They'd left early in the morning, hoping to take whatever coolness the environment would have from the night and travel through the caves of route eleven before sun had started to rise. It was successfull enough, but with the lack of trees in the area right outside the caves the sun was already beating down by the time they were out in the open once more.
Giselle picked up a towel that was resting on her knee and whiped it across her forehead. Her daemon, Pyrrhus, was moving at a pretty slow pace, somewhere between a walk and a jog, and so Giselle had let the reins drop down. She didn't really need to hold onto anything if they weren't going quick.
"Paa-chiii," whined the little squirrel pokemon laying on her shoulder. Giselle looked over to her companion, letting her towel drop back onto her knee, and reached behind her for a canteen.
"Here, you little fuzzball," she said, taking the cap off. The cap for the canteen was like a little cup, and she filled it with some water. "We'll be out of the heat soon enough." Her companion pokemon, Quince, eagerly drank out of the little cup.
"Easy for you to say," the rapidash daemon said, looking over his shoulder to the girl sitting on his back as he did so. "It'll probably the rest of the day at this pace. Unless you want to get down and run while I sit on your back."
"Oh shush," Giselle replied, putting the canteen back on the saddlebag. "I told you I'd walk if you wanted some weight off, you're the one that said it'd be faster this way."
"It will be," Pyrrhus said matter-of-factly. "You're slow."
"Maybe compared to you," she replied, crossing her arms as she did so. "I could outrun most of the other rangers back at our station."
"Well if the furball is to warm, he can walk," Pyrrhus said, switching back to the original subject. "The heat doesn't bother me at all."
"Really?" Giselle asked with mock surprise, fanning her hand towards the flames of her daemon's mane. "I would never have guessed." The pachirisu curled his tail under her arm, looking between his ranger and her daemon as they bickered. Giselle looked back down at him. "Don't worry about it anyway," she said, lifting her other hand to scritch at the fur between Quince's ears. "He was just cranky because he was thirsty."
[Just gonna end it there....not really much else to do, and I have to head to class soon xD I'm..not entirely sure what teh point of this rp is going to be except to walk! Whoo, walking...She doesn't really have much of a destination yet, she's just starting out so she's gotta kind of get an idea of the situation and all that jazz.]
