Pip felt a wave of excitement flush through him as the nice Alexander-trainer called him by his name. He wished Jim would do it! It was so cool, it made him feel like he was equal to humans. By Alexander's reckonings, he imagined, he probably was equal to everyone here. How awesome. Plus, his attack had worked! Hopefull Jim would be seeing how well he was doing on his own. The Scratch hurt, but he knew what was coming from the Screech by the way Thistle's mouth opened like earlier, so he clamped his stubby paws over his ears. His Defense was still lowered, but not by quite so much.
Jim was astonished. Defeating Spoink had been almost too easy, so how come Pip was managing fine? He had come up with a tactic! No, wait, Jim could see what he'd done. The idiot must've seen Sneasel in front of him, not realised she was on him, and tried to Tackle her. Pft, yeah. Jim relaxed. Mudkip was still a dumb animal. He hadn't even thought up a good name for himself, not that Jim would ever sink so low he'd use it. "Mudkip, Tackle!" he called.
Pip growled gently at those words. Urgh, how Jim's voice annoyed him. He couldn't use a Tackle, of course. But Mud-Slap wouldn't be too handy, either. He needed to defeat Thistle, and he also needed to show Jim that he could manage fine without him. Urgh, urgh! How frustrating! He whimpered, such determination blazing away in his heart but going to waste. He- then suddenly, something clicked inside him. His form flashed briefly; the sign of a level gained. The Water type smiled, and, without thinking, attacked, releasing that power. A thick, strong jet of water shot from his mouth. A Water Gun. It seemed that Pip had just learned a new move all by himself.

It was still apparent that Jim still had not seen what Pip was capable of. It was apparent that Jim would probably never see Pip as being anything more than a tool, and this would have been enough to anger any Pokemon to the point of fleeing or rebelling against their trainer. However, Pip chose instead to try to prove himself to his trainer, instead of running away. This determination was great, but not very pleasant or fast working.
Then, when things seemed to be lost for Pip in moves, he leveled up in the heat of the battle. Thistle was not sure how to react, she had never fought a water-type before. When Pip sent out a water gun, Alexander quickly called out, "Thistle, dodge it!" Thistle quickly did so, but she felt the water whiz past her. The water gun was a lot faster then the tackle was. She had not expected that. "Follow it up with Bite!" Landing from her dodge, Thistle charged toward Pip, ready to use bite once more.
Masquerade had been watching the battle as it progressed and watched as Thistle seemed to grow more and more weaker, slowly the battle was eating away at her and if water gun or tackle hit her, she may be in the need of some help. Alexander refused to see this, he believed that Thistle could continue on just some time longer, at least long enough to defeat Pip, and hence Jim.

Pip growled as Thistle dodged his attack. He was annoyed that she could dodge his attacks. Jim always said that Pokémon which dodged on every turn were wimps. Pip didn't quite think so, but they were annoying. The Mudkip wished he were fast enough to dodge moves, but Mudkip were too chunky a build to be able to move all that fast. He attempted to dodge, but Thistle's teeth still could him. She didn't hit where she was aiming for, thanks to the 'dodge', so it didn't hurt as much, to Pip's delight.
Very surprised at the Water Gun but not showing it, Jim watched the battle unfold more. Mudkip seemed determined not to obey, but Jim was having none of it. He would get Mudkip to obey, whatever it took. Yelling, threats, that would probably get any dumb Pokémon ready to do as he wanted. He'd take it seriously. Then again, so might Jim. He smiled cruelly. "Mudkip, you moron! Listen to me or you'll wish you've never been born! MUDKIP, HELLO! ANSWER ME!" he yelled.
Pip shivered at these words, but he still wasn't going to obey Jim. He wasn't the Pokémon who'd beat up poor Spoink, but he knew that the Pokémon who had was loyal, and hadn't had the will to protest. Well, Pip could. He didn't want to end up doing something bad, after all. He stuck his toungue out at Jim, watching the livid expression explode onto his face as he turned around and used a Water Gun directly at Thistle, with no warning, to try and get her off him.

Thistle felt accomplished that she was able to hit Pip fairly easily. However, she was loosing her concentration on the battle, even though her determination was still there. She would have loved to simply sit and carve doodles into the ground, or the trees. So, that being said she wasn't paying to much attention to what went on around her.
The threat that Jim gave Pip was abusive in itself, and Thistle's attention was caught when she saw Pip shiver out of fear of Jim keeping his word. Thistle doubted that Jim would keep this threat, but that didn't mean that Pip was about to give up. In fact, Pip had unleashed another Water Gun, and because Thistle was in a much closer range, she had a slower reaction space. If she had been concentrating on the battle, maybe she would have been able to dodge or at least block the attack. "Thistle, dodge!" The words hardly were shouted when the water gun hit Thistle and pushed her back a little bit, her claws digging into the earth. She panted a little, but stood, ready to pay attention again.
"Hang in there, Thistle, don't you go down! Now, use Screech and follow it up with Scratch-and keep your distance this time!" Thistle unleashed Screech, before charging forward ready to use scratch. If the scratch hit, she would keep light on her feet and do her best to be prepared and far enough away from Pip so that she would not get sprayed by the Water Gun again so easily.

Pip was prepared for the Screech, covering his ears firmly so that his Defense was not lowered by quite so much. The Piplup did feel his Defense lower; it was practically inevitable with Screech. He uttered a Growl to even out the gap in the stats. The penguin wove away from Thistle swiftly, but ended up getting caught by the Scratch. He whined in pain as the breath was knocked from him, knowing he did not have much battle left for him to fight before he fainted. Then he'd be in for whatever Jim had in store for him- oh, no.
Speaking of Jim, he was yelling an order. Pip didn't listen, merely stuck his little pink toungue out at him. Jim grew angrier at this, and began to fumble with his belt. Pip went white with fear. Oh, no, please no! Jim took his belt off, and lasooed it cruelly over his head, before lashing out, whipping Pip with such a force that the poor Pokémon screeched in agony and was thrown into the air, landing on the hard ground.
Pip whimpered miserably as he got up shakily. Jim was standing, smiling. "Let that be a lesson to you. Obey!" he roared. Pip cowered under the words, the poor little thing. He looked with pleasing eyes at Thistle, then Alex, wondering what was to happen. Jim's daemon translated for him when he summed up the courage to finally speak his mind. ~No. Why should I follow such a heartless man? You treat Pokémon like they're mindless, beat them, force them to do things against their will which will haunt them for the rest of their life, then expect complete loyalty?! No way, man. They're gonna rebel some time. And now is that time.~ Pip said, not too much fear shaking his voice.

(OOC:I thought Pip was a Mudkip..did you change it so the name fit better or is that just a typo?)
IC:
Thistle was angered at the fact that Pip had learned how to lower the effect that her Screech had on him. However, Thistle herself could not cover her ears, mainly because her claws were too sharp for her to do so without harming herself. She felt her power grow weaker with the growl, and she felt that she was indeed growing even weaker as the battle went on. Alexander kept pushing her, telling her to stand up and stay up. Alexander meant no harm, but that didn't mean it wasn't hard.
Thistle's ears flicked when she heard the belt move, and she lifted her head to see Jim pull out the belt bad begin to lasso it around Pip. "~What!? What are you doing!~" Thistle's yellow eyes narrowed in a fearful anger, she glanced at her claws, if she had reacted faster or was closer she may have cut the belt. However in moments it was over and Jim let Pip fall. Needless to say, Thistle was in horror. However, Alexander was affected much worse than that. Masquerade let him lean against her. She knew such a thing would occur, Alexander could never withstand seeing others in pain. He hated seeing it, and couldn't watch it.
Thistle felt this change in her trainer, and she became afraid. If her trainer was so beaten by this, what about her? What about Pip? Would Jim try to to go after her next? Her ears flicked again when Pip made a speech saying that he was leaving Jim. "Thistle.." Alexander called out weakly, "defend Pip from further harm." Thistle looked back at Alexander, who was slowly coming out of his swoon. She then charged forward and stood next to Pip, her claws out and in front of Pip, shielding him from any further harm. "~Don't you dare touch him.~" Thistle's yellow eyes narrowed, she was prepared for anything that Jim would do, even in her weakened state.

ooc// Typo.
ic// Pip looked at Thistle. She was... helping him? Wow... no-one had ever done that before. This trainer wanted to protect him from pain, rather than not caring. He imagined Jim wouldn't have cared if the Mudkip died. To Jim, it would just be something that needed replacing. The crack from when Jim had whipped Pip had been loud, and even the wild Farfetch'd and Spoink winced; they'd been watching the battle, interested at the play of emotions going on.
Jim growled. He couldn't understand this behavoir. Why was Mudkip not fighting? Why was the Sneasel protecting him? Urgh, the Water type had talked a lot about how he was bad and his Pokémon were rebelling and always had been bound to that fate. Pfft, it wasn't as if the Pokémon would be smart enough to know how, or have the feelings to find reason to do this in the first place. He was frozen, not moving, watching. Then Pip used a Water Gun on him.
"That's it!" Jim growled madly, grabbing a Pokéball and releasing the Pokémon inside. "This is what beat Spoink, and now it's gonna beat you!" he all but screamed, releasing a Rhyhorn. The Rhyhorn was definately too strong to try and fight, judging by the way Spoink shuddered in fear and it moved with earth-shaking strides towards them. Thistle and Alexander would have to think of another way to do this.

((OOC: Thistle reminds me of like, Dora in this. 'I need your help! Shout something!' Haha))
When the Rhyhorn was released, Thistle grounded her teeth, it was easy to see that even being at a type disadvantage, Thistle's attack would not be able to do anything. She did not back away however, she still stood in front of Pip, even though one could see that there was straight fear in her eyes. How was she to handle this? How was Alexander?
"Thistle, get back! You can't attack it without getting hurt, get Pip out of the way as well." Thistle began to step back, not trusting the Rhyhorn or Jim as she bet the moment her back was turned, the Rhyhorn would strike. She only glanced at Pip, "~You may not be able to trust Alexander, but can you trust me?~" Thistle then kept her eyes locked on the Rhyhorn. She called back to Alexander. "~What am I going to do then?~" Alexander wasn't very sure himself. He looked over as Masquerade, who seemed to be watching the battle and gave him no support (besides translating), not even a glimmer in her eyes.
"Thistle, try to reason with it! Try to convince it not to attack you!" Thistle nodded, but was still very unsure. She wasn't even sure if the Rhyhorn could hear her through its plating, let alone listen. "~Pip, I'll need your help in order to do this.~" Thistle then spoke loudly, almost as high as Jim had done, at the Rhyhorn. "~Rhyhorn! Can you hear me? I need you to listen! Don't attack us! We-~" Thistle found herself shaking with fear. She had to shake it off, but it was hard when she knew that the Rhyhorn may not be able to understand, "~we don't mean you any harm!~" Masquerade began to translate everything that Thistle said to the Rhyhorn. However, she rubbed her wings together, creating the rusted sound, which seemed to be a sigh-as if she doubted the plan would work.

ooc// Who's Dora? Oh, and by the way, Pokémon can understand other Pokémon, so they don't need translators.
ic// Rhyhorn raised an eyebrow at Thistle's shout of 'can you hear me?' The answer to that was pretty obvious. He was standing pretty much next to her, and she was shouting at the top of her voice. Of course he could hear her. He had ears, didn't he? He snorted, taking this as a bit of an insult. His eyes narrowed, and he pawed the earth, a low, soft growl sounding from deep within his throat. He didn't like this Sneasel, not at all.
Jim didn't like the Sneasel, either. Kat, his own daemon, had translated her words. Pft, how pathetic. Pokémon always meant harm. Especially the strangers. And so far, Sneasel had proved herself to be an annoyance. He was starting, also, to have doubts as to whether Pokémon were dumb. Sneasel sounded like she had feeling, caring for Mudkip and Alexander. Loyalty, gained- how? He'd have to find out. Perhaps. His Pokémon seemed pretty loyal until now; when Mudkip had had enough. Hm... "Rhyhorn, get them." he said casually.
Rhyhorn smiled, grunting. Good, this was his favourite bit. Where he beat the weenies. He began to charge, when Pip stood in front of him, little forepaws spread out. ~Stop it, Rhyhorn! Or... well, you should name yourself, like me and Thistle here. Names are really cool. But Jim won't let us have them. See, Rhyhorn, it's not us you want to beat. It's Jim. Remember, we're comrades. Remember all the times we've fought alongside each other? and now Jim's being so mean as to tear our relationship apart.~ he spoke as evenly as he good, looking to Thistle. It was her turn to point out a load of bad things about Jim, and how Alexander treated her; showing Rhyhorn what trainers could be like.

((OOC: Dora The Explorer. Its a little kid show that has this girl try to teach kids Spanish-but fails.))
Thistle saw that she had done more harm then good, speaking to the Rhyhorn. She wasn't sure how to get through to a Pokemon that seemed to want to follow Jim's orders, if for no other reason then to just show his own strength. When the Rhyhorn charged, Thistle fought the instinct to run. She was afraid, and fear shown in her eyes. However, she calmed when Pip bravely stepped forward and gave his speech. She became calmer, and then decided to try and speak again.
"~You may not have seen Jim's dark-side yet, Rhyhorn, but it exists. Do you really want to harm your own comrade? No trainer would make their own Pokemon attack each other in such a way. A good trainer knows when he is beaten, and Jim isn't one of those trainers. He is simply a coward who won't respect you. Look at my trainer! He not only wishes to keep me safe, but also wishes to keep Pip safe! Would Jim do that?~"
Masquerade began to translate for Alexander, who simply stayed silent, unable to say or do anything to help them. Masquerade also noted something extra, "I believe something is getting through to Jim." At least that was something. Maybe it would be easier to have Jim realize that something was wrong with what he was doing if enough of his Pokemon rebelled against him.

ooc// Ah, I used to watch that. Dora and Boots, right? She has the most annoying voice EVER.
ic// Rhyhorn gave an odd sort of whine. That was true, he knew it was, but he didn't want to go against Jim! Jim was good, a smart, strong trainer! He didn't want to go against Jim, but just as much, he didn't want to go against Pip, either! Oh, man, this was a hard choice. Pip, sensing this, spoke. ~Rhyhorn, you don't have to choose! You can have us both! We just need to convince Jim to treat us like his equals!~
Rhyhorn nodded. That seemed right, but he didn't think that would work. Jim already treated them fairly, so it would be wrong to ask more of him. He snorted, pawing the earth and retreating a little. Jim whipped the Pokémon as hard as he could with the belt on an exposed point between his armour plates. The rhino roared. So did Jim. "Come on, beat Mudkip up already!" he screeched, and at that moment, Rhyhorn could see his dark side.
Jim had whipped him, pushed him to defeat his friend against his will. That was not allowed. With a tremendous shout, he turned to face Jim, and knocked him to the ground, pinning him there with light pressure from his forepaws. Jim was shocked. "Rhyhorn, my loyal..." he stammered. ~How can I be loyal when you whip me? When you force me to do something I would never do? You are a monster, Jim. You're the one who doesn't deserve a name.~ he growled. Jim looked fearfully to Alexander- the owner of loyal Pokémon. His method had crashed, so he supposed he would have to resort to Alex's method of getting Pokémon to obey. "Alexander, how should I get my Pokémon to be loyal again?" he couldn't believe those words had slipped through his lips.

((OOC: Yep them. She did, though I have to say I will always love the fox, Swiper.))
Thistle watched as the words began to get through to the Rhyhorn. How at first Rhyhorn did not seem to believe them, that even though he wanted to believe them he could not turn against Jim who had always treated him well. At least for now. Thistle wasn't really sure what to do, but saw as the Rhyhorn retreated instead of attacking that he would see how exactly Jim was.
The belt whipped the Rhyhorn, and it made the Rhyhorn realize exactly who Jim was. The Rhyhorn probably could have killed Jim if it really wanted too, but Thistle knew that the Rhyhorn wouldn't-Jim was still his trainer, abusive or not-and there was a bond there, no matter how small or weak. It rather surprised Thistle to hear Jim call out for Alexander's help.
Alexander was just as surprised, and he began to walk closer to the Rhyhorn, but stopped a few feet before he reached Thistle and Pip, close enough so that Jim could hear him better, but far enough away so that he himself would not be harmed. "First off, I don't whip my Pokemon for not following my directions. Secondly, I treat my Pokemon fairly, like they were human beings with human emotions, likes and dislikes. And Lastly, I give them names." His words were sharp at some points, his voice was still as cold as it always was, still as worn. It was easy to mistake Alexander for being older then he was, simply because of the mental stress he had been through. "If you promise to treat your Pokemon like they are just as human as yourself, then they will listen."

Jim was surprised to hear this, and more surprised to hear Pip and Rhyhorn's murmurs of agreement. Treat his Pokémon like humans? But why? They weren't anywhere near as intelligent and didn't share the same emotions! The names, on the other hand, he could deal with. That wasn't so bad, he supposed. He'd just have to get used to this. Perhaps if his Pokémon proved they were like humans, he would treat them like it. The whipping, too, he felt might stop... most of the time.
"O... K... maybe. Mud- I mean, Pip. And Rhy- or, maybe, Aggra." Rhyhorn smiled, pleased, as did Pip. "I'm sorry." Jim said. The newly named Aggra grunted, cocked his head to one side thoughtfully and released his trainer. Jim sighed in relief, getting shakily to his feet. Aggra allowed him to lean on his side for support while he panted. Jim then fixed the belt around his waist. "From now on, this belt stays around my waist." he said with a half-real smile.
Aggra and Pip both cheered at that. Jim's smile became a wide grin. This really worked. "And... if you have a problem, just talk to me. I'll sort it out rather than hurting you. So, what do you say? Will you stay with me?" he asked. Aggra nodded, but Pip didn't look so sure. ~I don't know... I think I want to stay with Alexander. Is that all right with you?~ he asked. Jim winced, but nodded. They then looked at Alexander.

Alexander was glad to see that Jim had, at least for the most part made up for what he had done to his Pokemon. Alexander only hoped that Jim would not forget this, as the newly named Aggra may very well not trust him if he was mistreated again. Thistle also seemed delighted, the fear had vanished from her eyes, and she now sat, leaning on Alexander's leg, carefully sharpening her claws.
When Pip then decided to leave Jim and join Alexander, Thistle's ears perked up. She looked up at Alexander and paused in sharpening her claws. She rather liked Pip, much more than she had like Brutus, at least. Alexander was somewhat surprised by Pip's request and Masquerade showed a small trace of a beak-like smile. Alexander then nodded, "Alright Pip, I think Thistle and I would like that very much." Thistle smiled for a moment, and commented, "~And I'm sure the others will too.~" She then continued to sharpen her claws as if nothing had occurred, in complete silence.
Alexander then remembered the Spoink and the Farfetch'd. That was what had caused this mess, the Spoink still needed help, and Alexander realized he still needed to help it. "What about the Spoink?" Alexander seemed to be asking Thistle and Masquerade, and Masquerade looked over at Jim, and spoke aloud, something she hated doing in the presence of others. "I believe Jim should be in charge of healing the Spoink and Farfetch'd, if it weren't for him we wouldn't have battled in the first place." Alexander nodded, and turned to Jim, "Well then? Spoink should still have one of my Potions near it, you could probably help it with that."

Pip grinned his wide grin, rushing over to Jim. His old trainer reluctantly disowned him from his old Pokéball, and the Mudkip touched his forehead to one of Alexander's empty Pokéballs. He remained as still as he could inside it, and was caught to his new trainer in a flash. Pip the Mudkip now belonged to Alexander rather than Jim. Jim was about to return Aggra to his Pokéball, but thought he might enjoy being outside more.
The trainer then nodded, bending down next to Spoink. "Man, I'm sorry. I didn't realise that you Pokémon actually had feelings like us... I guess I was kinda mean. I'll help you, 'K?" he told Farfetch'd, who still looked pretty angry at him once he'd said that. Using the Potion on the little pig, she slowly aroused... and hit Jim very hard, sending him sprawling backwards.
