Shuckle withdrew her tentacles as soon as the damage of the Constrict was over, not wanting them to be hit by the Water Gun- she felt that she would faint if she had to take another hit. It was a good thing Voyager's attack missed altogether, then. Haha, the Magikarp wasn't a very good Pokémon, was he? Shuckle had a fair bit of potential, and make a good Pokémon if trained well enough.
It seemed a bit silly to withdraw her tentacles only to attack with them again, but that's just what Shuckle did. After all, there wasn't much else she could do other than Constrict. But this one was rather slow and uneasy, her tiredness reflecting in her attack. As a result of this, it would be easy for even Voyager to dodge this. Would he manage to dodge and deliver the one Water Gun required to finish the battle?

The Shuckle seemed to be wearing down, as even when her last attack had hit, the next one seemed even slower than normally. This was good, perhaps Voyager would be able to dodge it without much effort. It was hard to say, really, how close Voyager was to fainting. He was of course, hurt, and probably wouldn't last long if the battle were to continue, but his starring, bright white eyes easily masked any true pain or tiredness he was feeling.
As the Shuckle's tentacles drew closer, Selek called out, "Voyager, dodge!" Voyager flopped around aimlessly at first, but at the last second he had just managed to jump high enough and over enough to only be skimmed by the tentacles and not caught in them. As soon as Voyager landed, Selek called out for him to attack. "Voyager, use Water Gun, try to finish her off!" Voyager flopped a bit in order to get a slightly-as really, there wasn't much aim there-better aim, and then Voyager sent out another Water Gun. Maybe it would hit, or maybe it would be totally off target.

Shuckle was, predictably, very annoyed that Voyager had dodged her Contrict. Aw, that meant it would be harder for her to win. No matter, it wasn't as if the Magikarp had the very best of aims anyway. Besides, the fish was probably weakening. It was hard to tell because of his contantly blank, distant expression, but the battle had been going on for quite some time now and Shuckle, for one, was feeling tired. He then launched another Water Gun... Shuckle was actually worried.
Worried about a Magikarp's attack- how strange. Still, it was a very true fear, since Shuckle's pride would take a heavy blow if a Pokémon like Voyager beat her. The Water Gun was off-target a little, but it still managed to catch Shuckle on her shiny red shell. She grimaced in pain, trying to hang on. It was too much, but she would make it! The Rock and Bug type gritted her teeth as she tried to stay in the battle, but a few moments after the Water Gun had finished, her weariness overcame her. The Shuckle fainted.
Shuckle was defeated! Voyager gained a level!

Voyager flopped quite happily. Picard sighed, "Lucky fish. Somehow winning even though he can't see straight." Selek began to take out a Pokeball in order to catch the Shuckle. Picard grabbed his arm in order to stop him. "Its another bug type. Besides, you already have a Weedle." Selek pulled his arm away, "we'll need her defense. Besides, I'm sure she'd be better with us." "Yes. Rather good seeing as she's probably the laughing stock of Mold everywhere." Ignoring Picard, and possibly not truly understanding him, Selek tossed a Pokeball at the fainted Shuckle, and then returned Voyager who probably wouldn't have lasted much longer, either.

The Pokéball hit the defenseless Shuckle's shell with a dull thunk, drawing the fainted Pokémon outside. She was startled to find herself in the interior of the Pokéball, making a dull unheard grunt of surprise. Selek was trying to catch her? That was a surprise to her, since she hadn't imagined that many trainers would actually want a Pokémon like her. Most would deed her useless or something.
Oh, right! She had to try and escape, or Selek would be her trainer forever. She did not want that at all! Because of that, the Bug and Rock type began to shake the sides of the Pokéball, making it rock rather violently. Unfortunately, she wasn't strong enough to break free, and ended up captured.
Shuckle was caught!

Selek was glad to have the Shuckle added to his team, even though Picard wasn't. "You always find a way to capture the most useless Pokemon, don't you?" Selek sighed, not wanting to hear Picard pester him with what he should and shouldn't catch. Picard did not hate Selek-although it often seemed that way-it just was hard for them to get along in mos cases. Selek added the Poke ball holding the Shuckle to his belt. "This Shuckle isn't useless, Picard. And you know that. We just have to carry on, if you really think we can fine something better."

What Selek encountered next wasn't a better Pokémon than Shuckle, to be honest. He was smiling, racing along with the wind in his face. He loved going fast, it was just fantastic! He sighed happily, going just a little faster. That made him skid a bit, and his eyes widened in alarm. He didn't want to fall! He slowed down a bit, still going fast just a safer pace, one which would mean he wouldn't fall.
He was heard before he came into view. A familiar sort of rumbling noise, something sliding across the ground. Earlier, I mentioned how he wasn't a better Pokémon than Shuckle. As he came into view, it was clear why; he wasn't a Pokémon, he was a dude on a bike. His daemon was a Tailow, perched on his shoulder. As he saw Selek, he slowed down, braking. "Hey, buddy. Fancy a battle?" he offered.

((Sorry for the wait))
Selek jumped a little when the cyclist appeared, it wasn't that he hadn't heard him before hand but it was still somewhat startling. Picard began to look the trainer over, wondering how Selek was going to reply. "Alright." Selek then finally replied, seeing as no harm could be done in having a battle. Picard raised an eyebrow, none of their pokemon were at full strength, it would be a hard battle.

The trainer smiled, taking a Pokéball from his belt. He looked at it, analyzing his choice before deciding it was a good one. He had of course dismounted his bike by now, which was resting on the ground, his daemon using it as a perch. He threw the Pokéball, hoping his choice had been a good one. In a burst of red light emerged a Turtwig. Hm, a Grass type. Voyager was definately not to be used in this matchup, but Selek's Starly would be super effective.

Selek, no doubt, say that Voyager would be a poor choice. Picard knew it as well, and for once the two agreed on something. Selek instead pulled out the Pokeball in which his Starly was in, and tossed it out, revealing within the red energy the overweight flying type. The Starly had been given the name Scotty, and it simply sat on the ground, tilting its head as it looked at the Turtwig, awaiting orders. "Scotty, lets start out with Tackle." After a moment the bird began to run forward, its wings fluttering as it did so, even though the bird still remained on the ground as it charged. He wasn't exactly fast, but he wasn't all that slow, either.

The trainer smiled as Selek sent out Scotty. Ha, the Starly was fat. It didn't look like he found flying very easy, either. That was good for him, definately. He might be a Flying type, but his weight would be a disadvantage to him. However, despite his thinking this, Scotty was about as fast as Turtwig. He managed to hit the Grass type, his weight aiding him; it meant the attack had just a bit more power in it. "Don't worry, Turtwig! It's all right! Use your own Tackle!" he called.
The dinosaur Pokémon nodded, charging at Scotty. He was angry at him having hit him, so Turtwig was a little angry as he did so, the adrenalin fueling him as he charged in a powerful, accurate and likely to hit Tackle attack.

"Scotty, dodge!" Selek called out, and even though the Starly had hit the Turtwig, it also meant that he was within close range. The poor thing couldn't even flutter high or long enough to get away from the tackling turtle, and soon the Turtwig had made contact, blasting Scotty away a few feet. The bird rolled over a few times before standing and shaking itself in order to get dirt out of its feathers. It hurt, but because he was in close range it didn't hurt nearly as much as it would have. It still smarted, though. "Scotty, come on!" Selek cheered, and the Starly seemed to regain composure. "Use growl and follow it up with Quick Attack!" Scotty quickly-or as quick as he could-did so. The Quick Attack was not nearly as fast as it would have been otherwise, however.

A Growl? Oh, that had lowered his Attack stat, had it not? The Turtwig wasn't too pleased by that, but that was the way things were. He knew that if he spent too much time worrying about it, he could get side-tracked and loose or something bad like that. His trainer was prepared. "Withdraw before the attack hits! Then use another Tackle!" he called. Turtwig withrew inside his shell, raising his defense just in time; the Quick Attack struck a second later. Luckily, it didn't do as much damage as it could have done thanks to a heightened defense stat.
Good, that Withdraw meant that all the next attacks wouldn't hurt so much. Unfortunately, the same applied to Scotty because of the Growl he'd used. Oh, well, at least they were even again. The dinosaur like Grass type began to charge at the Starly again, aiming another Tackle attack.

Scotty skidded to a halt after his Quick Attack made contact. It was hard for him to stop on a dime because of the momentum he would pick up. He turned his head to see the Turtwig coming out of his Withdraw, and then it turned to use tackle. "Scotty, try to dodge it!" Scotty tweeted and tried to dive out of the way of the Tackle. He was able to dodge it-but not exactly all of him made it out of the way. The Turtwig hit about half of his body, knocking the Starly away, but at only half the damage it would have been, and even less-seeing as the Growl had worked. Scotty stood up and shook the dirt off of him. "Are you alright, Scotty?" The bird nodded, "~Yes~" Which even thought it hardly needed a translation, Picard gave one, anyway. "Alright, use Quick Attack again on the Turtwig!" Moving as fast as he could, the plump Starly charged forward to unleash quick attack.

Turtwig frowned as he saw that his Tackle had only hit half of Scotty. Then again, against a normally sized Starly he'd have much worse luck, so he was fine with things. At least the bird was fat, otherwise he wouldn't have hit at all! The bird's Quick Attack skimmed him, slicing a neat line of red where the chubby bird scraped by. That hurt, but at least the Withdraw was making things a little better. "Turtwig, hold on a little longer! Use your egg move- Sand Tomb!"
Turtwig looked at Scotty with a smile. Sand Tomb was an attack that lasted for several turns, and would hold the Starly down, hopefully even meaning he would be slower and easier to hit, not that that was the main aim of the attack. No, the point of it was that for all those turns the Sand Tomb would hurt the bird. Turtwig growled a determined growl, firing the Sand Tomb at Scotty hopefully.
