The first new steps of life.

The young woman walked down the path. Her hair was cut short and was smeared with black, green peered out of their sockets. The Natu Daemon was seated on her shoulder once more, the Skitty she had gotten on the other. The tiny cat mewled, talking about everything that it saw in its short life, neither did they mind that the cat did so. It was rather amusing to hear those tales. She and Silas sometimes met each other's gaze that carried messages for the other, she nodded softly and then hushed the small cat and nodded to the leaves that moved urgently, as if something was hiding there. The kitten jumped off and skipped of to there, even before Lilly could stop him "Lith!" She hissed, worry seeping into her.

At the same moment Lilly called for Lith, a pair of evil-looking eyes appeared next to the Skitty, along with a low growl. It seemed this thing truly wasn't very friendly. More like, say, the I'm-gonna-kill-you-but-look-cool kind of glance, rather than the friendly glance. Another soft growl, and the eyes moved closer. A voice called out. ~You... young Skitty... you have disturbed my sleep. For that, you must pay.~[/color] it boomed, menacing and laced with eyes. The bushes rustled violently as a green Pokémon shot out; a Cacnea. He faced Lith, snarling. ~I have an ounce of coutecy myself, so I'll let you go first!~[/color] he spat.[/size]

The young kit yelped in surprise and jumped backwards. Lillith ran forwards nonetheless and glared at the Cacnea "Don't worry, Lith." She said "I'm here." He looked back and then nodded his head, turning his own sudden fierce eyes on the green Pokémon 'use growl' he heard his trainer faintly call out "Skitty!" He called out in an endearing way, using the growl attack as he was commanded to do. Lilly finally stopped and grinned lightly, the Cacnea wouldn't see what was coming to him! The kit then jumped out of the range of it and decided to speak to it directly ~How polite of you~ He spoke, making Lilly frown slightly ~But it would be your downfall!~ Ah, the arrogance of youths.

Cacnea's dotted mouth curved down in a snarl, the eyes glaring at the cute Skitty as he lowered his Attack stat. There was always a way to counter these things, always... Cacnea knew he had to think quickly, before the cat could act again. However, Cacnea did not know a move which would heighten his attack or even lower Lith's, like the Growl had done. But... he did know Leer. Yes, that would do well. If the Skitty was taking more damage than he should, but Cacnea's attacks weren't as strong as they should be, the two would cancel each other out, right? Well, it was worth a try. Cacnea's gaze became more menacing, more able to invoke fear in any opponent to lower their Defense; Leer.

He felt imitated by the leer attack and as expected dropped his defense, Lilly growled softly and Silas looked at her Let him use tackle, dear one. He spoke then, he would have grinned if he could as he saw Lilly not "Lith, use tackle!" The kit looked back at his trainer as if questioning if she where mad, but then nodded and rushed towards the Cacnea; Lith almost tripped however and as a flailing ball of pink fur rolled to the Cacnea. Lilly groaned softly in desperation, great. Silas looked like he sweat-dropped, hopping away from Lilly for a moment.

Cacnea planted his feet into the ground; hopefully the spikes would hold him in place; that Skitty's Tackle looked pretty strong. Despite all that, when the cry of pain from him which announced Lith's Tackle had hit died away, he had slid back a few centimetres, leaving a little trail of dug up earth. Cacnea stared at Lith in shock for a moment, before he sprang back into action again. He whipped his arms about, ripping from them pointed needles; Poison Sting.

Lith and his trainer looked on in shock themselves. They both hadn't expected that to hit either, but then she grinned and nearly danced "Alright." She crowed out nonetheless. She saw the Cacnea attack once more and her eyes widened again "Lith!" She cried out again, the kit didn't see it in time however, but he still tried to evade it. A few passed him and he cried out as poison spread through him. He was poisoned, gritting her teeth Lilly searched for an antidote. She looked up nonetheless again "Lith, tackle again!" The Skitty nodded and rushed forward once more, ignoring the small shudders wracking his body ~You meanie!~ He cried out, sounding the age he really was.

[Birdybot]

Cacnea smiled smugly, nodding at Lith's comment. ~I know, isn't it great?~[/color] he laughed in response, poking his tongue out. He was so busy gloating over the poisoned opponent that he didn't even realise that there was a Tackle attack coming his way. The cactus Pokémon squealed as Lith rammed into his back, sending him flying head first into a tree. His long needles were now working against him, working like carpet nails in attatching him to the soft bark. Cacnea eventually managed to tug himself away, snarling furiously at Lith. ~Oh, you are gonna pay for that. HEIIII!!!!!~[/color] he screamed the last part, holding his arms out to Lith as dozens of tiny green energy balls sprayed from them. This attack was an Absorb attack, intended to recover his health as well as hurt Lith.[/size]

Lith didn't let himself catch unaware again and jumped and ducked out of the way of the green balls, although they seemed to follow him for a while, not good! His trainer meanwhile had found the antidote and crouched "Lith." The Skitty ran to her and waited patiently for the Antidote that would get the poison out of him and leave him a bit safer from being drained.

She scowled and looked at the Cacnea, she had to say that she didn't really like him hurting her new Pokémon, but it seemed that she couldn't do anything about it. She tilted her head and bit her lip faintly, planning her next move carefully "Lith, use Tail Whip and then tackle Cacnea again!" The kit grinned and did so.

Cacnea's mouth twisted into an ugly snarl, his green face screwed up into the furious expression. Antidotes! His Poison Sting's poison could be healed! Also, Lith would be highly unlikely to be infected again in this battle, what with the Antidote still swirling about his body! The cactus Pokémon let a growl rip through his throat, and, without thinking, charged straight at Lith. The Tail Whip was ignored, but the Tackle was met head on by Cacnea. Although he was in pain and weakened by the attack, Cacnea hung onto the kitten Pokémon and shot an Absorb directly into his pink hide. This would hurt more, since it was such a close range.

The pink cat indeed did cry out, struggling against his bonds as he tried to get the feeling of being drained away of himself "Lith!" Lilly shouted, taking a step forwards. She looked as if she where just planning to kick the Pokémon away from hers, she hated to see him like this. She nibbled her lower lip and then looked at Lith's paws "Can you use your claws?" She called out, the kit was clueless however, pausing it struggling for a moment to look at her, then returned his attention violently back and again struggled to get free.

Cacnea's grasp broke free fairly quickly; without any fingers, it was hard for him to hold on very long. He grunted in frustration as Lith broke free, angry that he was beaten by a kitten. A pink one, at that. He was furious! He was so angry he was... like an super villain! But that was silly. Instead, the cactus Pokémon was rolled over by the force of the Skitty breaking free, before he stopped himself by planting a spike in the ground. Looking up at the kitten, he couldn't do much other than glare; a Leer attack.

Lith rolled away and looked at him frustrated. He growled lowly in his throat, before making it his own attack to counter the leer. He hadn't listened to his trainer's order and nearly winced as he realized this. He quickly looked back, but she just grinned at him and nodded. He saw the subtle sign though that she made with her hands and would have grinned back if he could "Skitty!" He yelled out, charging for another tackle. She leaned back and was thankful that he understood it, she wasn't able to explain it fully to him yet.

ic// As the Skitty charged at him once more, Cacnea struggled with the spike he had implanted in the ground. Staying still was okay for stat-lowering moves, but it's hard to dodge enemy attacks when you're stuck in the ground. And thus, it was not surprising that the Skitty had an easy time tackling him, dislodging him from the ground once more and causing him to roll backwards a few feet. He quickly got to his feet and fired an Absorb at the Skitty; he was getting low on health, and whose health was better to steal than his opponent's?

The Skitty's eyes widened, but he wouldn't fall for the same trick twice! He hopped away and tried to evade the glowing orbs that seemed to follow him, with an annoyed sound he turned and rushed back to the Cacnea after an order from his trainer. He wouldn't disappoint her, that was practically the only thought that flashed across his mind as his eyes narrowed.
