Natu was smiling inside, although as with most Natu its face remained emotionless. The attack had clearly been nicely effective, and it seemed that Salch wasn't fully recovered even by the time he moved to attack. Perfect. The bird was pleased with itself, and couldn't possibly see how it could loose. In fact, the usually exptremely observant Pokémon wasn't paying attention, and ended up being struck by the Absorb. This attack made a critical hit, the bird twittering in pain.
A fair amount more health returned to Salch than last time, and Natu was not very pleased by this. It knew it should probably use another Peck, but didn't want to do that. Instead, it wanted to shock Salch. Due to this, it used an Astonish attack.

The Pokemon's eyes widened and he staggered back, trying to evade the attack that the Natu aimed at him. Lilly bit her lip softly "Salch, return.." She called out, but being the stubborn Pokemon he was he didn't listen. His eyes narrowed as he tried to bore holes into the bird Pokemon. Silas fluttered nervously, hoping that she wouldn't get angry as her command went ignored.
She grinned though, liking the slight stubborn streak. In her thoughts it was better than a Pokemon that came back instantly, crying from the pain. Although she hoped that Salch knew when he had to stop ignoring her and had to return, liking it or not. She licked her lips lightly "Use Poison Sting!" She yelled, hoping to poison the Natu and weaken it more rapidly.
[OoC: Oh.. I just remembered Birdy, and it's just a question. What're you going to do with the Dialga I 'received' in the Legendary giveaway?]

ooc// It's just there, in your party/PC. I don't have time to go back and look at your post, but if you posted about your character catching the legendary, that's the story behind it if you want. If you really want to, like AlphaSuicune, you can meet it somewhere else.
ic// Natu flew upwards, trying to avoid the Poison Sting. Unfortunately, this had been poorly judged, for Natu was slower when it first flew upwards. The attack struck painfully on its feet, where there were no feathers to offer even the slightest protection. Making a high sound of pain, the bird felt a little ill. Some health was knocked out of it as though it had been struck; Natu was Poisoned.
The bird was furious. That did it! It simply dove to Salch from the tree, aiming a Peck right at him. Natu's attack would be powerful. However, since it wasn't really flying as aposed to falling, it would be difficult for it to change its course if Salch moved out the way.

[OoC: I still have to 'catch' it, seeing that my post wasn't focused on catching Dialga... but I can cheat a bit and just post it in my PC *shifty eyes*]
Salch looked far too smugly, so didn't really notice the peck attack until the last moment. He tried to move out of the way, but instead spun and saw the beak come closer. He closed his eyes as the attack hit him.
Lilly winced softly as she saw the attack hit, seemingly feeling it herself. She moved her hands lightly, as if wanting to pull something out. She restrained however and looked closer as if trying to see if Salch was still able to fight or not.
She then drew the pokeball anyway and withdrew Salch "Lith, your turn." She spoke lightly, the pink kitten jumped forward, exited. She looked at the Natu again "Tackle, Lith." The Skitty did so, rushing forward, head lowering as he tried to hit.

ooc// That wouldn't be cheating; you've earned it fair and square. But, if you insist, how about after this battle?
ic// Natu wondered why the trainer withdrew her Pokémon after just three hits. Why? Salch still wasn't near to fainting, was he? It did not understand. Maybe Salch had been in a battle beforehand, or perhaps he was really weak or something. Maybe she wanted him to still gain experience. Either way, the switch elavated its spirits. The bird grinned cheerfully, fluttering its wings. It hadn't expected Lith to attack straight away, and as a result of being confident it this, it was hit by the hard Tackle attack. It was weakening, but it still had a couple of attacks left in it.
A low hiss escaped its throat as Natu thought, annoyed, about types. Lith, as a Skitty, was a Normal type. Ghost type moves such as Astonish were not effective at all on Normal types, and the Flying type Peck attack would no longer have a type advantage to boost the weak attack. The Pokémon continued none the less, using the only offensive move it could use; Peck.

[OoC: I see no problems with this. ^^,]
Lith felt a headache start as the hard beak of the bird continued to land on his head, to say that it was rather uncomfortable. He tried to open one eye so that he could locate it; before slapping the Natu away. He heard Lilly's command of using a growl and did so, crouching lightly as he awaited her next order.
She did so, another tackle. The pink kitten rushed forward, more confident as the bird seemed slower than him.

Natu felt the Growl attack. A simple attack based on sound, the point of which being to lower Natu's Attack stat so that its attacks would hurt less. A good strategy; it meant that Lith didn't have to constantly worry about being hit too much. OK, he did, but not quite as much so. He would last longer in the battle. Natu thought briefly about using a stat changing move in return, but didn't see much point in it as Lith could easily put it at a disadvantage again. The bird was paying attention, and managed to dodge the Tackle.
Natu grinned as best it could with its beak. It had dodged a move from the Skitty, hooray! The bird fluttered a little higher, before taking aim and plummeting, beak glowing. This was another Peck, of course, but it would not be as painful as the last attacks.

Lith saw it once more aiming for him. His eyes widened lightly and instead of walking backward or something alike he crouched, trying to make himself smaller. His eyes kept looking at the Natu however, trying to find a good moment to jump up and take it down with another tackle. Lilly bit once more her lower-lip as she kicked the ground before her lightly, Silas himself was just watching them, perfectly still.
Lilly finally made a decision "Aim another growl, Lith!" She yelled, the pink pokemon let his attention fall for a second to nod; before focusing back on the Natu, still seeing it come closer. He breathed in, trying to gather enough air for said growl.

Natu could see that there was no escape for Lith. Yes! It had him now! The bird kept going. It heard the horrible growling, but it kept going. It knew what Growl was, and the feel of its Attack stat slipping away was proof to back up the knowledge. The bird knew that its atacks would not hurt quite so much, yet still it continued with its Peck attack. It sure was stubborn, no?
Natu did know that there wasn't much left until it went down. One, maybe two, attacks from Lith, and it would be fainted. That added to the weakened Attack stat didn't help its chances. Well, better go out with style, fighting to the end- Natu was nearly striking Lith with that weak Peck.

Lith finally decided to pounce on the Natu straight on. His paws outstretching, if Lith where human it would have looked as if he was running to hug someone. He would get some damage, but it wouldn't be like the damage He would deal, hopefully. A thin smile would have formed on his features if they where made for it.
As the Skitty landed he didn't pause, just rushed to the Natu again, not looking where he went as he ran and ran, it wouldn't have come as a big surprise if he was running in circles.

Natu moved away, little round form bobbing in the air. It watched Lith racing about, as expected in a circle. Just running, running in a circle over and over. What an odd thing to be doing. Was the Skitty out of his mind? And why hadn't the trainer but a stop to this crazy behavoir? For that matter, why hadn't the trainer spoken at all this turn? Trainers usually did that, right? Natu was fairly sure. Well, if Lith was going to run so predictably, Natu would take advantage of the fact. The bird swooped down, hoping to attack.
What actually happened was that Lith, as he had decided briefly at the start of his turn, pounced on Natu. Springing unexpectedly from his run as he had first in the pounce which had missed, he struck Natu right on target, sending the Pokémon plummeting. It didn't get up, it didn't even twitch.
Natu was defeated! Salch and Lith gain one level each!

(*hums victory march of a game* And we forgot the Pichu.. poor thing.) Lilly just kept staring for a moment, seeming shocked at what the pink Pokemon had done. She finally felt a smile spread over her lips and she crossed the gap between quick enough and scooped him up, managing to be careful of the Pichu still gathered in her arms "You've done great Lith!" She whispered, closing her eyes and holding him closer to her. She breathed out and relaxed her grip, just keeping the silly grin around her lips. She let Lith hop onto her shoulder, the Daemon following moments later, landing on the opposite shoulder. She looked at the three of them, before looking at the fallen Natu, she raised an eyebrow. She could catch it and with it being a psychic and flying Pokemon, taking a pokeball out of the small pouch on her hip, she threw it.

Natu remained out as Lilly threw the Pokéball at it. The resulting red light from the capture device absorbed the bird inside, the Pokéball dropping to the ground afterwards and beginning to shake madly. It seemed that perhaps, after all, Natu was still too strong to be caught. Perhaps a more powerful attack would have ensured this capture?
Oh, wait! Talk of what would have changed things were stopped as the Pokéball came to a standstill, pinging to announce the capture. Fantastic! Natu had been caught after all! The Pokéball lay there, waiting for Lilly to pick it up and gain a new team member.
Natu was caught!

[OoC: Whoohoo! Now to get Lilly actually do it...]
A thin smile curled her lips, the only thing she managed; it had felt that she had smiled far too much now and the muscles where getting a bit cramped. She walked lightly to the Pokeball and picked it up, a curious gaze on her face as she pondered what nickname she could give the Natu, well first things first. She had to let them all rest first before she continued, so she had time enough of thinking for a nickname.
She looked at the Skitty for a moment, before withdrawing him into his Pokeball as well. She placed them both on her belt and looked around; deciding which way to go. She paused, before turning lightly and walking in a total random direction, it could be that she was walking back to Route One, or maybe to the next town. She wouldn't mind either.

The Pichu in her arms squirmed. It knew these parts, and could tell that Lilly was headed deeper into the route- away from the path, Route One or the next town. It was pretty certain that trainers would get lost; even the Pokémon would, for it knew that the weaker Pokémon stayed nearer the path. It wondered if Lilly knew that the Pokémon here would be that strong. Well, maybe Lilly liked surprises. Or challenges.
Pichu had barely run this through its head when it was proved correct. A long, low growl reverberated through the area, coming from some unknown source. It wasn't a very pleasant sound, sounding as if someone was rubbing the most ghastly, unfriendly sandpaper in the world against something. Would Lilly investigate? Or would she ignore it?
