Appearance: Kira is short, barely topping five foot, having finished growing when she was 14. Slender in form, she is easily pushed about by those bigger than herself. However her slender body does have some advantages. What she lacks in psychical strength she more than makes up for in speed and agility. Her breasts are a small c-cup in size, and her hips are of an average size, neither very wide, nor very small. One benefit of her high level of magical power is that she can eat what ever she wants and doesn’t have to worry about her figure, for a magically powered metabolism is well able to deal with anything and everything that she cares to throw its way.
Probably the first thing anyone notices about Kira, other than her small and slender body, are the two huge wings that sprout from her shoulders. Properly pinioned, the feathered wings stretch from a full half foot above her head, to half way between her ankles and her knees. Usually Kira carries them half furled, making herself appear slightly bulkier than she actually is. Like the wings of any Aveon, the appendages are feathered. Mid brown feathers cover the back of her wings, while creamy tan feathers adorn the front.
Kira’s ears, located on the top of her head, are an exact match to those of a normal Aveon, though scaled up in size to fit a human head. A group of thirty specialized muscles allow her ears a full 180° range of movement. Her hearing is extra sensitive, allowing Kira to hear sounds far higher and far lower than any normal human, as well as hear things further away and hear soft noises in conditions with large amounts of background sound.
Bright green eyes appear slightly too large for Kira’s face. Like all of the most powerful mages of her world, when she manifested her secondary Gift at 14, Kira’s eyes became one solid expanse of green, with no pupils or whites visible. To the inhabitants of the world in which she was born, such a thing is normal, to those in whose realm she now resides, the appearance of her eyes is considered extremely freaky.
A normal human’s spine ends at the buttocks, with a wide bone known as the tail bone making its end point. Kira’s spine continues on past this point, forming a proper tail that extends a good arm length and a half out past the end of a normal human’s spine. The tail is covered in short midbrown fur, and ends in fan of feathers of the same colours as her wings.
Short mid brown fur follows Kira’s spine form her hair line down to her tail. This fur also flows part way down her collar bone, a short distance under each breast and part way over her hips. The fur is very soft, and Kira takes great care to keep it well maintained.
Kira’s hair is kept short, only just brushing her shoulders at its longest points. No matter what she does with it, it has a permanent wind mussed quality to it. In colour it is a pale reddish brown, with strips of the Mid Brown and creamy tan found on her feathers and fur.
Clothing preference is by necessity, loose and easy to move in. Kira’s usual outfit involves a green halter type top, one with a low back to leave her wings with plenty of room to move, and black pants so wide they look like a skirt, with a special slit in the back to allow her tail to move freely. A wide leather belt completes the outfit. The belt has space for six pokeballs on one side and a scabbard for her sword on the other. Two small daggers are usually worn strapped to the inside of each forearm, while an all purpose knife hangs next to her sword.
Personality: Kira is essentially a nice person. She’s not always puppy dog eyes and rainbows, but she does genuinely care for others. Perhaps its because her first gift was healing, or maybe she’s always been this way, But Kira can not pass by someone needing help and not give it to them. Because of this she will make a great Ranger some day.
Kira does have a bit of a temper, which is usually directed towards those who would dare to harm a defenseless person, be they human or Pokemon. She’s not above using her battle magic to summon a fireball to scare people, though she’d only ever fire them at someone who hadn’t learned their lesson.
Trained from a young age with various weapons, Kira is surprisingly good with a sword and dagger when one considers her tiny frame, and an excellent shot with both short bow and long bow. She constantly practices to keep her skills sharp, though since she evolved, Kira has found she had great difficultly using a bow, as her wings tend to get in the way of firing, or she accidentally blows the arrow off course.
Kira loves to cook, whether it be in a full kitchen or over an open fire, the act of preparing a meal bring her a strange sense of comfort and happiness. She hates eating pre made food, and refuses to subject her pokemon friends to the premade Pokechow that most trainers feed their teams. Instead she always carries around enough ingredients for several meals, as well as several bags of Custom made general purpose Pokechow, and specialty Pokechow for her team members.
History:Kira was born into a world very much like this one. Her world held pokemon and trainers and morphs just like this world does There is however one major difference between this world and hers. In the world to which Kira was born, everyone had magic. Everyone ages normally until they hit full physical maturity at which point their magic takes over, slowing their ageing. The more powerful the mage, the slower they age.
In that world there were three classes of people: Mages, Witches and Basics. Magic users with enough power are capable of manifesting Gifts, an affinity to a particular branch of magical power. Primary Gifts, the one to which a person is most connected, usually manifest during early childhood, Secondary Gifts when a person reaches their teens. Tertiary Gifts are rare, and can manifest at any time after the secondary Gift has been realized. All people with even the lowest levels of magic have access to a personal extra dimensional space, The more powerful a person’s magic the larger the space and the more things they can keep in it.
Basic’s were the lowest level, their powers to small, leaving them unable to manifest even a single Gift. Witch’s were in the middle of the range, having manifested a Gift during childhood, but failing to gain a second during adolescence. Mages are powerful enough to have both Primary and secondary Gifts, and the most powerful were able to manifest a Third, or Tertiary Gift.
Kira’s parents were both Pokemorphs, her mother an Espeon morph, her father an Absol Morph. Both were quite low down on the scale of magical power, barely able to summon the power to light a candle. So it was quite a shock when the magic tests taken of all children an hour after birth, showed Kira to hold the potential to be the most powerful kind of mage. It was however no surprise to anyone that their child was an eevee morph.
Having tested to such a strong level of magic, Kira and her parents were given a place within the Dalmaska Clan, one of the most powerful groups of mages on the planet. The main reason the Dalmaska’s were so powerful was the fact that they were willing to adopt new and powerful mages into the clan, unlike some, who were obsessed with keeping the ‘blood pure’, and objected to the idea of ‘diluting their magics’ with those of a ‘mage of common birth’.
Kira was a mere five years old when she manifested her first Gift, a Gift for healing magics. Having managed to escape the protective watch of her Parents and the Dalmaska nanny, she and Jai stumbled across the infirmary just as an older Dalmaska brought in an injured Trapinch. The sight of the injured pokemon, caused Kira’s magic to kick into gear and brought about the manifestation of her first Gift. Each affinity manifests itself differently, and to those who watched from outside, Kira appeared to be surrounded by a soft white glow, as she reached out to the wounded Trapinch. Undirected Healing magics can have unexpected consequences. Only a fraction of the power Kira summoned was needed to heal the trapinch, and with nothing else to do, the powerful magics summoned during manifestation took the only way out of Kira they could. The power flowed into the Trapinch, filling it to the point where the pokemon evolved into a Vibra. As soon as the magic was gone, the child collapsed.
The amount of power required to evolve a pokemon Via magic is enormous, and when the Dalmaska elders sat down to review what had happened, it was decided that Kira had to begin her studies with the clan’s best healers immediately, for fear that she might accidentally cause an magical overload trying to heal someone else, and end up killing herself.
From that moment on, Kira spent most of her time either in the infirmary, learning about human illnesses and aliments, or out in the fields and woods surrounding the Dalmaska castle, learning to heal pokemon. The young Eevee morph enjoyed her lesson’s greatly, always having a sense of accomplishment when ever she healed someone.
While most children in that world go on a journey when they turn 12, after their magic has settled some, Kira chose to remain within the safety of the Dalmaska castle, knowing that there were those outside who would abuse her healers Gift. Kira took to studying weaponry, so that she would be able to protect herself when the time came for her to start her journey. She developed a talent for swordplay as well as for archery.
It turns out her decision to stay within the Dalmaska was a very good one, for barely two years later, when Kira was 14, her secondary gift manifested. It was good thing, because her secondary gift was for battle magic, and it manifested itself by blowing a large crater in one of the courtyards and leaving Kira unconscious.
Once more the Dalmaska elders met, this time to decide who would train the young girl in her newest Gift. There was a reason Battle Mages were so rare. If they didn’t start training with their Gift within a month of manifesting it, the magic’s need to get out would eventually consume them, destroying a large part of where ever they were at the time the magic overload killed them. There were parts of the world where no life would ever grow again because a child’s Gift for Battle Magic had not been recognized in time.
It was quickly decided that Elder Ciran would be the one to train Kira in her newest gift, for he had manifested Battle Magic as his Secondary Gift at about the same age. When Kira awoke form the week long Coma her new Gift had put her in, Ciran was sitting by her bed side. Training began immediately.
The next two years were tough ones, as Kira had a great deal of difficultly reconciling her Healing Gift and her Battle Magic Gift. She also had to learn to control her emotions, as her battle magic had a tendency to set things on fire when she got upset. Once she had enough control over her powers however she could allow her emotions free rein once more. When she was fifteen, a training session involving being dropped from a great height failed when Kira evolved into an Aveon before she could use her magic to slow her decent like she was supposed to.
One the day she turned sixteen, she was declared to have complete control of her battle magic. Since she was now in no danger of burning her self out or accidentally killing someone, and without a Tertiary gift to begin training in, Kira and Jai decided it was time for them to start their pokemon journey. After some long discussions, they decided that the life of a Pokemon Ranger was the one they wanted. It was a role that would allow them to use both of Kira’s gifts to help others.
Because the Dalmaska Estate was on the other side of the country to Ranger headquarters and to the pokemon lab that would give Kira her first pokemon, As Clan member with a gift for Travel magic was called in to teleport her to the lab. However on the day that she was due to start her journey, things went terribly, terribly wrong. Just as the teleport spell was finished, a huge storm appeared out of no where, called by a young child manifesting a weather magic gift. The magical power in the storm interfered with the magics of the teleport spell. There was no way to stop the spell once it had been cast, and so the Dalmaska could only watch in horror as a huge bolt of lighting came down and stuck Kira right as the teleport went off.
Career: Ranger and Part time Trainer
Gifts:
Primary – Healing
Secondary – Battle Magic
Tertiary – Yet to Manifest
The Daemon
Name:Jai
Form (If settled): Not Settled
Favourite Form/s (If not settled): Eevee and its evolutions + Absol
Appearance: Being a Pokemorph’s daemon, Jai has yet to settle, and it is doubtful that he ever will. In terms of forms, Jai is limited to those of Eevee and its evolutions, as a result of his human being an Aveon Morph. However in a strange twist he can also take on an Absol form. It is believed that this is because Kira’s heritage is not pure eevee, for her father was an absol morph.
There are two main things which can be used to distinguish Jai from a regular pokemon of which ever species he happens to be at the time. The first and most obvious difference are his eyes. Jai’s eyes are always a brilliant green in colour, an exact match in shade to those of Kira.
The next difference is in size. Unless he’s standing next to a normal pokemon it’s not so obvious, but Jai is always slightly larger than is normal for which ever species form he is taking.
Personality: Jai is in many ways Kira’s opposite. He’s quite protective of Kira, since when she was younger she risked burn out several times while healing. He’s the type who always has good intentions, but often goes about showing them the wrong way. Like Kira he hates to see another thinking feeling creature, be it human or Pokemon, being deliberately hurt.
