Karate Midget is considered an appropriate title for five foot tall Kaylee Sumner. Along with being short, she is extremely thin and has a pretty small bust. She is not a foe to be taken lightly for her size though, since she was trained in a martial art since she could talk. Her black hair goes past the middle of her back, but that’s only if she wears it down. Normally she will put her hair up in two pigtails with white ribbons. Her light turquoise eyes shine brightly from her small face, and a black choker encircles her neck. Kaylee seems to have sharper canines than most people.
She likes to wear an off-white long sleeve shirt with very thin black vertical stripes. Beneath she wears a short black plaid miniskirt, along with white sneakers on her feet. Tied around the collar of her shirt is a softly colored green ribbon. The way Kaylee walks is that of a twenty year-old woman, swinging her hips as if she had something to show off. When she is fighting, however, everything about her is focused; her eyes, her mouth, and especially her body, always angled towards the opponent. She does not have a fighting stance in spite of this because she has discovered with experience that those on the alert, almost always get the upper hand while moving around.
Now despite what you might think, Kaylee does not wear shorts underneath her skirt, which allows for many comical situations to ensue. Her Daemon repetitively tells her to just wear pants, but she keeps telling him that her clothes are the only thing girlish about her, besides her figure of course.
Personality:
Kaylee is a somewhat complicated individual. As of the moment, the teenager has no clue on what she wants to do with her life. It’s as if she wanders, with no purpose or goal. One of the clearest things she knows about herself is that she cannot stand stupidity or foolishness, or anything where something illegal or pain is involved. Although she doesn’t mind delivering the punishment, she doesn’t believe it should happen. Makes her somewhat of a twisted protector, am I right?
Another great thing, if you would call it that, is her humor. Kaylee just loves to pull pranks. Doesn’t matter who or what, but when you mess with someone or make them spazz out, Kaylee will surely be there to watch and laugh. She’s not bipolar, but just easily switches from laughing to wanting to kick your ass. Normal? Not really, but what is normal? Even though Kaylee has a big ego, since she likes to give the appearance that she can handle anything and everything, on the inside she is just a little girl who doesn’t want to get left behind, or so her Daemon tells her. It’s interesting how whenever her Daemon comments on something relating to her actions or personality, she tells him to shut up. As if she can’t accept the fact that she doesn’t understand herself, if that makes any sense.
Some of the good things about Kaylee are her loyalty, which will easily disappear if you stab her in the back or hurt someone she cares/trusts. Her intelligence, problem solving is her specialty and puzzles are her favorite pastime. Her ability to stand up for what she believes in, her fast reflexes and carefully trained body great in a fist fight; and last but not least, her dedication. Although most of the time she will announce loudly that she’s bored and walk away, Kaylee deep down is a trustworthy and dependable person. She does not go back on her word and will always put her best into getting the job done.
Kaylee is no doubt mature, her Daemon settling into a final form when she turned thirteen, although she doesn’t exactly give off the “mature vibe”. Childish in almost everything she does, Kaylee understands very well what happens in the world and how cruel life can be. She’s right in a sense that life is short and that you live only one life, even if that means being sarcastic and rude half the time.
History:
Kaylee was born in Silav Town, her mother and father having somewhat of a hard time raising three boys and one tomboy. Her parents always wanted Kaylee to be more feminine, but she just couldn’t help running around with her older brothers. At age five, Kaylee was ready to start engaging herself in an extracurricular activity. Her grandfather lived in Sento Town and was very skilled in Karate. Although Kaylee’s parents had begged him to move away from the sandy village, he flat out refused, which only made Kaylee admire him even more. Making her father take her on a grueling trip to Sento, Kaylee learned and trained hard every day as she grew up in Enera. Her grandfather was a very wise man and had traveled all over, and was once a great trainer on top of that. Kaylee learned everything from pokemorphs to Daemons, her own Daemon truly fascinating to her, as well as being her best friend. She would spend many late nights staying up talking to her Daemon as a child, her thirst for knowledge knowing no bounds.
Around age ten Kaylee returned to her parents, two of her brothers gone and the youngest visiting to help out around the house. Kaylee was pumped to start out on her journey to become a powerful trainer, hoping to face the Elite Four and Champion one day. The brother that stopped by was twelve years-old and offered to travel with Kaylee. The girl was thrilled, since Roy was the one out of the three boys that she was closest to. They traveled for almost two years before tragedy struck.
As the two made their way up Mitop Mountain they were ambushed by thugs who wanted their pokemon and anything else on them. Roy, who was always being the big brother, protected his little sister who could handle herself fine. When fighting off one of the thieves, Roy lost his footing and fell to what only seemed to be his death. Kaylee panicked and finished off the men before beginning to search for her brother. After searching for a while she couldn’t find him and sought for help after she finished hiking the mountain. No one was able to find Roy Sumner, which left Kaylee heartbroken. It took talking to a few people of the Mitop Tribe to be reminded of the Rangers and that Roy could still be out there. Fueled with new determination, Kaylee began to train as a Ranger at age eleven. At thirteen, Kaylee was a fully fledged Ranger and her Daemon settled into a form, partly due to Kaylee realizing that she would most likely never find her brother. Two years later, Kaylee still travels around keeping things in check and helping pokemon or people in need, the thought of Roy in the far back of her mind. Many people don’t notice that Kaylee is a Ranger at first since she refused to wear the “uniform,” but her capture styler rests comfortably in a holder attached to the top hem of her skirt.

Nearly Kaylee’s height, Azeban is slightly bigger than a Houndoom you could find in the wild. His eyes are of a deeper blood red than normal, while his tail seems almost shorter in length.Personality:
Azeban is like Kaylee in many respects; a prankster, dedicated, and with a bad temper. Yet, he could be viewed as an extreme version of Kaylee. No matter whom it is or if he even knows the person, if that adult or child threatens Kaylee, Azeban will attack that individual’s daemon. Tremendous loyalty on his part indeed, he will not stand to be told anything by another person or daemon. Independent like Kaylee, this dog is a loner, preferring to work alone than in a group (partly due to the fact that Kaylee herself does not want to be put in a situation where she can’t protect her companions or she gets left behind).
Azeban is one of the few beings that Kaylee asks for advice, since he’s the one that knows Kaylee best. He helps her understand what she cannot fully comprehend. He too is fast when it comes to reflexes and is sly, many not even noticing that he might be standing or hiding behind them. Azeban likes the element of surprise, especially when it involves gasps of shock whenever creatures lay eyes on him. He is not fully to be trusted though if you are not Kaylee because he will turn on you if that means she is protected.
