Could you knock any louder?" Violet just ignored him and opened the door. She peaked in before walking inside. "H-hello? Is anyone here? I'd like to get a starter Pokemon." She said, glancing around the room.

It was dark in Pine Lab today. Complete blackness, apart from the slight faded figures of objects you could see as your eyes adjusted. It was a misty atmopshere and felt quite cold. Not like the normal, warm welcoming Pine Lab that most young trainers were used to. However, there were some people in the background. Some moving figures were making their way closer to the entrance that the girl was just about to enter from. Opening the door in reply to the knock was a man. He looked kind and had a pleasant aura about him so he seemed nice but coming from the misty, frozen Lab was a little suspicious. He coughed and spluttered as fumes exited through the open door. He wore glasses and adjusted them slightly as he saw the girl and her daemon,
"Sorry about that. Some mischeavious ice Pokemon decided to freeze the Lab so we are trying to deal with the problem, seeing as they've frozen teh electrical cables and the central heating is broken... But...yes don't worry come on in, we have some fire types carefully working on restoring the Lab to its original state."

He laughed as he welcomed the girl inside. There were a few baby fire types like Vulpix and Magby who were working on carefully thawing out the Lab and a couple of Pichu's sitting around the room to keep light inside. So it was a little odd, but there was never an ordinary day at Pine Lab. Proffessor Pine smiled at the girl and said, as a Noctowl flew to his side,
"Again, sorry for the maybe not so warm welcoming... ha... Ha..." He coughed before continuing,
"Yes, anyway. Nice to meet you, I'm Proffessor Pine - I own this here Lab and this is my daemon Telepa."
He jestered to the Noctowl before turning back to the pair of creatures that had entered the Lab,
"Now do you have an idea of which Pokemon you'd like to have for your starter?"
