Kaylee sighed as she made her way up the path towards Pine Labs, the place where she would be given her partner. Azeban walked beside her, looking from Kaylee's face to the building up ahead. "...well?" Kaylee stopped and looked down at him, not much height difference between them. She was annoyed, the emotion written all over her face and in her every step. "Well what?" She snapped at him, which only made him smirk as he continued to walk, leaving her standing alone on the dirt path. "What Azeban? You've obviously got something to say, so say it!" The Daemon stopped and looked over his shoulder back at Kaylee, his eyes narrowed, "You know what."
Kaylee growled as she stomped past her Houndoom Daemon, anger brimming from her eyes. He ran to catch up to her, slowing down to a trot once he was by her side. "Why are you so mad Kaylee? It's not like anything bad happened. He just said-"
"It's exactly what he said." They had stopped once again and the Ranger was glaring down at her Daemon, hands on her hips. "Don't you remember what he said? He said get rid of them, get rid of them!" Her temper was starting to flare again, just thinking about the incident made her want to spit. "Yeah, so what?" Those words made Kaylee go stiff. So what? That was his question, so what? She felt ready to explode. "After all that we've been through and seen, you just say so what? What is wrong with you Azeban?! They're our team, my team! They mean so much to me. We've been together for more than five years now, and that stupid instructor just expects me to give them up?! Oh hell no!"
She growled and stopped her foot, once again acting like a child. Azeban sighed and shook his head, sitting down as he continued to watch Kaylee. "But you didn't did you?" Kaylee stopped all actions and blinked her eyes a couple of times. "W-why would I? It's not like I care what he tells me." Azeban cocked his head to the side, wishing she would just go ahead and say it. "So what's with all the hubbub? Ya didn't follow his orders, so why are you acting so upset?"
"C-Cuz of the whole concept! I had to take all three of them out of their pokeballs and 'release them' back into the wild. He wouldn't even let me keep them in a PC. They found me right after I was dismissed, but still...what nerve that ass has!" She clenched her fists as she thought of her annoying instructor. For two years she was a full ranger, but suddenly it wasn't okay to have pokemon and she needed a partner.
Azeban nodded his head as he thought back to the ordeal, a certain gleam in his eye. "That guy was an ass, always thought so. And his Daemon, che, that stupid birdbrain kept glaring at me. What I wouldn't give to sink my teeth into that dumb Noctowl, and make it squirm." Azeban's eyes lit up and he brought his mouth back into a smile, a very creepy and toothy smile. "Oh, and that reminds me." He stood and looked up at Kaylee, who watched him with interest. "Don't you dare choose a bird pokemon as your partner. Or anything weak or small looking for that matter. I swear, if you do, I'm gonna eat it."
The two were already walking again, discussing how it wasn't possible to eat a pokemon. "Why do you always say that? You can't eat a pokemon Aze. You can kill it or maim it or somethin', but you can't eat it. So why do you always say that? It's not much of a threat." Azeban shrugged his black fur shoulders, "It's like my catchphrase Kay, you'd understand if you had one."
"Well I'm glad I don't." They were at the door to the labs, and Kaylee was searching for some sort of intercom or doorbell, but nothing. She shrugged and knocked loudly, looking back down at Azeban for a second. "Remember, don't get a bird pokemon, especially a Noctowl. I really don't like the way they look at me, they have horribly large eyes." Kaylee scoffed before turning her attention back to the door, the professor soon to open it.[/blockquote]
