Just out of curiosity, since it's Christmas and everything, what's your favourite part of Christmas? And no this isn't about all the sentimentality and sweetness, if you love the presents the best say so! My personal favourite part of Christmas is the dinner, I can never get enough of it! I love it so much!!!

I think the biggest part for me has always been the get together. When I was little we lived in a small country town about 8 hours drive from the state's capital where the rest of my family lived. So we only really saw them on christmas and easter, or when someone got sick and had to go to the children's hospital, cause the only dedicated children's hospital was there. I've only got my mum's side of the family, My dad's mum passed away when he was 18, and his father when I was about 18 months. We don't see his sister and her family much, because they've always lived on the other side of the country, and for the past two and a bit years they've been in england. We moved to the capital our selves when I was 11, but the get together and seeing all of the family is still the biggest thing for me.
I moved out last year, so the last christmas, and now this one, are big things, because I'm not seeing as much of any of my family. Presents are nice, but not the biggest part of christmas... Maybe second place I think.
EDIT: Damned spelling mistakes.

For me, it's all about the presents. But I do like a lot of things... I love giving to my guinea pigs. It's pretty hilarious to see two fat cuties puzzle about some strange forien object before eating it regardless of what it actually is. I don't tend to get excited about the dinner. I like pretty much everything... hanging up the stockings, watching specials on TV, but I do love the presents best of all. There's nothing better than tearing at paper and hearing a lovely rip-rip-rip as it reveals something totally cool. I like seeing the family as well, but our family is pretty much spread out over the whole country. And several other countries. And on my mum's side, we have a pretty confusing family tree; some of my cousins are older than my mum, and their children are older than me. And some of them I've never met.
Overall, I love just about everything about Christmas! What I hate is my dad teasing us about going on walks and not opening any presents, but now me and my brother are older we can think of good comebacks. I don't like it sometimes when my mum tries so hard to make everything perfect that she gets all stressed... but, anyway. I love it. Christmas is tomorrow, and I can't wait! If you're a scrooge, then think of this; if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

I love getting together with the family too. But this year is a bit of chaos. Usually my relatively small family came over our house for Christmas Dinner and played games with us all like Scene It and Pictionary and what not. We all live relatively close too - all in Essex/Kent. But three years ago my dad's brother got married and two years ago my mum's brother got married and last year they both had children. And then my parents split early this year. So basically my family's in a bit of wreck or sticky situation. My dad's brother is inviting his half (aka my paternal grandparents) over to their house. My mum's brother is inviting his wife's half og the family round. So this year it's just me, my sisters, my mum and my mum's nan. Which is nice. Just us girlies at Christmas this year! Don't forget to remember the hundreds of thousands that died on boxing day in 2004 on saturday guys! Just reminding everyone. I don't personally know anyone that died in that. But my mum's friend did and apparently our accountant... I'm not sure I was 10. When you're ten you're not too bothered about that kind of stuff, but now I'm remembering and honouring everyone that died that night. It's the same as the millenium. I was 6. I slept right through it, I just thought it was some fancy fireworks. But that kind of event only comes around every 1000 years! And it's the second one! Silly six year old me....
