Mother, Father, how are you today?
I have finally reached Enera region after the long travel with train.
I'm now heading to Pine Village. It's not too far from the dock.
Me and Shion are doing fine.
I hope you both do the same too.

+What are you doing?+ The silver feathered Pidgey flew around and roosted on her shoulder as he watched her writing on her journal. "It's a letter." She said to her Daemon. The Silver Pidgey tilted his head to the side. Telling her that he didn't understand. She chuckled slightly before putting the notebook back to her bag. She checked on her belongings before she stood and walked out from the restaurant where she were.

She was on a small restaurant in the dock. A fish market. Although she had a lot of difficulty ordering her food, she finally managed to, and ate the food carefully not to spill anything. She had fish and chips with lemon tea. Wasn't much, but it's enough for half a day. It was delicious. She had been there for an hour now. The sky was really blue, and the sun shined really bright. She looked up from the restaurant's mirror before she walked away.

+I don't understand. Why did you write that letter while you didn't send it?+ The bird asked. Again, she smiled at him and proceed without answering his question. Now she had a sad face. The bird knew what she wanted now. She was writing a letter, but was too shy to send them. She's been writing those letters since she departed for her journey.

"I don't want them to worry me..." She said to the bird with a slight pink blush on her cheeks. The bird nodded. Showing that he understood the girl. He flapped his wings and patted the girl's head with his small wings. +I understand, girl. I do.+ He said as he purred to her ears. He knew that she was really ticklish at that spot. She giggled as she smiled again.

"Thank you, Shion." She said as she walked to Pine Village. It wasn't a long walk, actually. Only took her half an hour from the dock. By the time they arrived there, she was really exhausted. The sun was hotter than what she thought it would. She panted and reached the Pine laboratory with a lot of effort. Her face was really red, and she was sweating a lot. The bird helped by flapping his small wings to her. +Hang on, Shine.+ He said.

She entered the building through the automatic glass door. She was sure that this was the Pokemon lab. According to the map she saw on the restaurant back then. This was supposed to be the Pine labs. She did followed the map, though. "E-excuse me... I'm Shine Autumn. A new trainer." She said with a really low voice. Maybe no one heard her. But she can't bring herself to speak louder.

And with that, she finally reached the first step.

[Birdybot]

Professor Pine was near to the entrance, and frowned to his Noctowl daemon, Telepa. "Really, has anyone heard of knocking?" he muttered in an annoyed tone as he rushed into the first room of the labs; the only one new trainers ever saw. Telepa, who flew alongside him, didn't seem to care. He often complained at how people occasionaly barged in without knocking, and Telepa often looked like she didn't care.

As Pine came into the room through one of the doors, he put his usual smile on his face despite the fact that he was having a pretty stressfull day thanks to a project that wasn't quite working out. The room didn't exactly look too modern, since the Professor preferred to spend his money on scientific equipment rather than doing up the buildings. The carpet and wallpaper were basic. There was a desk, a few old sofas, a coffee table, a few pictures and a number of vast filing cabinets.

Pine welcomed Shine, shutting the aged oak door behind her. He really oughta replacing it with something else. Turning to the girl, he remained smiling. "Hello, my name is Professor Pine. This is my daemon, Telepa. Well, let's get right to the point, shall we? Do you have a Pokémon in mind for your starter?" he asked. He seemed friendly, if a little eccentric.

Shine had always been scared with new environments. However, as soon as she stepped in the lab, she saw a nostalgic feeling. She's been into that kind of place before. An image of a room came into her mind. It was a wooden wallpapered room with wooden floor, a huge carpet was set in the middle of the room. 2 old sofas were set next to the coffee table. And next to them were a stone fireplace. There are some pictures hung on the walls, but she can't remember what those are. Stacks of books were set on a small cabinet.

"... huh?" She said as she lost her balance and fall. But then she immediately regain herself as she saw the professor coming along with his Daemon, the Noctowl. +Are you alright?+ Shion asked. She smiled to him as she nodded. She didn't know what that was, but this room made her remembered that room. It just a short flashback though.

"Hello, my name is Professor Pine. This is my daemon, Telepa. Well, let's get right to the point, shall we? Do you have a Pokémon in mind for your starter?" The kind looking professor asked. He looked like he was trying his best to smile. Maybe he was tired. If so, then he really was very kind. She felt a big regret after she saw that fake smile.

"I'm sorry, I knocked the door, but I think I was just too weak that it didn't sound." She said with a lot of embarrassment. She had a big red flush on her face now. Her face was even redder, and her heart beat faster. "Um... I'm... sorry to bother you as well." She added. She thought she shouldn't bother him even longer. That man must be extremely tired by now. Especially with new trainers keep coming by and such things.

There was a long pause before she continued. She seemed to search for the right word to say. "You're really kind. Professor, I hope things get better for you." She said to the professor. Completely forgetting why she was here at first. The silver bird noticed that and immediately reminded her about her first intention of coming to the lab. It appears that she was more concerned about the Professor's condition than getting herself a Pokemon to start her journey.

+Shine, your Pokemon, your Pokemon! Don't forget to ask for a shiny one. For it's rarer than normal Pokemon.+ The silver bird reminded. She finally remembered and immediately spoke the same thing as what the bird said. "Can I have... a shiny Vulpix?" She said. She had dreamed of having a Vulpix. The same one like her brother's. Actually, she didn't mind having a normal one. But the silver bird told her once that it was to differentiate hers and her brother's Vulpix.

"Aah, I'm sorry of being so impolite..." She said as she realized her mistakes. She had teary eyes on her face. She was so ashamed of herself.

Pine could see how this trainer seemed nervous of bothering him. His smile became more genuine. "Don't worry about being impolite or anything, it's all right. I like giving out Pokémon to new trainers, and I think you're being quite well behaved. Honestly, some of the people here can be unbelievably desruptive!" he seemed to be telling the truth. Telepa wasn't interested in this, instead watching Shine's daemon curiously. He had silver feathers. She'd seen a few oddly coloured daemons before, but it wasn't common.

Pine nodded at Shine's request. A shiny Vulpix. Vulpix were very popular, so he made sure that he had plenty, and he just happened to have one. He took the Pokéball out the drawer and released the Fire type inside for Shine to see. "I let my trainers meet what they're getting so they know for sure they want it. Will you take Vulpix?" he asked.

The Vulpix was indeed a shiny, and seemed to be aware of the fact that it was a rare colour to be. It preened its fur carefully, a bit vain and a bit of a show-off. It saw Shine, and smiled, padding up to her and sitting about a foot away, watching her curiously through intelligent eyes. The fox seemed like it would take some time to become friendly, but looked like a strong and smart Pokémon.

Shine was really glad when she saw the professor smiling again. This time, a true smile. It felt like she was having a Déjà vu again. This man's smile, she had been through something like that as well. Something she knew but she didn't want to remember. She was about to remember the face of someone who gave a similar smile as the professor's until the silver bird pecked her head. +Hey, the professor's talking to you.+ The bird reminded her.

She realized that she was dozing off and immediately looked at the Professor. Who was waiting for her answer. "E-eh?" She muttered. She didn't hear what he was saying before. For her mind was traveling on itself when the professor uttered those words. +He asked if you want that Vulpix.+ The bird said. Repeating what the professor said.

She looked at the bird until she realized that the Professor had summoned the Vulpix she requested. There was now a golden furred Vulpix in front of her. Who stared at her carefully. Shine was amazed at her shiny golden fur. The child was beautiful. Too beautiful that Shine couldn't help looked awed. Then she crouched down so that she could talk easily to the Vulpix. "You have beautiful eyes." She said to the Vulpix.

Shine examined the Vulpix. She had a strong build and wise wisdom. She looked cool and tough. A cold persona, just like him. She said as she immediately remembered her brother with his Ninetales. "Is this child a he or a she?" She asked the professor. And then looked back at the Vulpix. Yep, whether if it's a he or a she, she'll accept it both ways. She thought it was a she though. For the child looked so pretty and cute.

"I'll take her. Can I name her Luminous?" She asked the professor again. She really wanted the child. She loved it already. She hoped they could be good friends. After all, she dreamed to be a Breeder. But to start, she'll need to be a good trainer first.

Vulpix was pleased by Shine as she spoke. She licked the girl's hand when she complimented on her eyes. It was true; this Vulpix did indeed have lovely eyes. They were deep, extending seemingly into her very soul. This girl seemed like a perfect match for her. She had a similar personality, and seemed friendly and kind and gentle. Yes, she would do as her trainer.

Pine nodded. "Luminous? You can call her whatever you like- within reason, of course. Hey, it seems she's happy!" it was true; the Vulpix was nodding to the new name. Pine chuckled softly. That was pretty cute, actually. "Well, let's get you ready, then! I'm sure you and Luminous will get on just fine. She looks like she respects you, anyway." the man commented. This was true, too. After all, it wasn't as if a Professor would make stuff up.

With that, Telepa flew off his shoulder and grabbed a drawstring bag off a shelf. On that shelf were more drawstring bags, all exactly the same. She swooped over and dropped it in Shine's arms before returning to her human's shoulder. "Your starter items." explained Pine. He left Luminous outside, and placed her Pokéball on top. "And there's your first Pokémon. Right, now you're officially a trainer! Congratulations and good luck!" he said. Almost too early, it was time for Shine to move on to Route One.

Shine watched as she slowly watched the Vulpix getting closer to her. The Vulpix was a female. And it seemed like she had become closer to her even though just a bit. This Vulpix has a deep eyes. Beautiful. Eyes like the sun. And she's also very sweet. Somehow it seemed to understand Shine. She giggled when the fox Pokemon licked her fingers. And then brushed the Vulpix's head once again. Yup, she had decided. This child is indeed remarkable.

At the moment she called the Vulpix her first name, the Vulpix smiled. She seemed happy with the name. Although it was long and weird, it loved the name. Even the professor agreed that it was a good name. Shine gladly sighed when they both accepted that weird name. She thought it would be weird to name a Pokemon with that name. "Luminous means bright. Just like your shiny fur. And my name." She explained as she chuckled softly when she saw how cute the Vulpix was. No wonder why they are so popular.

While Shine and Shion were busy amazed by the Vulpix, Professor Pine's Daemon, Telepa had flew to a nearby shelf and brought them a sack of items. Seemed to be prepared for new trainers like her. The Noctowl Daemon flew to her and dropped the sack onto her hands. "What's this?" She asked the professor as she curiously examined the bag. "Your starter items." He explained. She gently opened the bag and checked the items she was given.

Inside the bag, there were 10 Pokeballs, 6 potions, 4 antidotes, 4 burn heal, 4 ice heal, 4 awakening, and 4 paralyze heal. Again, she was amazed by the man's virtue. She immediately stood and thanked the Professor by bowing down. "Thank you very much, professor. How can I ever repay you?" She asked him. Those items were so many. So many that she can't hold them all alone. Few Pokeballs fell into the floor. She tried to collect them all but was helped by Luminous and Shion.

She carefully placed the items in her bags. Grouping them and arranged them into a good pack. She thanked Luminous for helping her and again, the fox Pokemon was pleased to see that she helped. "If there's anything I could do to repay you, please just say it Professor. I might not be a good help, but I will try." She said to him. Waiting for any request she could fulfill.

Professor Pine smiled. This girl was very kind indeed. "Oh, there's no need to repay me! I give out my starters for free! I earn my money from my research. It wouldn't be fair to ask for money from every new trainer, would it? Now, go along to Route One! I'm sure you'll meet lots of exciting new Pokémon there. Enjoy your time as a trainer, and who knows? Maybe you'll make it big." he grinned. It was clear how much he liked his job. It seemed Shine could just go, too. Off to Route One... who knew what awaited her there?

It seemed like the professor refuse to get a help from her. Well, it's not like he would need something important from her and Shine wouldn't be able to do big jobs as well. She was really clumsy and stupid. She won't get things done even if the professor asked her to do something. "Thank you, Professor Pine." She replied to the professor before bowing down again. That was when she decided to leave.

"I'm really grateful with everything professor. Thank you very much. I promise I'll be a good breeder." She said to the professor before walking away the laboratory. Although she's not that depenable. She always tried her best at everything. Who knows when she'll find her success? Just look at Thomas Alpha Edison. Someone who tried countless time to made the world have light in the dark night.

"Nice to meet you, Lumi-chan." She said to the fox. They were outside the building now. Shion and Luminous looked at each other. Their furs contradicts each other. Gold and Silver. They traded sights, but didn't tell a word. They knew that they shared a similar persona. And they loved the same person. They just smiled at each other before leaving for route one along with the girl.
