A girl dressed in rather odd clothing, something of that like a witch, entered Route 2 with her Persian daemon by her side and a Houndour by her other side. The girl seemed quite happy. After all she now had a team of 5 Pokemon after only following a single Route. A Houndour, an Azurill, a Mareep, a Zubat and a Zigzagoon. All of which with their own personalities. Gwen smiled to herself as she walked along teh path silently. Her Pokemon on the other hand had different things in mind. "You do realise that if choice came down to it, I would be the Pokemon that would be kept with Gwen, don't you?" The Persian daemon sneered to the canine. "And you do realise that Gwen wouldn't give any of her Pokemon away without good reason don't 'cha?" The Houndour sarcastically replied. Gwen sighed and shook her head as she heard the bickering cries of her cat and dog once more. Oh well. At least it showed they were both as healthy as ever.

A boy who had also been walking down the route heard the daemon and Houndour argueing. Well, since the cat was her daemon, it didn't count so much as a Pokemon, so that was silly. Besides, it wasn't possible to leave your daemon anyway. The looked at his own daemon, a Metang, his Nidoking tail swaying happily as he strocked her smooth surface. She hadn't settled yet despite his age; as he moved into view, she became a Furret around his neck. He walked up to Gwen with a confident smile. "Hey, my name Jerry. Want a battle?" the Nidoking 'morph asked hopefully.

Gwen stopped as she saw someone come out of the trees and into her view. Atra and Aquilo did the same, stopping as the boy came into view. Gwen and Aquilo were slightly more shocked then surprised as they stared at the boy with a Nidoking tail, somethign they had never seen before. They had seen dragons and elves, demons and angels, magic and hundreds of year old men, but a boy with a large purple tail? Never. Atra stared from her trainer to the Nidoking morph when Gwen didn't give an answer. Somethign was wrong. The Houndour then gave a laugh as she realised the problem. Walking to stand in fornt of her trainer she said mockingly, "You can use magic and have seen dragons and other mythalogical things but you've never seen a Pokemorph?" Gwen looked down at her Houndour, she didn't understand a word it was saying but it made the mage come back to her sense. Aquilo had a difffernt reaction. He could understand Atra and knew that a Pokemorph would be able to do so too so he quickly put a paw over the Houndour's mouth and smiled to the new guests before whispering to Atra, "Keep your mouth shut cat!" Gwen then realised she'd been asked a question and tapped her head and smiled as she acted a little dumb and said, "Um.. Sorry about that. Slow reaction times. Anyway, yeah I'll have a battle with you. I'm Gwen by the way and this is Aquilo and Atra, anyway, you can go first." Gwen gestured with her hand for the boy to go first. She wasn't sure which Pokemon to use first since she had to eb careful with each one considernig her journey on Route 1. If the boy's Pokemon was a small one or somethign that wouldn't give Gwen much strife, she could use her Mareep in hopes of it healing, but it all depended on the opponent.

The Nidoking 'morph raised an eyebrow at Gwen's reactions. He'd got looks before, all Pokémorphs got them, but never something like this... still, he was used to that sort of thing. The kid smiled as the oddly dressed girl accepted his challenge and allowed him to pick his Pokémon first. This Gwen certainly was a weird person, wasn't she? His daemon crawled to the ground, standing on her hind legs to get a good view of what was going on. Jerry took out a Pokéball, tossing it from one hand to the other.
"Time to battle, Tort!" he called, throwing the Pokéball. The flash of red light revealed a large Tauros, an all-male Pokémon. The bull was huge, and if Gwen had chosen her poor injured Mareep, he would have towered over her; he was more than two and a half feet bigger than a Mareep. Tort bellowed an intimidating battle cry, pawing the ground with a hoof while he watched his opponent angrily to see what she would set against him.

Gwen looked out as Jerry made a Tauros appear. A Tauros! That was one dangerous Pokemon. Candeo would definitely not be able to fight this beast. Gwen needed to think of one of her Pokemon that would be able to fight this thing without being trampled... Era was too small and energetic... She'd probably get carried away... Pip wouldn't be good either, his attacks wouldn't be able to reach Tory without reciveing heavy damage in return. Atra? But then again Atra already fought a Stantler and did't come back toopretty, her paw had been broken... Then the idea came to her! The Pokemon that she received from that Santa person... The person that humans believed in around December. Gwen toko out a Pokeball and allowed the creature inside to escape. The red light appeared and then faded into the shape of a bat like Pokemon as Gwen called, "Nare, it's show time!" The Zubat appeared and flapped its wings in the sky as it floated by its trainer's head. Gwen looked at the bat adn smiled as she stroked its head. She hadn't met this Pokemon yet but he seemed to be just as good as teh others. Aquilo looked up at the bat and then to his side to see a giggling Houdnour. Atra smiled and said, "She really ooks like w witch now. First a cat and now a bat..." Aquilo grinded his teeth in anger but then let it slide by moving well away from the Houndour. Gwen then pointed out toward the Tauros, "Let's do this Nare, we're giving it our all Jerry! Don't hold back. Nare Leech Life let's go!" The Zubat screeched happily and then sent several barbs toward the Tauros in a leech life attack.

Tort the Tauros gave another bellow, although not as loud. It was more an acknowledgement of the battle. The Leech Life shot towards it and dug into the skin, making it grunt in pain and lift his leg a little where it had hit as the energy began to flow out back to Nare. At least it wasn't a super effective move, right? The bull huffed, a little angered at that bout of pain. Jerry smiled; it was his turn now. "Tort, let's get back at them in a Tackle!" he called.
Tort grunted his approval, eyes fixing on the Zubat. A sightless Pokémon shouldn't be able to dodge, right? Then again, he knew better than to assume that; after all, Nare had taken sucessful aiming for that Leech Life. He had heard somewhere that they used echolocation or something, but wasn't sure what that meant. No matter, his task now was to hit him, not figure out how he 'saw'. The bull charged in a Tackle, but a bulky Pokémon against a small, flying opponent wasn't so likely to manage a hit.

Gwen watched as the Leech Life worked. It was pretty pointless in restoring health, since Nare hadn't even lost any yet but it was the only attacking move he knew so it had to be used. Gwen watched as the Tauros stormed toward her Zubat. Zubat were like vampire bats no? They had the same body as when a vampire transformed just slightly cuter right? So they had that sixth sense that was rumoured about all super natural creatures... Well it was worth a try... "Nare, dodge at the last minute and then use Leech Life again!" The Zubat heard his trainer and saw the sound she created to get an image of her position. He then used the stomping of teh Tauros to locate its position and then just as it was about to hit the bat Pokemon, he swerved to the right and the Tauros missed. At a close range he once again shot little barbs at the bull once again.

Tauros's jaw dropped in surprise as he saw ghat Nare had dodged. But... He had no eyes? How could someone with no eyes dodge him, a great strong Tauros? Then he remembered the whole echolocation thing. Ah, right, they made a sound higher pitched than the frequency most other things can hear to, then listened for it to reflect from their surroundings to hear rather than see. Tort was so absorbed in all this, he forgot about the battle- that is, until he felt the Leech Life strike him and return energy that fizzled into nothing since it wasn't needed. "Tort, try again with the Tackle!" he trainer called, not wanting to give up.
Tort nodded, hoping that this time he would be quicker. He turned to face Nare directly, eyes locked on his target. This time, he'd pay so much attention it would be impossible for the Zubat to escape his move. He tried to shove the whole echolocation thing out his mind so that he could think easier. He considered the bay like he were an ordinary seeing opponent with the hope that that would help him be alert for dodges and attacks. Smiling, the bull then began to charge, eyes fixed on Nare to the extent that his aim was focused on him perfectly, changing with each movement he made.

Gwen saw Tort dash toward the Zubat in hopes of hitting the bat this time and breathed in as she said, "Nare dod-" But before the mage could complete her order, the Tauros had already struck the bat because of its speed and its immense power struck Nare with intense power. This wasn't good, a few moves from a Tauros could strike any large opponent and make it faint within a mere two turns. For Nare whose abilities focused on speed and flight, his agility would be difficult to copensate with his lack of power against a Tauros. Gwen then remembered Nare's other move and clicked her fingers as the idea came to her, "Supersonic!" The Zubat listened to his trainer and then send out his own supersonic attack in hopes of confusing his enemy and being able to have more a chance of dodging. Gwen watched as the echolocation attack was sent out toward the Tauros and called out to her Zubat, "Be on your guard Nare and watch...um... listen? very carefully..." The Zubat focused hard on the sounds in hopes of dodging any passionate or confused attacks that might come his way...

The Supersonic neared Tort quickly, since the bull was still close after the Tackle, not a wise thing to be. He recognized the visable waves of noiseless sound instantly as a Supersonic attack, and snorted in worry as he knew that it might confuse him. The Pokemon was the proud sort and was trying to hide this fear, but it still showed through, especially as the Supersonic washed over him, the sound that somehow could only be heard in the waves attacking his ears. The bull tried to cling onto normality, but when it was over it was clear he had been confused.
Jerry the Nidoking 'morph was shocked at this, gritting his teeth. How would he manage to win now his Tauros was confused? "Tort, try and use a Tackle, be careful not to hurt yourself!" he warned the bull, who was tossing his head over and over, eyes darting in random directions. Tort didn't look like he was inclined to move any time soon, and the large Pokemon did not attack. He did not hurt himself, either, he simple ran a Tackle at thin air, stopping to beam proudly once he had hit his imaginary target.

Gwen watched as the Tauros became confused, luckily the Supersonic attack had worked, and began to twist his head around in confusion and then dart toward an empty space in the air and confidently smiled once he had reached it. Maybe it was an illusion? Who knew. Gwen didn't really care, as long as the Tauros was relatively happy. That's what was the point of battling right? Seeing her Zubat flapping away from the Tauros she called, "Leech life again!" The Zubat once again sent barbs at the Tauros, hoping to get some health back this turn too. Atra had seated herself on the ground in a sitting position and was intently watching teh battle. Enjoying a fight between a raging, confused, giant bull and an agile, blind, flying bat. This was quite the entertainment for the dog and she was thrving in it. Aquilo continued to watch intently as well but more in hopes of defeating the opponents.

Tauros turned as Zubat prepared his Leech Life. Pretty? No, it seemed like it was an attack. A fighty attack! The bull grinned, then saw that the single pin that was aiming to steal his health away was coming right towards him. What could he do? Any Pokémon would know to dodge, but the confused Pokémon wasn't thinking straight, and instead opened wide and ate the Leech Life with a big 'OM' sound. Even Jerry was stunned by this, pausing for a moment before calling out "Try a Rage!" in a slightly awkward voice.
It was thought that Tort's attack-swallowing had disarmed the Leech Life, but that was proved wrong a few moments later when the bull let out a tremendous belch, letting out beads of energy with it that returned to heal Nare. Tort then tried to get angry for his trainer. It was hard for a happy Pokémon to do this, but it seemed that, as he ran for Nare in an actual attack this time, the anger of Rage was bringing him back to his senses a little.
